  1. Nothing to gain either, other than a cancer in the locker room.
  2. None of those 3 guys would be ideal as a backup. Of the 3, I'd probably take Kaepernick in a perfect world assuming you can get him very cheaply and there is some kind of chance he can re-gain some of his past success. Although I think that's doubtful.
  3. I always put the coffee in the filter once the cleaned filter is in the coffee machine. Mind you, my filter is a permanent metal mesh type thing that doesn't need to be replaced, only rinsed out. So I dump the old grinds, rinse/clean the filter, drop it in the coffee machine (it's designed to fit like a glove) and then I scoop the fresh coffee into the filter in the machine. I would never think to do it the other way around, largely b/c it would be a mess and I'd have to hold the filter in my hand or something while putting the coffee in it, and coffee would end up all over the place.
  4. On a similar note, look at the big "Goat head" logo on the front of the sweater. Look to the left of the area around the big horn on the goat's head (his right horn). See how it joins the area around the eyeball and basically forms a silhouette of the Buffalo Bills "charging buffalo" logo???? I just noticed that now and thought that is what the headline of the article was talking about. Maybe I'm just inventing this, but it seems too distinct to not be there intentionally. On another note: I may be the only Sabres fan in the world who actually prefers these uniforms. I hate the goat head, but I loved the red/black/white color scheme and have never been a fan of the blue/white/gold look. I associate our classic uniforms with total mediocrity and sucking as a franchise. Our current pathetic state fits in nicely with the old fashioned uniforms we are currently wearing. F-it! Go back to the white/red/black, but get a better logo.
  5. This was genuinely entertaining. I completely lost it when he said: "I was afraid the damned thing was going to bend me over the Weber Kettle here and corn hole me." I will be watching more of this guy's videos and looking for more Big Foot content for sure. How the heck did you find this guy and this video !? Tremendous find. Only 631 views for this video! This guy should have millions of followers.
  6. Thought the Thurs. games were boring. Lots of decisive wins around the league. I watched the Anaheim game and was amazed to see tons of empty seats out there. WTF? This is playoff hockey and the Ducks have won the Cup. If your fan base can't fill the building for a playoff game, you shouldn't have a team.
  7. Sounds interesting. What was the career?
  8. I guess an NFL team will hire a convicted felon before they will hire a guy who wants to exercise his 1st Amendment right of freedom of expression. God I hate the NFL. These billionaires won't go anywhere near anyone or anything that might take a few dimes out of their pocket.
  9. Doug Whaley hung his career on EJ Manuel. Then again, he is an idiot.
  10. 4 games is quite a penalty for the NFL! He must have done something pretty serious. I'll guess multiple murders.
  11. See the thread here where allegedly 2/3 of the teams in the league have Darnold as the #1 QB in the draft. I think he is the #1 target. I think you have to pick #1, maybe #2 to get him. Anything lower no dice.
  12. I agree it's not totally crazy; it all hinges on who these teams really want and what they REALLY want to do. If you are happy to get X but the draft value of your pick is greater than X, it only makes sense to trade, increase your draft capital, while retaining what you need to get what you want.
  13. All of this guy's information hinges on Russ Brandon telling ultra-high level top-secret stuff to a buddy, who happens to be this guy's boss. If that's true, Russ should be fired immediately. Well, he should have been fired a long time ago, but you see my point. I assume it's all made up or something is off here so no big deal.
  14. She makes me want to sign up with T Mobile immediately.
  15. In next week's class, please explain the difference between "their", "they're", and "there". You have a lot of work to do around this place.
  16. Sometimes, in order to get what you want in life, you just have to ask for it.
  17. I would support an aggressive approach that moves up to make sure we get our guy, rather than trying to play it cool and hang back hoping the guy falls to us. Normally I hate trading up and am opposed to it, generally, but not in this case. Going for a QB in a QB-rich draft is probably the only time I would ever move up.
  18. “And for the most part we don’t have many glaring holes,” Beane said. “We do have a couple, but I don’t feel like we’re entering the draft with five starting positions that I’ve got to find in this draft.”
  19. You sure about that? The tweet says I polled 24 teams this week and asked them to rank their top 4 QB’s in order. Allen has some individual skills that make a certain kind of scout drool. Like, he threw a football faster than anyone has ever thrown a football, at least in terms of like the last 20 years keeping track of such information. He has what you could call "generational" arm talent. A certain kind of guy can't see through that to the much more important aspect of his game, like, he is highly inaccurate and not a particularly good QB. Especially in the NFL, success at QB is mostly made up of things having nothing to do with how hard you can throw a football.
  20. The article discusses the QBASE model put together by Football Outsiders each year. It uses stats in college to project a QB's success in the NFL. They have run the model back to 1996, which would include both years Tom Brady started at Michigan. Of note: he was not in the their Top 10 best scores, which suggests their "scientific model" is not exactly scientific. It's also funny to see the Top 10 all time scores include Byron Leftwich, Carson Palmer, and Donovan McNabb. It does also include, however, the likes of Rodgers, Big Ben, Rivers, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, and Marcus Mariota. Don't get me wrong: I think Allen will be horrible and don't want the Bills to draft him, but the analytics people like to think they are engaging in science but they are not.
  21. This has been in the crawler at the bottom of the screen for a while and I got a kick out of it. Let's hope this guy is clueless. He's up to Pick 10 and this is the break down: 1) Cleveland--Darnold 2) Giants--Saquon Barkley 3) Jets--Josh Rosen 4) Cleveland--Bradley Chubb 5) BILLS--Trade Up With Denver To Take JOSH ALLEN 6) Colts--Quenton Nelson 7) Tampa Bay--Minkah Fizpatrick 8) Chicago--Denzel Ward 9) San Francisco--Marcus Davenport 10) Raiders--Tremaine Edmunds
  22. Know where we are with a middling QB and a "big stud" on defense? On the outside, looking in, as always. That's why most discussion focuses on the QB. The sport at the NFL level has mutated to the point where you really have to have one of the very good ones, or you don't have a shot in hell. The only exception being the rare case where you get lucky and have like a top 5 all time defense. And even then I'd bet on the team with the stud QB to beat the great defensive team every time.
  23. Don't want Jackson under any possible contingency. I think we are fixing to move up way high and take a much bigger name than Jackson anyway. Will be upset if it doesn't pan out that way.
  24. Great point! No one just starting his professional career was more cocky, stubborn, and sure of himself than Jim Kelly, and look how that turned out! Wait. Never mind.
