Shakir Should Not Be Inactive
EmotionallyUnstable replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those players are almost solely slot guys Doyle Morris Lewis Shakir Lawson -
Maybe I missed this discussed via McD post game, or the discussion on here… The Bills leave themselves short handed on the outside with just Diggs, Davis, Kumerow when Shakir is inactive. An injury to our #1 or #2 would have us forced to use certain personnel, with Knox as the split end, or possibly force Kumerow into action. I think TD Jesus is a capable WR, but I’d rather have the rook be available to step in, instead of have all three RBs (Single, Moss, Cook) active each week. It is not necessary. Thoughts?

Jalen Ramseys initial PFF grade for the game
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
If his feet moved half as fast as his mouth, he’d be a perennial all-pro. Instead, he plays CB with his eyes too often, relying on his athletic ability to pick him up, and he can’t account for the difference. If you talk a lot of *****, be prepared to taste it. -

Week 1, Bills v. Rams, 09/08/2022, GAME BALLS

Oprah out here like… EVERYBODY GET A GAME BALLLLL -
@Simon “Von Miller might still be the best dipper on planet Earth” This dude is an artist. He thoroughly understands the chess match that is a pass rush. When you see him set up a guy, by running the wheel around the QB one play, and then coming back on the next snap with a interior shoulder bull rush totally catching the OT on his heels, is a thing of beauty. His bend is smooth as butter and knows how to use those heavy handed lineman’s foreword lean against them. I am absolutely thrilled that he is a member of this team, and I can’t wait to see how this rotation can continue to wreck the game and allow our young CBs to not have such a burden on their shoulders

Week 1, Bills v. Rams, 09/08/2022, GAME BALLS
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haha I’m one of them! He was undoubtably all over, made convincing tackles and was in the thick of things in both run support and passing lanes all night. I don’t think he’ll get the $$$ he wants here, but he definitely played well tonight. -
How confident are you going into tonight's game?

For those of you who can’t find the pizza for price or taste, just make your own! It’s become a sort of weekly tradition in our house. Wegmans or Niagara Produce dough, and add sauce/toppings to your liking. We’ve gotten into the habit of freezing left over meats for toppings. Tomorrow we have some fresh cup and char, will chop up some veggies (mushroom/pepper/onion) and add some spicy Italian sausage I have saved from a grill session a few weeks back. Home made pizza Hot banana pepper dip (locally grown peppers) Chips and bison dip blue light i usually love my IPAs but Friday is a work day so we’ll keep it light for tmrws boozin -

Deep down I will never forget it. But I am not mad, nor ever have been. Let’s just go get this super bowl dub

Call me old fashioned, I just think it dilutes the title. It’s my preference a team has 2-3. Makes sense the way McDermott does it, and I can’t question his leadership so the more the merrier?

Week 1: Bills at Rams on TNF in NFL Kickoff Game
EmotionallyUnstable replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s not. and they rely on passing the ball way more than they need dominant road graders. I like Brown but I didn’t mind Quessenbury at RT either. as far as all pro, I hope you’re right! -
Jerry Hughes might be my favorite bill over the last 10 years. That being said…. 40>55. The roster didn’t see major overhauls, but did make improvements in certain particular areas (DE, OL, RB, QB, WR). If you wanted to argue the other side of that, you could say that CB MIGHT be weaker than at the beginning of last year, mostly due to two rookies and an injured all-pro. QB….+ RB….+ FB….= WR…+ TE….= OL….+ DE….+ DT….+ LB….= CB….- S……= Specials….=

Someone’s I envy this. Complete focus. Enjoy it! I have to work Thursday and Friday…so the food/drink combo will be relatively simple. Nothing set for sure, but probably doing homemade pizza on the Blackstone, with wing dip and guac. I haven’t been drinking IPAs lately, but love me a good Hayburner for a fall ball game. Now I’m excited.

Offensive Formations and Personnel
EmotionallyUnstable replied to freddyjj's topic in The Stadium Wall
IIRC, the bills lead the league in % snaps from 11 personnel last year. I don’t see that changing under Dorsey, and I highly doubt Kromer is going to be having much influence on this. From on offensive lineman’s standpoint, they are often unaware of what the personnel on the field is. It’s quite funny when you think about it. They operate in their own realm while the skills players operate in another. You can see it in the huddle, you can hear it called in the verbiage in the plays, and yet they are still so dependent on one another even without this knowledge. I think another interesting question to pose is the percentage or total raw snaps we’ll see for all of these skills players. idk where to find this data, but it might be interesting if someone were able to find the % of snaps guys played last year over the course of the year (given they were healthy). you could then look at what percentage of snaps do the bills need to replace from the previous year. For example, Beasley played X amount of snaps…so is that going to absorbed into McKenzie’s role, distributed amongst newcomers or what? -
Offensive Formations and Personnel
EmotionallyUnstable replied to freddyjj's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just to clarify, not that it matters because we all catch your drift - 10 is the personnel. It refers to the number of RBs and TEs on the field. For example, 10 would equate to 1RB,0TEs, 21 being 2RBs,1TE. The personnel does not indicate the formation, although it can heavily impact what formation may be called. To use your example, you can have a 2x2 or doubles set out of 10 personnel, 11 personnel or anything really. Utilizing multiple personnel groupings within a single formation gives teams flexibility, and allows them to try and find advantages in 1v1 match ups based on alignments. Because defenses are constantly aware of what personnel grouping is being run onto the field by the offense, they generally match their defenders to how they see best fit to defend that down and distance with those particular players. the advantage becomes obvious when teams can use different packages, like 12 personnel, to run an extra LB on the field, and then line up or motion in a way that allows that extra LB to be forced into a coverage situation that is not ideal. The same can be said with the run game. It truly is a chess match.
