Just made the call. Downgraded from Premier to Xtra. I was month to month with no agreement, which meant the deals pretty much sucked. I asked if there were additional incentives if I went to a contract, and the lady said yes so I was sent to the "Loyalty Department". For a 12 month contract here is what I got: -$20.00 off per month for 12 months (entire term of contract ) -Free Sunday Ticket -Maxx for $16.00 per month If I had stayed with Premier, they would have given me $32.00 off for 6 months. As Homeland & Billions arent coming back till next year I politely declined.

The home field advantage argument is NOT CRAP, it is a DECISIVE advantage and when we had a good team we were able to capitalize on it. However, 26Corner had an excellent idea about a retractable dome, which I think would kill two birds with one stone. We could attract a super bowl perhaps because we could overcome the crappy weather, and leave it open at our leisure (like when a dome team comes to town, or close it if our qb gets hurt and we need favorable conditions for our backup.) I say take all the land the Ralph is on and make it into hotels, of which the lack thereof is a huge detractor to ever holding a super bowl here. Then devise a public transit infrastructure setup to the new retractable dome AND downtown (First Niagara Center). We have that setup already downtown, it is very convenient for out of towners to get to Sabres games from the hotel. That would make us 150% more attractive to both the league, AND free agents who would appreciate the big investment. Now, while we are all debating this stuff, can we PLEASE HAVE A WINNING SEASON?

The title to this thread is what this season is. The kid needs a whole complete off season with all first season snaps with no distractions. He has all the intangibles and with the limited playing time he had last season, despite his injuries he actually did ok. I am more optimistic (especially considering the draft we have had) about this season than I have been in a long while...

Joe 6 pack's highlight video showed four games, two of which I can confirm were pre season so lets not get ahead of ourselves. The guy has a lot of promise and all the intangibles so I say lets give the guy a shot. Our O-Line was already pretty good last season and looks like it will get much better. I relish putting a three headed monster of a running game out there no huddle. Think about it, if we run 65% of the time effectively, at 20-25 seconds between snaps how can an opposing defense effectively guard against even a halfway decent passing game? Lets not kid ourselves, we have some weapons E.J. can air it out to...

the key to this trade working is E.J. taking the helm as our franchise QB. If he improves, and Hackett lets him pass more, we will be ok considering how good our D looks...

An OT at 9 would be a waste, get a WR or some other dynamic offensive weapon, perhaps a TE? You can get a damn fine OT in the 2nd, jumping one at the 9th overall would be a waste IMHO...
