This is what I believe too. Whaley and whomever the Bills hire as head coach have two years to make the playoffs or else they will both be gone early January 2019.

Why does anybody guess at who the next coach is? All these wasted posts. It's so obvious it's going to be Lynn. There is NO suspense here at all. Remember this if anyone wants to doubt it. It's already decided.

He is clueless. The Bills are no closer to the playoffs. They have regressed the last three years. But finally Whaley is out in an island. No more excuses. It's his head that is firmly on the chopping block next when this team continues to miss the playoffs.

Exactly. Not buying this at all. Pegulas and more importantly Russ realize people have soured on him and it creates bad press if they admitted he was involved. This is all just a show to appease fans that want Brandon far away from football matters. He is still involved. They are just trying to convince us he's not to gain points with us. There is ZERO point in winning his game. Nothing good comes from it. No reason to get mad when EJ still sucks and the defense can't stop anyone. Today, for once, doesn't matter AND actually helps us. This should be the least stressful Bills game we've had to watch in quite a while.

There is ZERO chance Jeff Fisher will ever go back down to being a coordinator. You don't spend two decades as a head coach and then regress. It'll never happen.

The Bills will not hire a big name coach. Any "big" name coach will want partial or more likely total control of the roster. Power that the Bills, with Whaley currently holding that power, and also coincidently running the search will never cede. Whaley will find someone that he can control, hence, it will be a first time head coach. Forget Coughlin. Think more along the lines of Lynn or Kyle Shanahan.

This article is so dead on, it's beyond amazing to me how people who follow this team so closely can so easily dismiss this and other articles like it. Why Pegula is so afraid of blowing this thing up is beyond me. Like the article says, he will regret not doing it now and we will be right back in this position in two years.

If Whaley thought things were tough before today, he hasn't seen anything yet. And it's just as it should be. He's made guarantees in the past that he had built a playoff team. To this point he hasn't. He's running out of excuses. He better pick the best coach this franchise has ever seen, short of Marv Levy, cause the GM is the next to go when things fail again.

I find it hilarious that people hate Bucky so much that they can't see the truth in what he wrote today. Bucky is definitely overly negative and has been for years with the Bills and Sabres. He also ISNT wrong. In my opinion he is dead on with this article almost 100%. Anyone that follows the Sabres should see that history is repeating itself with the Bills. The Pegulas haven't learned. Here's hoping they will before it's too late.

I have no idea how anyone listens to the crap Murphy spews. He is beyond horrible with his show. No one should take anything he says seriously. Maybe this will get him one step closer to the door as well. Doubtful, since he is the captain of the Bills cheerleading squad.

^exactly^. The team can't admit this obviously. But there is NOTHING to gain by winning this final game. For once they are doing the right thing and are tanking a game to gain a better draft pick.

It's also about if we lose we draft 9th. If we win, we draft 15-19th. Doug is thinking about the 2017 draft.

And this team deserves every bit of it. Something tells me you haven't been around the past 17 years. And certainly don't remember what GREAT teams(1990-1993) look like.

The Bills and Whaley are actually doing something smart by playing EJ vs the Jets. Almost guarantees we lose and will secure the 9th overall pick. Although not a fan of him but thank you Doug. At least someone is thinking ahead.
