  1. You can't IR a player who doesn't actually have a major injury.
  2. 8-8 was a stretch before the injuries. Now it's a near impossibility. We'd be better off struggling while EJ is out and getting the best possible pick.
  3. Let me say this: I like EJ. I do. His attitude is fantastic. But... He hasn't really shown a whole lot so far. The footwork is atrocious. If that doesn't change he'll never be an NFL QB. This upcoming draft class is jam packed full of great NFL prospects. I would be willing to take another QB in the first if it's someone like Bridgewater, Mariota, Hundley or MAYBE Boyd. Other than that, I wouldn't want anybody. I mean, what would we draft otherwise? The team is young all over. I would want a linebacker like Barr, Mosely or Mack over just about anything, but other than that we would be looking at a safety or a guard which really isn't what you want to be taking in the first round. This franchise has been without a legitimate quarterback for too long to pass up on a GOOD NFL prospect. EJ never was a "good NFL prospect." I do think EJ could turn into a very good NFL QB, don't get me wrong. But it's about opportunities. With all that said, there's ZERO percent chance we draft a QB in the first round.
  4. I am already in tank mode. This season was about helping our HOPEFULLY future franchise QB develop. Now not even that can happen. Tank for the best pick. Let's gather some talent and get back at it next year.
  5. I'd welcome the addition if it means they cut Summers. Otherwise it makes zero sense and would be another move that does nothing to help this team.
  6. Maybe the reason that you don't think that your superstition is the right one or helps is because you haven't found the right one yet.
  7. Unfortunately didn't look too hot in coverage. Saw him floating a lot.
  8. Base salary and cap hit aren't the same thing... With that said, Mario will "restructure" his deal. Basically he got a two year deal with the chance for more that will almost 100% be picked up. So, to make him feel more secure, they'll restructure his salary into roster bonuses that he'll receive up front that will bring his cap number down.
  9. Per NFL rules, if a player is listed on the injury report at any point during the week then he is required to have a designation on Friday (or Tuesday if you're the Thursday game).
  10. The team listed him as probable. Therefore the text would list him as probable.
  11. Nothing there says that the report is untrue. He has never once said he wants to be here. I loved Byrd, but every step of this process has made me hate him.
  12. Kind of. The clause is that if you franchise tag a player non-exclusively then other teams can negotiate. If he signs a deal elsewhere then the original team has the right to either match or take the first rounders. In negotiated trades you can give up far less.
  13. How do you know they're keen on running an offense with two good TEs? This is the first year they've had two good tight ends for as long as I remember. That doesn't mean they're keen on anything. They've always been known for taking best player available. Gresham could likely be had for the right price.
  14. Because that's how you have dead money laying around to players who hate it here. Trade him for something useful and move on. Since the Bengals just drafted a TE in the first round, do you think they'd do Byrd for Gresham?
  15. There are reasons they don't talk about stuff like this. They don't know what it means yet. They're still gathering information and still trying to figure out a plan of action. If they go and put "breaking news: biggest threat to humanity ever blah blah" then everybody goes into a panic. You never want a mass of people going into a panic. That's why these things aren't talked about on the news.
  16. Oh, I know. I'm not saying he doesn't mean it. But there are plenty of players who don't even say it. They just avoid it altogether. He says it and means it. I have no idea how a quarterback from the south would ever be unhappy with being in Buffalo. None at all.
  17. False. Every report was that he looked so good in camp that he was going to be their starter. Now he's hurt. If this is how everybody thinks than EJ is a bust already because, outside of Buffalo, not much was being said about him and then he got hurt. I love how people lack an understanding of how small markets work. Until you win a championship or do something controversial enough to get on ESPN then your team and every player on it is irrelevant. This doesn't mean that they're bad, though.
  18. One non-EJ note: somebody really needed to stop that annoying screaming lady (probably his mother) that was interrupting Marcus Lattimore's phone call. She was screaming so loud he couldn't hear, so he tried running away but she started crawling over chairs and stuff just to follow him and scream some more. The one thing that I've LOVED about EJ through the whole process is how much he openly expresses his satisfaction with being in Buffalo and being a Bill. He always goes out of his way to say he wants to be here and he loves being here. Really love that, even if he doesn't mean it.
  19. Debatable. Chandler needed 29 yards. He had less than that five times last year (not including the Miami game that he was hurt in). To be more fair, he needed 54 coming into the game. He had 11 games under that (just four over).
  20. To Matt Flynn's defense, he lost to two guys who play more to the new style of offense in the NFL. He really did nothing to "lose" these jobs, but he also didn't necessarily do a whole lot to win them. (He played very poorly against Chicago this preseason but Chicago's defense was crazy in that game).
  21. Pretty solid. Impressive to get Spiller at 10/11. I'm assuming you went Spiller at 10 and Manning at 11?
  22. I still like Tyler Wilson and think he'll find a place somewhere in the NFL.
  23. PETA is such a joke
  24. Cool idea for a fantasy football team, but otherwise: Why the shield? Is this some sort of bionic bull with a cage for eyes?
  25. Marcus Trufant would be our best option.
