  1. Attention Cap Gurus: Where do we stand? How will this deal affect our ability to spend via FA?
  2. This is awesome. The extentionsion will happen
  3. I can't comprehend how someone would let him walk
  4. 2 additional first round picks seems extremely fair, especially considering our current QB situation
  5. Changed my vote to Non-exclusive. The more I look at it, there really isn't a huge risk.
  6. Non-Exclusive Tag: Average of the top 5 player salaries over the past five seasons Exclusive Tag: Average of the top 5 player salaries during the current league year. An old Flacco article for source, so it appears there is a difference http://russellstreetreport.com/2013/02/13/street-talk/whats-the-difference-between-exclusive-non-exclusive-franchise-tags/
  7. Any idea how much less the non-exclusive tag is than the approx. 13.5 for exclusive?
  8. Let it be a warning to Doug and Rex that off the field issues DO in fact impact performance.
  9. They need the cap room for for free agency, which is before the draft. Plus, no one wants to absorb that contract. They'll wait till he hits the FA market. Though this would be best case scenario, idt he makes it through February.
  10. Could someone explain why if you plan to tag him, would you do some with the transitional, rather than the non-exclusive tag?
  11. I was fully expecting this to be Denver's Brandon Marshall...wrong again.
  12. Just want to add Rex's draft history as a reason that they'll select a DT @ 19. Between 2009-2014, 6 of 7 first round picks for the Jets were either a DT or DB ( 3 DTs, 2CBs and a S) It's obvious what Rex values. Given the current team needs and depth at the position, I would not be surprised to see the Bills go DT in the first
  13. Given his age, injury history and the depth at DL in the upcoming draft, I would guess it would be Kyle
  14. I know, sorry, I hoped to do so but can't figure it out on my iPhone Tried to fix it
  15. Idk that this thread is the place for this arguement but I keep seeing people saying the same thing. "Getting a true 2 gap NT will free up Dareus" I just don't think that is true. He will still, on many occasions, be asked to play with two gap responsibility.
  16. This is just as good of an excuse as someone who has torn an ACL. You could probably find questionable health issues about all players. Good kidney, good knee, etc. Idt there is any health concerns with Glenn than there would be with anyone else
  17. Great write up and o agree completely.
  18. In 2012 Nix was calling the shots, no? So I wonder how Whaley views him.
  19. Su'a Cravens is this. Round 3.
  20. With the transition tag, you risk the chance of losing Glenn if he's offered something they silly cannot match. Though that specifically wouldn't hurt them, the lost time when they could pursue a FA replacement does.
  21. Don't you see the tag as an opportunity to extend talks, driving both sides to make a long term deal. 5 of 6 tagged players last year reached long term deals after being tagged. The only exception was JPP
  22. I think this is right. He is a solid player at a position of importance. Even if he doesn't play under the tag, placing it on him to keep him off the market seems worth the risk to me.
