Devil’s Advocate because why not: those of you who say wins and losses are all that matters, is that how you assess other positional groups too? if so, should we be content with our entire offensive production? the people who try to analyze positional players are trying to look at these players in a vacuum. A lot of factors aren’t taken into account, and you should be aware of it, not mad about it. I get that some people feel the need to defend Allen at all costs, but he is fine, and knows that he has to improve. that’s what I was trying to get at. There is a small group of people unwilling to acknowledge the fact that Allen has struggled at times.

It’s amazing looking at the position they e put themselves in: even if they go 4-2 through this stretch (a conservative estimate) they’d be 8-3 and positioned quite nicely for a wild card at minimum.

We live and breathe football here in buffalo. a quick story for you all... A good friend of mine that I grew up with is a Vikings fan. He wears the purple and yellow, he follows the team, and swears he is true fan. Yet, this is his 4th year with season tickets to the Bills. His friends are so deeply entrenched into the red and blue that he has no other option but to partake and has for years, week after week, wearing Bills jerseys and celebrating in our victories and wallowing in our defeats. I was talking to him a few weeks ago, as I always bust his chops that he is a bigger Bills fan than Vikings, to which he denies. I told him, “you’ve seen more bills games in person this year than Vikings games on tv”... ...he just smiled and said, “nobody circles the wagons, baby!” There is no experience quite like it. And I don’t just mean going to the game. It is our heart beat, a pulse that connects us all. Neighbors, friends and strangers can all back it, because at the end of the day it’s our city and our community and we take pride in it!

I completely disagree. I don’t know how you can ignore the fact that they are giving up two future draft picks, and say it doesn’t impact their future. I agree, as I said elsewhere, its 100% a win now move. And as you said, we’ll see if it works or he plays to an all-pro level. But it’s hard for me to see how trading such heavily valued draft capital can be seen as not jeopardizing the future.

Two first round picks gone with a below average QB on a huge contract...IDC how good you are, they are mortgaging their future to try and win now.
