I’m all for a thread tracking AFC performances, standings and projections. It’s finally a year where we can confidently be in the thick of things. It’s fun to look at the possibilities, even if we are getting ahead of ourselves I hope if they can’t win the East, they finish in the 5th seed and will travel to whatever North team comes out from that garbage...hoping the Browns!

I usually will watch the local pregame after listening to WGR before the game. I never watch the half time or post coverage, as I’m looking at other games, fantasy scores or highlights. if you’re looking for an alternative on Sundays, check out NFL’s mobile app. You can ever the highlights from each game complete with the broadcast crew’s original play call. There is no fluff, no comments from Pats guys or national media members relentlessly clinging to Brady’s sweaty jock.

One drunk night we floated this idea: What if they removed 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalties. Specifically, late hits, helmet to helmet, etc. and instead of punishing the team with yardage, simply ejected the offending player. The theory would be that players would be more conscious of their actions because they would be only hurting themselves. How often is a game or drive derailed or extended due to a dumb penalty that was unwarranted? It can make the game unwatchable. Small offenses for 15 yard penalties would not be called any more while the larger, more egregious penalties would be severely punished. It wouldn’t make the game same necessarily, but maybe more watchable
