  1. Back in Black, I hit the sack. It's been so long, I'm glad to be back. 'Cuz I'm let loose, from the noose, That's kept me hangin' about.
  2. I'm gonna sing my song, it won't take long. We're gonna do the twist, and it goes like this!
  3. I was speaking more to my experiences when I was a Bisons fans in the late 90s-early 00s.
  4. My profile picture should tell you everything you need to know about how I feel about this pick.
  5. That's always been my biggest fear growing up for two reasons. 1) Love the Bisons. Hate the Yankees. I'd be so conflicted. 2) The Yankees build their team through free agency, so other than a handful of players, most of their stars don't come through, so their farm system is usually trash.
  6. Elvis faking his death is one of the few conspiracy theories that I think may possibly be true. I'm not saying I believe it, but I'm only about 60-70% sure Elvis died in 1977.
  7. From what I understand, he had multiple doctors prescribing him multiple pills that didn't know about each other. So it wasn't so much an overdose, as it was taking medicines that shouldn't be taken together.
  8. They both look so much alike, I just don't know how we'd tell them apart.
  9. Opening Day was a tradition for me, my dad, and my brother till I moved. We asked an executive one particularly cold opener, why they can't just have all the Southern teams open the season at home, and give us an extra week to week and a half to warm up. He said the league rules state that teams alternate on opening at home every year. We all agreed that we'd like to forfeit our rights to opening the season. This is how college baseball works. I have season tickets to UH, and the first month and a half, we have four games a week, almost always against some barely D1 team from up North. I don't know about minor league, but I read they're thinking about converting the Carrier Dome so Syracuse University could play baseball indoors.
  10. I understand why they do it. It's not a moral opposition, so much as it's much more fun to watch people who look at Olympic Gold as their top achievement. Team USA essentially looks at it as a cool thing to add to their shelf and a two week vacation.
  11. We're all winners when we watch that, am I right @Boyst62? I honestly root against the USA in basketball. They're literally stacked with essentially an NBA All Star team.
  12. Yeah, as much as I was a huge Bisons fan back when I lived there, minor league baseball isn't about winning/losing games. It's for developing individual skills in game settings. A farm systems success isn't based on wins/losses, but how many players come through the system and become successful players in the show. If you want to see good teams, get with a small market MLB team. They need to pair someone that relies more on their farm system than free agent players. That's why were were so good with Cleveland, and terrible with the Mets and Blue Jays. Cleveland's move to Columbus was just as much about the new stadium, as it was about expanding their fanbase to Columbus, which was about half Reds half Indians. Although we're not the best facility in the minors anymore, we're still up there, despite the age of our stadium.
  13. Living in Houston, my goal is to make it to the game. If I don't, I'm not sure what the plan is. We're either going to my aunt's house (about ten minutes away), or my wife's uncles house about an hour North. Don't really care which one, but we better be there by game time.
  14. Considering @BringBackFergy was one of the few people in this thread to play along, I'd say yes. Lol.
  15. Grew up an Indians fan because Buffalo had their farm team. It was great watching them play when they were nobodies, and then watching them make it on the big stage. After I moved to Houston, I adopted the Astros as my NL team. When the Indians came to town during interleauge, I rooted for Cleveland. As time went on, the Indians left Buffalo, and I recognized less and less of them as Bisons. At the same time, The Astros were absolute garbage and the worst team in the league. As a huge baseball fan, this was great because I could get a ticket for five dollars almost any night of the week. So I watched the Astros build into what they are now, and slowly became a fan. That said, I'm also a huge fan of UH baseball. I have season tickets and rarely miss a game.
  16. How much money does a punter in a minor league make? It can't be more than what it would cost in the leagues lawyer fees. I'm sure it gets settled out of court somehow?
  17. I can't even imagine. I've never lost my own dog, but my aunt and uncle had a dog I was close to that they had to put down, and my cousin has had to put down three of his dogs in the past four or five years, all of whom I've been close to, and it still hurt. The dog I have now is the first dog that's truly been my dog. He's about 12. Still active so I know he's got some time left. But I know when he's gone, I'll be out of commission for a week.
  18. That's different though. Josh Allen is a QB with a strong arm. We'd be wasting his talents there. It's not like baseball where you can easily play offense and defense. He might make a good LB, but it's just not worth the risk of injury.
  19. DK Metcalf is sneaky fast, good footwork, above average vertical leap, has shifty hips and has the ability to go up and get the ball. His agility and knack for finding the ball in a crowd is uncanny. With that said, we would be wasting his talents as a WR. In the mold of the Seahawks and now the Jets we need a tall kid at CB and one who isn't afraid to turn, extend and deflect/catch the ball. There is no reason why a talented kid like Metcalf should be relegated to WR. He can serve a purpose and that position is CB. Trust me...I know.
