Today was dig day. I loaded up on beverages in the cooler and donuts to try and buy a little extra love from the dig crew. Turns out it worked: after a lot of back and forth as the crew was arriving, we finally settled on a plan that benefited all. The entire operation was extremely impressive. They had 14 people working different jobs from assembling steel walls, gluing piping, trenching, digging, reading grade and leveling dirt. Part of our arrangement was that we’d keep all the dirt on site, limiting the amount of dig time and not needing as many heavy machinery trips. I was able to ask them to regrade the yard with the fill, hopefully rectifying some long standing water issues we’ve had in the wet season. It’s a double edged sword: we know the extra muddy mess sucks now for the dogs, but will be glad to hopefully reap the benefits of years to come while speeding up the job. Another side effect of a speedy dig, was that they were able to set and backfill the steel walls quickly. By 11 am they were making calls seeing if it was possible to fit the traditional day 2 of liner install into today. With the green light (and the greenbacks) they brought in the cement and worked well into the evening. The liner is in and the pool currently filling. We have one cut power line to an exterior outlet (they are fixing when they send the electrician to hook up the rest of the mechanics) and a lot of ground to rehab, but we could not have asked for a better experience so far. Fingers crossed the rest of the way is as smooth.

This feels like one of those games that’s already been written in stone.

Mahomes is unreal. But I have to admit he seems to be a little more loose with the ball this season

What time to show up for tailgating on Monday?
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. Although I believe they have a designated drop off/pick up zone for ride sharing so you may be limited as to where you are taken and picked up. -

My tailgate started when I cracked a Big Ditch “No Punts Intended” a few minutes ago. -

Bills vs Jags Game Week Thread - MNF
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was my thought, although I am not sure what the deadline is to retroactively place on IR. I imagine there is one, but don’t necessarily think it’s by the following week’s game. I can’t find anything supporting this so maybe a better question for Sal 😭 -
Bills vs Jags Game Week Thread - MNF
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you’re referring to Bernard, I thought that the IR date could be retroactive to last game by X day following the game. I am not sure if it matters at all when their next game is, but rather when the injury occurred -

Jets D lookin very average -
As much as I’d love to blame this on the dolphins, it’s 100% on the player. They know the risks. This isn’t 1995. There are no secrets when it comes to the potential side effects and long term implications. I’m not saying it’s fair, or an easy position for him to be in…no do I blame him, but it’s Tua’s career/life/decision and passing off blame from the decision maker is unnecessarily seeking blame

Has where you grew up changed a lot?
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
100% Although to be fair, I am not sure if it’s changed from when I grew up or my perspective has changed how I perceive it. I grew up in a house on a cross street off of two major roads. Good home. Decent yard, no neighbors immediately in our space, semi-rural with fields around us. I always thought of it as lesser than many of my friends homes, especially those who lived in newer developments. Not necessarily in terms of size or quality, but in that it was not part of those desirable areas. At the time, I found those neighborhoods enticing. They were classic white picket fence suburban utopia. Close enough for me to ride my bike, but far enough to feel like I never belonged. Fast forward 10-20 years: I moved to the city, chasing the nightlight and experiences, and then found myself slowly working from down town, to north buffalo, then to Amherst, to east Amherst and now out to Clarence in an area much like which I grew up. I find it funny that I always thought I wanted to live in one of those developments. As much as I did enjoy it for the 5 years we were there, I’ve found where we are now to be more liberating in terms of truly living how I’d like. All that being said, when I go back to where I grew up to visit my parents, I have an appreciation for their property and driving through those neighborhoods I used to envy make me chuckle as I now look at how divided and broken the Properties seem (smaller lots, neighbors all around, etc) I am Not sure if this is where I’ll die, but I am happy here for now and proud to raise my family in a similar area to where I grew up. I wonder if my kids will be like I did, or theyll appreciate it more in real time. to each their own! -
Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
EmotionallyUnstable replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here to eat some Crow (hopefully) Been a doubter since the injury, gave him patience and grace last season, but did not see a spark week 1 making me feel uninspired despite the sack. Last game felt different, albeit vs some reserve talent. If he can continue on this path, our rush could be dangerous. I’ll gladly own up to it -
Random talking head says something about the Bills

For what it’s worth, Tom Brady is a voter too https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/heres-the-full-list-of-the-50-ap-awards-voters -
Factoring into this whole equation is the 2025 free agent pool from the Bills whose contracts are expiring. You know Beane loves to sign our own. Rasul Douglas is the most prominent name. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2025/team/buf/sort/contract_value Not listed is Groot, has another year due to the 5th year option the Bills picked up although I expect an extension from him, too.
