I honestly thought he was still under contract, I was wrong. You have to remember he is 30 yrs old, so he should be a short term signing to the tune of oh lets say 2 years 1 million per base with some incentives... With money removed I think he would make a decent addition to our O-Line, we need some swagger. I don't want a princess guarding our most valuable asset, E.J. I want an unapologetic @$$hole who will do whatever it takes to keep E.J. standing up. This "bullying" stuff is absolute hogwash. -

I don't see a place for him on our defense. Not because of character, but because our line is already relatively stacked... He will just cost too much to be signed as a 2nd string defensive lineman -
Bills pick up 5th yr option on Dareus

I think we should do one of two things. We should either do what you just said, and keep fitzy for a couple and develop a young quarterback behind him while implementing a no huddle pistol read option attack. Fitz is perfect for no huddle because of his intelligence and noted ability to read opposing defenses. Another option is to scoop up the best free agent qb available right now and build around him, which would be Alex Smith. He IS a FRANCHISE qb, and would SIGNIFICANTLY improve our offense overnight IMHO. Then allow fitzy to compete for the backup job

Exactly, a totally different mindset and a totally different regime in the football dept... We should be (cautiously) optimistic right now, lots of promise especially with the existing talent on the roster

I concur, this guy did good with the Orange but was not that impressive as far as his record is concerned... -
totally and unequivocally agree, very frustrating. with a good oc and a good draft and if the rumors are true that we would get a bunch of his staff from chi-town, we would be sitting pretty challenging the patricheats for the AFC East...

Bills coach search update
MILFHUNTER#518 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been pondering this whole situation over the past 48 hours (as have all my fellow armchair GM's) and feel strongly that the Bills have wanted Lovie all along, but since he is on the shortlist of best possible candidates along with Reid, he can almost choose where he wants to land. Think about it, how would you feel if all of a sudden you had this 3 star franchise all up on your ball$$ day one of the postseason? You would have all the leverage, and we all know how we feel when we go to a car lot and run into a desperate salesperson. So I have come to the conclusion that (for once) the Bills are playing this smart and cool and (at least attempting to) negotiate from a position of strength. Lovie would be a perfect fit in Buffalo, he is one off the very few coaches that can capitalize on the defensive talent we have, not squander it (i.e. Wandstadt). He is a players coach similar to Reid, yet not over the top about it like Rex Ryan so we would immediately improve recruiting of free agents which has been a crippling problem as of late. And jeez, just look at our draft position? As to the (legitimate) point about the need for a strong offensive coordinator, just wait and see how many quality candidates line up day one after we sign him. Not to mention, some of the HC candidates who would love to work for him. -

It was my eighth birthday, and unfortunately my parent's marriage was on the rocks. My father was about to move out, wanted to see the game without interruption so he went to a local bar to view on satellite as it was blacked out. Hence, I had to listen on a handheld radio outside in my front yard. Had a rock next to the road in my front yard, sat there and listened up until the third quarter when I couldn't wait any longer and had to go to my neighbor's house to proclaim the Bills were staging a comeback... Best sports experience of my life (up until the Sabres comeback against the Rangers staged by Chris Drury.)

Nice Gesture by Mario Williams
MILFHUNTER#518 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no, just saying it is curious that someone worth hundreds of millions of dollars would think giving a used pickup away (as nice a gesture and as good of intentions as he might have) as a publicity stunt, given his fame and stature. Especially considering that all you have to do to get access to what he makes is know what Google is... -

No, it is quite funny he didn't just pony up the extra 15K and get them a New truck. Also, he would have gotten an extra tax credit to boot for a new vehicle purchase... Just sayin, I mean the guy probably has more liquid assets than everyone on this board combined X 5 -
