New Helmet Rule & Changes to Kickoffs Adopted
Fadingpain replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some research has shown that the players most at risk for CTE are linemen, b/c they are subjected to "small" collisions on every single play. I think some would suggest many small impacts leads to CTE as much or more than the big lit up head shot that the NFL is trying to avoid with changed special teams rules. -
LeSean McCoy allegations
Fadingpain replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's true that McCoy and trouble go together like salt and pepper. And it's also true that this is the players' gift to the fans at this time of year. It's the soap opera side of following football, which a lot of posters here seem to enjoy more than the actual games. -
NFL disperses record shared revenue
Fadingpain replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Short term future of NFL is as bright as ever. Long term maybe not as much, but that's too far away now to speculate on or worry about. -
LeSean McCoy allegations

Hold him liable for libel. I see the thread is now in the slow death phase. We'll get another 75 pages in a day if/when something big breaks and Shady is in trouble. -
Ditch the whole damned system and set up a proper professional minor league for football. That will never happen, but it should.

Can you help my daughter perform the anthem?

I would say Groy, but this is a story that will play out throughout training camp and the preseason. I think we'll have a much better feel for how the OL will look then.

Can you help my daughter perform the anthem?
Fadingpain replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is there a video of her performing the anthem or singing something else on Youtube or something like that? I'd like to see it. Have her agent approach the Bills directly. -
Should We Make a Run @ Le'Veon Bell in 2019?
Fadingpain replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Piss away a ton of money on a high priced RB with some mileage on the odometer? Why would we do that? This is a passing league. -
LeSean McCoy allegations
Fadingpain replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is not necessarily true. -
You talking about Mario Mandzukic? He scored the second goal for Croatia. He is a superstar playing on one of the best club teams in the world, Juventus, from Torino, Italy. Or are you talking about the first goal scorer, Ivan Perisic? He is another top player currently playing for Iter Milan, also a historically top team in Italian Serie A. Croatia also has Luka Modric, superstar for Real Madrid, maybe the best club team in the world right now, Ivan Rakitic, star for FC Barcelona (another absolutely top club team in the world)...and others. It's INCREDIBLE that a little country the size of metro Detroit is THAT loaded with superstar talent at the same time.

Was pulling for Croatia, and they dominated a lot of the game. France was gifted 2 goals and that proved too much to overcome in the end. Not a classic final IMO, or a particularly good tournament in general, though it had some bright moments for sure.

Awful (but memorable) TV commercials
Fadingpain replied to Golden Goat's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I remember this commercial well from my childhood. What I did not remember is how it looks like a pair of teenagers slapped it together in their parent's basement in an hour for a school project. Holy crap that's bad! For me, the "shout song" at Bills games is pretty much the same sort of thing as this commercial. Time to move into the 21st century with something a little bit more slick IMO. -
Are you consistent with your annual physical?
Fadingpain replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
If you haven't seen a doctor in 5 years, you should probably go do it soon. Just for an overall check under the hood and peace of mind. Remember, not every ailment gives you palpable symptoms, and sometimes it's the thing that you don't notice and let go unchecked that kills you. -
There are always 2 sides to every story. I want to publicly thank Gugny for the "Mad Shitter" line above.

This was actually not that great of a brawl as brawls go, but it was a fantastic, memorable moment in Sabres history nonetheless. Two great moments from this incident stand out for me as time passes by. First, I absolutely LOVE how Adam Mair went straight for Jason Spezza after the puck was dropped, like a predator. He didn't pause to ask how he was doing, he didn't wait to be restrained by a linesman so he could fake not being able to throw a punch. He didn't dance and he didn't chit chat. He just dropped his gloves and started punching Jason in the face. I loved that. It was like a Great White shark eating some lunch. Second, after the Emery/Biron fight broke up, Jason Peters went over to start throwing with Emery. RJ's call at that moment was something I'll never forget. He said "And now Peters is gonna come over and grab Emery and THIS IS GONNA GET UGLY NOW!" with total excitement, passion, and drama in his voice. Actually, it never really did get that ugly b/c Peters never knew how to fight, but it was still a memorable call and one of RJ's best! This sort of thing is now almost completely out of the game, and it has left a very boring, stale product in its place, at least during the regular season. How weird that Ray Emery is now dead! He was never that great of a goalie, but fancied himself a bit of a fighter and he gave us some memorable moments throughout his career. RIP.

Bruce Smith & Chef's Restaurant Spaghetti Parm
Fadingpain replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chef's is this famous WNY institution, but I find their sauce to be a bit too sweet. It is very sweet for a Neapolitan sauce of that type and has a very distinct flavor that, to their credit, is always very consistent. The problem is I'm not the world's biggest fan of it. I still enjoy Chef's though and have eaten there many times. When I'm in Buffalo and want Italian, though, I go out of my way to go to San Marco, not Chef's. -
Who is Brad Riter and Why Did He Leave WGR?
Fadingpain replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of the links mentioned that he used to do a show with Jeremy White. I made the mistake of listening to Jeremy White and Howard Simon the other morning. Jeremy was rambling on about some theory of his, and I was reminded, again, and just how fantastically unintelligent he is. I simply can't listen to him talk. Howard is no brain surgeon, but he is not nearly as dumb as Jeremy, and he has a pleasant personality about him for the most part. He is sort of a go-along to get-along guy. Sorry to go off-topic from Brad Riter. I don't understand how anyone could listen to Jeremy White for more than about 5 minutes. -
Would you take this bet on Buffalo sports?
Fadingpain replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the spirit of the whole thing was that it would continue for a fairly lengthy time. His friend is basically saying "I'll pay you $10,000 when one of these miserable franchises wins a championship" because he is thinking it will, effectively, never happen. And in the meantime he keeps collecting $200 a year off his friend as a penalty for having faith one of the 2 teams can do it. How many years that would play out, exactly, wasn't mentioned. It was just a quick phone call. I do think "Dane" was being honest however; like I think he actually has a buddy at work who proposed this bet to him. As to whether or not his buddy would be good for the money, who knows. Maybe. It's a bet among friends. -

QB rumors about importance of concussions in choices
Fadingpain replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is absurd to suggest that Tyrod was let go because of a concussion risk. That is probably factor 17 on the list of reasons why they let him go. If the Bills truly believed Josh Rosen to be the better QB but passed on him because of "interview chemistry", negative public comments, and because of some abstract fear he will walk away from the game prematurely due to family wealth, they are dumber than I thought.
