The Buffalo Bills have NEVER selected a QB with the first pick they possess in the draft. They've selected just two first round QBs, but both Jim Kelly and JP Losman were taken AFTER Buffalo had already made another first round selection. I decided to do a little research on this to see the stats throughout the league. The following stats show how many times each team has taken a QB with the first pick they possessed in that draft. (The first number is the number of times since 1961, the second number is the number of times they've done it in team history including years prior to 1961). Arizona Cardinals 6/8 Atlanta Falcons 4/4 Baltimore Ravens 1/1 Buffalo Bills 0/0 Carolina Panthers 3/3 Chicago Bears 3/8 Cincinnati Bengals 7/7 Cleveland Browns 3/4 Dallas Cowboys 5/5 Denver Broncos 2/2 Detroit Lions 7/10 Green Bay Packers 2/5 Houston Texans 1/1 Indianapolis Colts 6/8 Jacksonville Jaguars 2/2 Kansas City Chiefs 2/2 Miami Dolphins 4/4 Minnesota Vikings 3/3 New England Patriots 4/4 New Orleans Saints 2/2 New York Giants 3/5 New York Jets 7/7 Oakland Raiders 5/5 Philadelphia Eagles 3/4 Pittsburgh Steelers 3/5 Saint Louis Rams 5/7 San Diego Chargers 4/4 San Francisco 49ers 3/5 Seattle Seahawks 2/2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5/5 Tennessee Titans 5/5 Washington Redskins 4/11

http://wp.me/p34Shl-2K Please visit the link (this is the final post for my class here at college). I have Buffalo making a trade down in the first round. I project through the second round, and then project the rest of Buffalo's picks. Let me know what you think!

Zero chance he's there. The end.

Mingo versus Jordan Analysis (with clips)
SBUffalo replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Mingo will be a bad flop. He's small and won't get bigger (based on him being so lean). No room for growth on a guy that needs to pack on some pounds to compete at the next level? No thanks. -
Da'rick Rogers - WR - Tennessee Tech
SBUffalo replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Da'Rick Rogers is a third rounder at best. No reason to draft Bailey AND Rogers... -
As is everything else mentioned on an internet forum for the most part. They could covet Cordarrelle Patterson or Xavier Rhodes. It's just a general idea, but it would be smart for us I think.

Of course anything can happen.

So a lot of people (including myself) are for trading down to pick up some extra picks. On the same note, a lot of people support trading back into the end of the first to get a QB. So here's an idea (obviously the other teams have to be willing to make these moves): Trade the 8th pick to the Vikings for the 23rd pick, the 25th pick and a late rounder. Package our second round with the 25th pick overall to the Saints for the 15th pick overall. Essentially what happens here for us: we pick up an extra late round pick, and we have traded back to get better value at the 15 spot as well as trading back into the first round to draft our QB at 23.

Less than 2 weeks till the draft, your pick at #8
SBUffalo replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's more than two weeks until the draft. Trade down and take him. -
I love Glennon in the second round, but he's a year or two away from being able to play. Can we wait for that? And the fact that you mentioned Klein at all takes all credibility away. Klein is not an NFL player, or a QB. ZERO chance it happens like that. No way they all take QBs like that... Especially considering NOBODY after 9 is looking for a QB, so they can all wait until the second or trade back up for those guys... Delusional. To think that the QB they like most will be there in the second is juvenile. Unless they are looking at some scrub 5th round prospect as their guy, in that case... !@#$ this. Thanks for not reading anything I said. That's basically the issue here. They can't afford to force themselves to trade way up and give up multiple picks...

Drafting by Value not need from the big board
SBUffalo replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Woahhhhh now. Bray isn't that high on very many big boards. Pugh is a 2nd rounder. Hamilton is far higher than a 6th rounder. Kings is much lower than a 3rd round. -
Some here are selling Jenkins short. Not to be picky, but it's just "MIKE" Jenkins, not Michael. Mike, in this case, is not short for Michael. His real first name is just "Mike." Absolutely not on Lane Johnson. Another late riser because of workouts. Avoid those guys. Moving Cordy Glenn to the inside is not an option. He looked very solid last year. We don't need another defensive tackle at eight... The pass rusher I could see. But I'll be upset if it's Jarvis Jones, and Jordan/Ansah will be gone. So... No.

If we don't with a quarterback at number eight, the team will HAVE to give up MULTIPLE picks to move up in the draft. There is no way they will be able to sit there at 41 and have their pick of who they want. Teams like Jacksonville, Philly and Arizona are in front of us and may avoid taking a QB in round one. HOWEVER, those teams will likely take a pick from the thick group of 2nd-round talents. On top of that, the Jets move ahead of us in the 2nd round draft order and will likely be looking for a QB there. If we want to get "our" guy, or one of the "two" guys that Nix has said are likely somewhere in this draft then we'll have to move up. Just pray this Kolb pickup doesn't mean they're going to just settle for whatever falls to them at 41. EDIT: My apologies for ignoring the fact that they could trade DOWN from 8, which would be a smart move.

Solid job. But that's a reach for Jones, he's a 3rd rounder. Hunt won't last that long. Thomas likely goes earlier, as well. I like people talking about how Barkley doesn't have much upside, but he's probably got the most out of anybody in the draft...

With $17M to spend what FAs should Bills sign??
SBUffalo replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those are the three guys I immediately pinpointed. Plus a CB like Mike Jenkins or Deangelo Hall. -
It's time to get THEIR guy, no matter what
SBUffalo replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The course is much more complex than that. And blogging is a MAJOR aspect of journalism today. To ignore it's importance is a huge mistake. -

Brown never started a game for the Bills, despite playing in a few. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowTr01.htm -

SBUffalo replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. I get paid in tuition bills. And yes, that's the point of the post. Too many people sit there and talk about how the Bills should do this, the Bills should do that. What I'm pointing out is that the Bills should do what THEY want. Get THEIR guy. But it also stresses that they need to do whatever it takes to get THEIR guy. No longer can they mess around. I want certain guys more than others, but I'm going to try and trust them on whatever decision they make (unless they pull some absolute garbage like Dysert/Jones at 8). -
wp.me/p34Shl-2d Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Edwards, Brian Brohm, J.P. Losman, Kelly Holcomb, Drew Bledsoe, Alex Van Pelt, Rob Johnson and Todd Collins. That’s the list of quarterbacks the Buffalo Bills have started since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly retired following the 1996 season. Three first round picks, a second rounder, a third rounder and an eight rounder. That’s the list of what it has taken to acquire them all. Drew Bledsoe, Doug Flutie. That’s the list of Bills’ quarterbacks since Kelly that have started an entire season outside of the Buffalo Bills’ organization. Hit the link to read more please! This is part of a blog I'm doing for a class here at college. Obviously relates to the Bills. Just my feeling on the quarterback situation. Thanks for supporting.

I wouldn't draft him higher than the 5th round, but I would love to get him there if possible.

Fred Davis FA TE has dinner with Bills brass

Would be an outstanding pickup if he comes cheap like I expect he would. -
Give me a QB in the first and Sean Renfree late.

Gibson interested in bills but bills never called
SBUffalo replied to NishP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quite frankly they're wasting a chance. Stevie is doing his best to recruit guys, but nobody in management is listening. -
47.5 mill max. So just over 9 mill.
