They also let you bring whatever you'd like along. That way you don't have to worry about a DD. It could be pricey, but you're only getting married once (or so we hope!). A 7th wide out would carry far more ST value than any reserve OL.

Even though we call Smith a block tight end, he is still pass eligible. Unlike a 6th OLineman, he has the 'threat' to run a route. If you bring in a 6th OLineman, better believe its 8 in the box with no way to counter it.

This position undoubtedly needs an upgrade. Why do we not need a blocking TE? They used 12 personnel quite often in the Red Zone last season. Moekei has shown zero, a significant and reoccuring injury for a player who appears to already have peaked. Smith also filled a special teams role on Kick Return last season. Can Moekei handle that?

If you want to win games, you have to spend money at positions of need. Whaley saw a team need and did what he could. Amen.

Until we see some live action, the RB position is really hard to evaluate. I wonder how they will break down the preseason snaps at the position

Couldn't agree more. Moekei hasn't shown anything since coming on late last year. Smith is our best blocker and Gragg could possibly develop into a Delanie Walker type role. cya tony.

I hope someone is dumb enough to offer something high for him. I think his big play potential is great but i dont see him being a back fit for this offense.

I know exactly what you mean. He seemed to have more of a free release, let it fly attitude. Last year he seemed to over-think the easy ones. I think it was a combination of youth, indecision and lack of reps. I have no notes on Lawson. Not to say he wasn't playing well, I just wasn't as focused on him. Searcy seemed like he knows whats going on. I'm skeptical because idk how Schwartz uses his safety, but I think he'll be the guy for us at SS when we open up at Chicago. I don't see Duke or anyone pushing him. This comment is spot on. It is so hard to get a good evaluation during camp. Everyone looks like a hero. In reality, they are all professional athletes and we can't ever know until it counts. But what I'm really interested in is seeing how he handles the pressure. Our defense was relentless yesterday and I hope they bring the heat on him all camp. It will be a good way for him to continue to develop his footwork. true. maybe I over scrutinized.
