  1. The funny thing is that if you could pick only 1 QB from history to be your franchise QB for his entire career, you'd probably take Tom Brady. We all know how effective and successful he has been. Yet look how many times he relies on a "big arm" to fire the ball around the field. Almost all the time he is dialing the throttle back and completing short little passes or mid-range stuff....and that's all you need to do. If you can consistently complete a 4 yard or greater pass, you should move 80 yards down the field every possession you have.
  2. I know some female humans with beard problems as well.
  3. BREAKING NEWS: Effective May 1st, all oval and tri-oval races will be run backwards, i.e., making right hand turns.
  4. This thread seems to have derailed a bit. My superpower is the ability to listen to faint sounds from great distances as far as 10 miles.
  5. I thought 1941 was a horrible movie that utterly failed as a comedy....but the Slim Pickens scene you posted is f-ing hilarious! I remember as a kid watching this scene and laughing uncontrollably to the point of crying. Love how Slim Pickens sniffs cautiously and then calmly says "Prune juice." LOL! Ben can be very hit or miss and he is an acquired taste. I remember him on the "Ben Stiller Show" back in the day on MTV (I think it was?) His sense of comedy is a bit out there, but if you are on his wavelength it can hilarious. This skit had me in tears back in the day:
  6. I hope you make it to the game b/c the atmosphere at a big time playoff game is positively electric. As you said, the gap between P/O action and a typical regular season game is just huge. For me, it's a huge problem of the NHL, though they don't seem too concerned about it. The regular season is probably twice as long as it should be, but good luck eliminating half the games and half the revenues. I would also love to somehow see an organized, consistent schedule around the league, with like 2 or 3 games, tops, being played per week on coordinated days. Get rid of this "3 games in 4 nights" crap or "back to backs" or "hasn't played in a week vs. team coming back from grueling west coast road trip" stuff. A ton of NHL regular season games are over before they start, b/c one team simply can't compete at the level of the other team, due purely to disparate scheduling.
  7. It's not the same thing as "stuttering" but Bulldog on WGR-550 stammers so badly it has become hard to listen to him. He really struggles to speak cleanly (in the manner Mike Schopp speaks, as an example), especially when he is excited or passionate about the point he is making. Mike Schopp will say something like "The Sabres are so bad their games have become virtually unwatchable for me." If Bulldog had the same thought, he would say "The..the ...Sabres are, uh, they..they..they....are, uh, so bad, uh, their games have, uh, become virtually unwatchable for me." Don't start to focus on this if you listen to these guys on the radio! Once you tune into it, it becomes very frustrating very quickly.
  8. She's not much to look at, but I noted she was charged with "sexual battery". I was never fortunate enough to be battered by a female teacher in this manner.
  9. My interest lies with almost all the Western Conference teams as I love the way they play hockey out there, especially in the playoffs. BUT....will watch closely Boston vs. Toronto and Philly vs. Pittsburgh. I can only pray the Philly vs. Pitt series turns into another war like those two teams had in the first round a few years ago...hockey became secondary and it was on the of the most entertaining playoff series in recent memory.
  10. We sure are having a lot of private workout sessions with top QB prospects for a team that is going to stay where it is in the draft. At least according to some at TBD.
  11. No offense, but is it just now becoming apparent that OBD has a master plan? They have been going down a nice linear path for quite a while now, going back to at least as early as the decision to move Watkins.
  12. Hmmm. A QB prospect comparison thread. Interesting idea.
  13. You make it sound like these sorts of things would keep a fella with talent off an NFL roster!
  14. Of course! Have a look at how many top draft picks are still on the team over the last, say, 5 years. It ain't much. We routinely "sell the farm" as it is! We just don't ever end up with top QB prospects as a result! Sell the damned farm and roll the dice for God's sake!
  15. No room for one more? Get as many as you can possibly accommodate and pray one hits.

  17. It can't be overstated what a mess GMTM made of the organization! He made a series of key moves which mostly proved to be bad. In his defense, he was looking at the winning formula in the NHL at the time, and wanted to build a "heavy" team that could physically dominate and forecheck a team to death. In the years when LA was winning the cup or coming close, the playoffs in the western conference were like a freaking war and size/toughness was critical, along with talent of course. Then along came Pittsburgh more recently and they kind of reinvented the winning formula with high overall team speed. That is where the league is moving now. I don't hold it against GMTM to go for the "heavy" approach when he did, but he still made a lot of critical errors and grossly overpaid; he was kind of a wild gambler sort of GM, which is unusual in that line of work. Now, we are pretty much starting from zero, still. Well, zero plus Eichel. So sure, Seattle could make the playoffs before us. Look at the trouble Edmonton has had putting it together after drafting the cream of the draft class for quite a while!
  18. Too much stuff to list here; fine painting, wood working, furniture design/fabrication, model making, pottery, bronze casting, guitar making, the list goes on. I enjoy creating things from nothing more than anything. No, fishing is a hobby, not a craft. Well, assuming you don't do it for a living. Then it can be a vocation. If you are into tying your own custom fly fishing lures or whatever, now that's a craft.
  19. After all this QB talk, watch! We will stay where we are, not move up, and draft a LB or something. Bills Nation will implode, other than a handful of nut jobs who think that is a good move.
  20. Religion, in general, is an old fashioned thing that is fading from the Earth. That's a good thing. It will still be around for a while, however. Societal shifts like this move very slowly. Are you suggesting the Catholic Church is primarily a secular organization interested in self preservation of its earthly power and that it has invented a few things over the years? Like the very idea of challenging what it says is "blasphemous" and therefore not to be tolerated? Who knew!
  21. Having lived around the country, I would say the thing that stands out about WNY to me is the people. Down to earth, open, friendly, willing to help others out. I find those things to be true, and those characteristics, generally, are definitely not found in other areas. For example, the general flavor of the greater DC area, where I lived for 13 years, is stand-offish, smug, and it is not uncommon for people to walk past you, look you straight in the face, and not acknowledge your existence, even if you smile and say "hi" to them. And that's not just a "big city" thing...that's a DC thing. Probably lots of other areas too, but other large cities are not nearly as cold... Anyway, WNY is the land of good people and friendly neighbors, and I think that's what I like about it best, though I have not lived there in nearly 20 years.
  22. This chick is--uh--was hot as hell. Aside from the fact that she was bat **** crazy and hell bent on self destruction, I would have banged her in a heartbeat!
  23. The troubles facing the Sabres organization have almost nothing to do with Lehner, though he is not a very good goalie and I think this will be his last year with the team. At least it is now official: we have the best odds to win the draft lottery. Though not very good and less than 1 in 5, they are still the best odds in the draft. Maybe this will be our year to get lucky after losing the No.1 pick twice already. A stud puck moving D-man like Dahlin would instantly upgrade the quality of our team overnight; it would also allow Risto to slide into his more natural 3/4 pairing and get more sheltered minutes which would make him a better player. There is a ton of interest in ROR around the league and if we can take advantage of someone and get a huge return for him, that's a deal I make all day long. The team could be appreciably better next season, with luck. It's still going to be a long, slow, methodical rebuild though. I'll say no playoffs for another 2-3 years.
  24. The chick holding the fish on the boat who "allegedly took the virginity of student X" remains the hottest chick of this type I think I have seen. She can't take my virginity now, but she can have whatever else she wants!
