As much as I’m with all of you, Bills Brass must believe in him. To go into this year with Floyd, Groot, Shaq. King Jonathan, and AJE, they’re going to be relying on him to play significant snaps again this season before the return of DE1 AJE was anywhere from 20%-60% of snaps throughout the regular season last year, with being consistently in the 45ish range the last few week of the regular season and into the playoffs. I expect that number to remain pretty consistent again this year, especially early on.

It just feels like their first read options, for whatever reason, are not available or taken. Lots to like about the drive with Allen yesterday to start with 6, but the passing game just felt to me as it did all last year: The immediate look wasn’t there, and now it’s the Josh Allen show. It’s not sustainable. Im not sure if this is a product of lack of scheme (I get it, vanilla preseason, etc), player ability to separate, poor reads with the ball or a combination of all these items. Either way, I have this sense that we’re going to see a lot of off script throws.

I have two thoughts on this: 1) Is this a GOOD thing that our depth a CB is so strong, or a BAD thing that we can’t even figure out who CB2 should be… 2) If it is the former, then you have to seriously wonder if moving on from Tre White is in play next season.

How do you know the bolded to be true? I think you could easily argue the opposite. If playing a quarter of a preseason game is impacting how a player fatigues or recovers from injury, they’ve got bigger problems. Im not the biggest McD fan but purely from a viewing standpoint, I’m happy we get to see the mustangs

Especially when you consider the pure # of snaps they need to replace. It’s not like your CB2 who could rotate in or DT who is playing on a rotational level. Edmunds was a 100% snap player. That’s a ton of burn to expose to liabilities.
