  1. Rex Ryan Wade Phillips. The problem with guys like this, is they're X/O geniuses. But being a HC includes much more than just knowing football. Personnel management is a huge part of it.
  2. Buffalo Wild Wings, or hell, even Hooters would be more acceptable. They're at least "wing places," even if they lack quality. Applebee's has become the punchline of mediocre bland corporate chain restaurants.
  3. I get that it was a sponsored segment, but this is just disrespectful. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2018/10/29/18040406/monday-night-countdown-comes-to-buffalo-eats-applebees-boneless-wings-bills-new-england-patriots
  4. At what point did I mention firing McDermott and/or Beane? I said bring him in as an OC.
  5. He obviously failed as a HC. But we need an OC, and he needs a job. Git r Done Beanie!
  6. | actually used to like the Red Sox. I grew up an Indians fan (because of their affiliation with the Bisons), but always rooted for the Red Sox when the Indians were out of playoff contention. Their fans seemed cool, and we all had a mutual hatred for the Yankees. Then 2004 happened, and I'll admit, I loved it. When they came back from the 0-3 hole. But after that, all the massholes came out of the woodwork, along with bandwagon non New England are fans, and they've become as bad, arguably worse, than the Yankees.
  7. They do announce when the team takes the field "Ladies and Gentleman, your 2018 Buffalo Bills!"
  8. Honestly. My mother never did. My father however, when I was five months old, legit dropped me on my head and I fractured my skull.
  9. That's how I feel. I have friends that although they actually attended/work for UH, have never attended a single sporting event. Hell, between every football game I attend, which includes at least 2 sometimes 5-6 hours of pre game tailgating, and 3-4 baseball games a week, and the occasional basketball game, I spend more time on campus than a good portion of the student body.
  10. I was an Indians fan at one time, which was because Buffalo used to be their AAA team. My dad got mad when I would say "we won" because I wasn't from Cleveland, but loved the team win or lose at the time. I'm an Astros fan now. I didn't jump on the bandwagon when they started playing well. It was back when I could get tickets for $5. They were my NL team, while the Indians were my AL team, and I still rooted for the Indians at one point during an interleauge series. But by the time the Astros switched leagues, they still sucked. But the Indians had ended their partnership with Buffalo, and I didn't recognize anybody on the roster as former Bisons. I realized I'd slowly lost interest in the Indians and gradually realized that I was an Astros fan.
  11. Had a discussion with someone the other day. When is it appropriate to say "We won" or "They beat us" etc. as a fan of a team? Some say never. Personally, I think it's fine as long as your consistant. You can't say "We won" when it's good, but "The Bills lost" when they're bad. I've been a Bills and Sabres fan for my entire life. Grew up there, went to games, been through the good and the bad. Moved to Houston when I was 20, about 8 years ago. Started attending University of Houston football games. Eventually bought season tickets for both the football and baseball teams. Some have said that I shouldn't say "we" since I'm not a student/alumni/athlete/faculty member. But I support the teams more than most of them do. I don't make donations to the school, other than buying my tickets. When I first moved here, my cousins played football and softball for their high school. Got to know most of the kids on the teams too. So at the time, I would refer to them as we, since I did have a personal connection. Still go to the games, but since I don't know any of the kids on the team, I now say them.
  12. I've honestly seen more infighting among Bills fans than with opposing fans. Lol.
  13. The corner store by my work was selling specially marked Astros champion fountain drinks, that were cheaper. They stopped today, since their no longer the defending champs. But I got into a discussion with him, saying they stopped being defending champions last week when they were knocked out, and no longer had a chance to defend their title.
  14. The same happened when I went to the Bills @ Saints game a few years ago. I had two big burly guys stop me "Did you come all the way from Buffalo just for this game?" I like to get into the stadium earlier than my buddies I go with, so I was alone and fearing for my life at this point. "Yes sir!" "Well, thanks for coming down. The tourist industry has died since Katrina, and we need all the help we can get. If you want seafood after the game, go here. If you want a steak, go here." There was one guy that was being a real a-hole to mostly me, and the rest of the Bills fans with me. Had like three Saints fans behind me asking me to please not let him ruin my experience, or my opinion of their fan base. Overall, a really cool time except of course the score.
  15. Do you think if @liverpoolkev's parents hugged him enough as a child, he would be, you know, not making vague accusations of racism? I guess they didn't love him enough.
  16. Um, what do you mean, us people?
  17. This. I always felt St. Doug was trying too hard to be Belicheck/Patriots*. Problem is that smug cockiness only works when you have something to be cocky about, or else you just come off as an ass.
  18. Yeah. It was the end of the game, and all my Bills fans friends had left, so I didn't wanna get into a fight where I was obviously outnumbered, and just didn't feel like dealing with security. But I was pissed.
  19. I got a PS4 for Christmas, which is my first video game system I've owned since PS2. I rarely buy brand new games. The newest one I got was COD:WWII last year, and that's because it was a bundle deal type thing. All of my sports games are a year or two old. That said, this game looks awesome, and hoping I get it as a wedding or Christmas gift.
  20. Where's the line drawn between friendly banter, and blatant disrespect between fans of rival/opposing teams? Trash talking is part of the fun of being a fan of the sport, but how far is too far? The reason I ask is because I was at the Debacle in Houston. I'll admit I'm a loud fan. Yelling on defense, getting excited when we do good, and angry when we play bad. But I've never been disrespectful, and keep foul language to a minimum. Some Texans fans were annoyed by how loud I was when the Bills were on defense, and after the pick six, decided to grab me by the shoulders and violently shake me. I wasn't hurt or anything, but that obviously crossed the line. Really, I never even got mad at the Texans, just at the Bills.
  21. While I know Uncle Jim (along with the rest of those Bills) did more than his fair share of partying at that age, I'd like to at least think they were able to hold their liquor better than that. But yeah, they grew up before everybody had a video camera in their pocket that can send it worldwide instantly.
  22. My Father in Law used to have season tickets for the Oilers. He'd sit there for hours after a game while traffic died down watching them convert it from football to baseball. Said the Astrodome was a great place for baseball, and terrible for football. I bought my hockey package last night. I have a Roku TV now, so I got the one team package. Used to hate paying almost $200 a year when I only really cared about the Sabres. With my Father in Law's veteran discount it came to like $75.
  23. I had an aunt tell me that I just don't have any morals because I said I don't care what the football players do before the game, I just want to watch football. Same aunt got free tickets to the Chargers @ Bills game 2 weeks later and was there.
  24. Actually, this post brings me to my next point. Flutie should have started that playoff game in Nashville! @Gugny agrees.
