  1. ^ Is almost always the last poster when I check into this thread to see what's going on.
  2. ^ Lived in Boston, NY for about 18 months before realizing he had not moved to Boston, Massachusetts.
  3. By "lawn tractor" do they mean a "riding lawnmower" ??? So this guy was hammered and riding a lawnmower at 3mph (slower than walking speed) on the road and the cops want to "bust him" for this? Don't these guys have any real police work to do? And while at it, when did "policeman" become the new word for "governmental jurisdictional fee collector" which is all they are in most areas in America.
  4. I'm pretty sure it's been widely documented, for many years now, that Philadelphia sports fans are close to being the lowest form of human life on the planet. I personally put them 1 notch above your typical Bronx shithole Yankee fan. You know, that loudmouth NYC sewer rat type that should be exterminated.
  5. "Admit it. You want to punch me in the face as hard as you can, don't you?"
  6. Give the fans up in New England a little more time. They'll come around to hate Gilmore soon enough.
  7. Yes of course; I like football. I am one of the few (I think) who actually just wants to see a football game. I have no interest in pre-game crap, halftime crap, or the commercials, all of which can be seen after the game in a few minutes on a single nicely collected youtube video anyway. If the game turns into a NE blowout, I will shut it off.
  8. I actually really like the look and makeup of this Jaguars team. I absolutely love their approach to defense, with a total commitment to team speed even at the sacrifice of size. They remind me of an NFL version of traditional Miami Hurricane, Florida Gator, and Fl. St. Seminole teams. Ridiculous team speed on D. The Bills need to look like that, particularly at the LB position.
  9. I feel like each player has a legitimate shot at claiming to be the best ever in his sport. So to me they are equal. You didn't provide that as an option. PS: Some of the throws Brady made yesterday in the AFC championship game were unbelievable, and they were made when the Patriots were down and the going was tough. The guy is phenomenal.
  10. No offense, but this seems like a horrible take. If BB really wants to retire to enjoy a little bit of life outside of football, why would he do MNF games? If he wants to stay connected to football, he'd stay where he is at NE. Secondly, he would be a horrible color guy as he is the least charismatic person on the planet; not sure ESPN would even want that, despite the informed analysis he would obviously be capable of providing. Just don't see that at all.
  11. I don't consider that retribution at all. The Bills need to take care of their own business and they match fire with fire. I.E., that matter will be resolved when a Buffalo Bill cheap shots Gronk in a similar manner. Until then, this was just another play in another football game, and it didn't even cost NE the game. They're still headed to the Superbowl. Again.
  12. Not when the QB's name is Tyrod Taylor. That is for damned sure.
  13. ^ Contrary to reports, has never found a UFO on the ocean floor.
  14. I have not seen any compelling evidence to suggest NFL games have been rigged. I do think this sort of thing is conceptually very possible, and you most certainly can control the outcome of games, with a fair degree of certainty, simply by controlling a few key calls at critical times in the game. Many big time sports leagues around the world have fallen victim to this and perhaps it is a matter of time before the NFL suffers a similar fiasco. The question I would have is where is the motive? Who is going to benefit from the game fixing? The owners are already billionaires. Usually the motive is bookies controlling the gambling and they control the game by giving a lot of money to the referee, who is willing to take the bribe b/c the money is much greater than he is making through legitimate means. Not sure that set of facts lines up with forces surrounding modern NFL play though.
  15. Foles made some damn fine throws in this game. Better than I thought he was capable of. Don't see how Philly can beat NE in Superbowl but you never know, and you never know when Brady will get his legs shattered in a freak accident. It's what will make me want to watch the game.
  16. ^ Went with Just Jack for a screen name as a code of sorts. The two words start with "J" the 10th letter of the alphabet, so the name is a reference to "1010" the year in which Lady Murasaki wrote The Tale of Genji. And now you can probably guess Just Jack's profession: professor of Japanese history at U Syracuse.
  17. Love Romo as a color guy and I think the vast majority of posters at this forum would agree, based on comments I've seen about him all season long.
  18. I know this is not a new observation, but there some pass plays in the 2nd half of that game where the holding going on by NE offensive linemen was so obvious it was laughable. And not called. There was one play where the NE player wrapped both arms around Dareus and was sort of spinning him around desperately doing whatever he could to protect Brady from being hurt, b/c he had been so badly beaten by Dareus...it was like he resolved to take the holding penalty instead of giving Dareus a free shot at Brady. I was laughing as the play was unfolding...and there was no flag thrown. I couldn't F-ing believe that one.
  19. Everyone must throw back a shot every time Jimmy Johnson does that weird nervous habit thing of frantically licking his lips. He does this about every 35 seconds all day long, so be prepared to get hammered.
  20. Actually pretty damned well....if they had a bit more at the QB position themselves they may have had enough to pull it off. QB = #1 concern. All other concerns on team = distant #2, etc.
