As others have mentioned, I think they’ll keep him out another week backed up to the mini-bye with 10 days off… If he is truly ready to go, the saddle up for THURSDAY because he would be a large addition to an already decimated defense. Edmunds return would be equally, if not more, important this week. Based off what I’ve seen from Klien, it wouldn’t surprise me if they erred on the side of caution and also gave the 10 days off to fully heal. Morse will likely go IMO, as having finished the Browns game, he couldn’t be too banged up. A short week likely played into his absence. Dawkins falls into the same area as Groot IMO…ankle sprain likely looking at a week off leading to 17 days from injury to his return.

Rhodes signed to 53, Benford to IR
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Stash Benford on IR with White/Elam/Dane/Rhodes on the active roster. Could keep him there all year if they choose. In fact, they very well might. -
Roll call- who’s going to the Bills-Pats game?
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopefully you won’t have to! -
Any big name WRs or OL in the Michigan/OSU game to watch?

Was he injured in the final play of the half that Brown (yet again) gets beat around the edge? Dawkins did not play a great game. But I have to imagine it was better than what Q gave us.

Dorsey Play Design Issues
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Makes me wonder, what do these film room and install days look like in the QB and offensive rooms… Dorsey: “alright here’s the game plan” Allen: J. Brady: What is the back and forth conversation that is happening? Is Allen having a hand in this process? It was my understanding one of the main reasons people were excited about retaining and promoting Dorsey was because Allen and him had a good working rapport and seemed to be on the same page with a lot of things. Does Dorsey explain the “why” behind their scheme and game plan to allen, and if so, what questions are being asked? Is Allen always on board? How about McDermott? Joe Brady? Keenum? It will never come out because of how well and buttoned up this team appears to be in regards to keeping things in house, but I am dying to know what the film study and install day conversations/thoughts and discussions look like -
Thank you. I encourage everyone on this board to find some perspective: In regards to rushing defense, we still rank: 5th in points allowed per game (18.1 p/g) 8th in rushing yards per game (106 y/g) We are winning the battle up front with stout DL play despite being devistated with injuries all around the defense. As backwards as it may sound, the Pats are more likely to find success through the air vs the Bills than with the run. I hope they ramp up the man coverage this week. I know a few of the Pats WRs were dinged (Myers, returned to the game, Agohlor at the end) but with the hopeful return of Edmunds/Milano on Hunter Henry and White/Elam working back towards full strength, it makes sense to me to devote more rushers to try and get Mac rattled. We are missing our #1 pass rushing threat and I don’t think lining up 4 and playing zone repeatedly will get it done against their passing attack. My 2 cents Yes, 100%. They’re making great reads/stops and allowing too many yards after contact.

3rd and 1 from the Lions 47 with 4:16 left in the first. Shotgun snap, draw to Singletary. We have 7 to block 8. Unblocked DT #96 taken out of the play by an immediate jump cut by Motor and he puts his foot in the ground and plows ahead for the first down. Nothing revolutionary, extravogent or ultra impressive. Just a reliable RB1 who can get it done.

My entirely uninformed medical prediction (as that appears to be a thing) is that he doesn’t play Thursday, but returns for the next Sunday home vs. the Jets. That’ll be 17 days from injury to game time, which seems like adequate recovery time based on the way he was moving around after the game

Patriots @ Vikings - Turkey Day Special
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
I REALLY hope Fraiser dials up more man coverage next week and brings pressure. They’ve been more willing to do so as of late, but the injury to Von, and the return of White and Elam have me thinking they can rattle Jones and hold up on the back end -

EmotionallyUnstable replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s the same phenomenon as when a player acts like he catches a pass that he clearly didn’t…like bro, you KNOW they have cameras and replays all up in this place. Just, why? -
Injuries have been wild. If they’d clean up the missed tackles, it’d be even more unbelievable. The amount of times they’ve bailed out our underperforming offense with quality defensive performances is notable especially with the number of back-ups we’ve trotted out all over the field. People don’t like watching this defense because it is frustrating to swallow. It’s also frustrating to offenses who face us. Imagine that at full strength with pass-rushers full force and good coverage on the back end.

Is Von already ruled out, or just suspected due to severity with injury of this nature?

Dane Jackson was toast 😬
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d love to know what technique they teach to PBI while in phase. Dane can’t make a play on the ball, but can he at least hammer an arm or something? -
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by getting torched? Out of position, or just beat? Elam and White in man compared to Benford and Jackson is a whole lot different

Re:bolded - I meant the clip of Cook reading a block, single clip. You can’t qualify his ability by if he rushed for 1000 yards…as he does not see a similar work load to other top RBs. Look at last years statistics: 188 carries for 870 yards. The fewest number of carries a 1k rusher saw was 228. Given he ran last year averaging 4.6 ypc, an additional 40 carries (+184 yards) last year would have put him around 1054 yards. That’s right on par with: Derrick Henry 207 carries for 937 yards Zeke Elliot - 237 carries for 1002 yards Antonio Gibson - 258 carries 1057 yards I am not suggesting he is any of those backs. I am supporting my point that his production is effected by his usage, and you cannot dismiss him as being unproven because he hasn’t reach some arbitrary statistical landmark.

I hope this team starts to play more man coverage if/when Elam and White can return. Tough ask to do with Von/Groot/Epinessa all injured and back-up quality CBs getting the start.

Bills at Lions - Post Game Thread
EmotionallyUnstable replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn’t read through yet but I thought this was an interesting observation: First Half Motion - Man to man coverage bumped, no trailing players but passed them off. This often created St. Brown in advantageous matchups Second Half Motion - Man to man coverage runs with and trails assignment, no passing off players. I haven’t rewatched but it was an interesting adjustment that I noticed early after the half. Anyone else notice anything along these lines? I was hoping they would have played more man coverage but losing Von probably played a role in this. -
We’ll find out next year, no matter what. Simgletary likely won’t be back with this team as a back up, or a starter, due to the financial restraints this team will make. You can post a video that shows Cook making a good cut. There are 100 more for Singletary doing the same. The photo you posted re: Singletary was heavily discussed and questioned the accuracy due to it being a still shot and lack of EZ angle. You can pick and choose videos, photos and statistics all you want to support your claim. When it comes down to it, THIS YEAR, it isn’t even close who is the more reliable and appropriate option for this team to lean on. Again, Singletary has years as a proven rusher, receiver and pass protector. Cool is a pipe dream for the future that I fear Beane reached on. We can disagree, that is fine. I never said he was the truth a RB, or an all pro, or even a pro bowler. But I guarantee you in NFL circles he garners a ton of respect from players and coaches for his abilities and results on the field.

DaQuan Jones Appreciation Thread
EmotionallyUnstable replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I gotta bump this. Dude absolutely balled out and played like a mad man today. Shout out to him, Big Ed and Settle for showing up against the run and being our saving grace in as pass rushers while we’re down our two starting DEs. I can’t wait to watch the film.
