I still believe in EJ Manuel
Noodlearm replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ has to prove himself. Has rest of season. He wasn't that accurate in college. If he flops, and a top prospect is available, at a high draft position take him. At that point write him off with the list of bad top draft picks, -
Belichick and Pats Wanted EJ Manuel

Why don't we get the guy back who corrected Fitz's footwork? Made a huge diff! -
My Thoughts Got Blown Up......
Noodlearm replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Qbs switched teams, score would be reversed or even more in Bills favor. Shows value of recognizing Talent at the QB position and not to belabor the obvious, one of the main reasons we're in the situation weve been in, seems like forever. I like EJ too and hope he is the answer but he is still unproven. Lewis may be a good backup, hoepfully a better backup than Fitz has proven to be (and he was our franchise QB!!!). -
Aaron Maybin - LB, Toronto Argonauts

One of the many ham and eggers that hit the lottery because of our front office incompetance. Maybe Fitz can join him some day. At least they have something of careers. After JP, Mike Williams, Rob Johnson and a host of others left it didn't take other NFL teams much time to see their true abililities. -
If Thad gets a hot hand and gets us into WC contention over the next month, you have to stick with what is working. I like EJ also but he wasn't exactly lighting it up, time will tell. How can anyone have a very strong opinion at this point? See how it plays out. At the least Thad will be a good backup.

With all of the injuries espec. at QB, the record is not important this year. What is is that they have never given up are competitive for the most part in every game, and are much better conditioned and certainly coached than they have been in forever. We also may find a good backup or better at QB after this is all over as well. They also seem to enjoy being out there and stick up for each other, even when it results in the occasional penalty. When was the last time we saw that? I even remember towards the end of Kelly's career Brian Cox taking a run at him and noone doing a thing about it. Wouldn't happen with this group.

I heard the text is still active in Toronto! Couldn't they have done this to us in the offseason? Guess the return on investment wasn't high enough for the texts. Can't they do anything for us for free?

How about this defense with Jabaree Greer and Drayton Florence? And they almost lost Fred Jackson because they didn't want to pay him either. Everytime we've had a playmaker and his contract is up, there are a dozen reasons why it doesn't "make sense" to pay. It only doesn't make sense if you don't care about fielding a competitive team! The only way that business model (not resigning star players) works (see Tampa Rays or Oakland As in baseball) is if you can draft impact replacements which hasn't happened here for a while. Hopefully things will change. If they are not considering Josh Freeman to avoid a qb controversy the season is lost, and I mean four wins max.

The Bills have Released Punter Shawn Powell
Noodlearm replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cutting people loose for poor performance, what gives? If they did this last year we wouldn't have had a coaching staff after 2 games! -
Fred Jackson fumbling
Noodlearm replied to Don't stop billievein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yesterdays win was a team effort, and Bills would not have one without the picks. But there is no doubt they wouldn't have won without Jackson's efforts. When healthy one of the best. Spiller not up to his level yet, hopefully sometime soon. -
Bills to wear throwbacks this week
Noodlearm replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My god, I never want to see that dark blue losers outfit again! We don't need to look like losers to lose. I am also confused as our current unis are a combo throwback. Lets try the white tops and blue pants, white charging helmets like late 70s. Those were cool. Or Rob Johnsons favs, training camp shorts! -
Conerbacks that the Bills should go after
Noodlearm replied to Floridabillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chas Rhomes yes! How about Matt Vanden Boom? Jabari Greer did not fit into our plans. Drayton Florence either. Have to pay for play makers,so sorry. -
Too bad. They usually play hard their contract year, like Nate!
-
Remember he didn't fit in to our plans (read too expensive) like every other all pro whose contract came up. Whatever happened to London Fletcher?
-
Kurt Gowdy and Al Derogotis, hands down. Howard Cosell also made things interesting.

Can I start another $%&#@ Dave Wannstedt thread?
Noodlearm replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats the perfect name for Wanny's D,, "Pro Bowl" I've been in a coma for the past 8 months, has anyone picked up Chan as a head coach? -
Was anyone there 40 years ago today,,,
Noodlearm replied to John Gianelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was there. Crowd was very loud in anticipation of first play in new stadium. Could have heard a pin drop as Mulkey crossed goal line. Bad omen. Never forget leaving stadium and hearing older guy (like me now) say well, "now we have a quarterback" Well we did in Joe Ferguson. I also have coin. The story was there were many extra copies of those coins circulating around afterwards! -
EJ hurt knee according to BB.com
Noodlearm replied to Kemp2Warlick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tuel time, Yes! Haven't seen the replay of the game yet but he looked very good last week. Also at least he looks like a qb, not like my namesake did! -
He was a playmaker. We never kept playmakers. At least he won a championship the only way possible for a Bill in the recent and not so recent past, with another team.

Fitz due roster bonus in March
Noodlearm replied to first_and_ten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has anyone seen the last issue of SI? (before swimsuit). Two page picture of Fitz getting sacked leading article titled "You Got It Or You Don't" (conclusion on Fitz, he don't). This could have been JP, Trent Edwards, Rob Johnson....... Another in a long line of embarassments at QB. Put this mistake behind us please! Anyone can lose us 13 games.
