  1. Here we come Walkin' down the street We get the funniest looks from Everyone we meet Hey, hey, we're the Monkees And people say we monkey around But we're too busy singing To put anybody down We go wherever we want to Do what we like to do We don't have time to get restless There's always something new Hey, hey, we're the Monkees And people say we monkey around But we're too busy singing To put anybody down We're just tryin' to be friendly Come and watch us sing and play We're the young generation And we've got something to say, oh Any time Or anywhere Just look over your shoulder Guess who'll be standing there? Hey, hey, we're the Monkees And people say we monkey around But we're too busy singing To put anybody down Whaaa, one time! Hey, hey, we're the Monkees And people say we monkey around But we're too busy singing To put anybody down We're just tryin' to be friendly Come and watch us sing and play We're the young generation And we've got something to say Hey, hey, we're the Monkees Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
  2. I honestly don't but I'm a huge fan so I'll have to check it out. I also forgot Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash storytellers (or unplugged, I honestly confuse the two.) But it's in the last few years of Johnny's life, and it's just Johnny and Willie with acoustic guitars. I have the DVD, but also it's in CD form. Muddy Waters with the Rolling Stones Live at the Checkerboard Lounge. The best part was, the crowd had no idea. They thought they were just paying to see Muddy Waters play at his club. He and his band play two songs or so, then Mick, Keith (with his own bottle of whiskey), and the whole band walk in. And they just jam. Buddy Guy, and Junior Wells also show up as guest stars. Speaking of Blues, if Live in the Studio albums count, Stevie Ray and Albert King "In Session" is fantastic as well.
  3. "We've done four already but now we're steady And then they went: One, two, three, four" Singing in the sunshine, laughing in the rain Hitting on the moonshine, rocking in the grain Got no time to pack my bags, my foots outside the door I got a date, I can't be late, for the high hopes hailla ball, uh uh, uh uh, yeah Singing to an ocean, I can hear the ocean's roar Play for free, I play for me and play a whole lot more, more! Singing about the good things and the sun that lights the day I used to sing on the mountains, has the ocean lost its way I don't know, oh oh, yeah' Ooh, yeah Sitting round singing songs 'til the night turns into day Used to sing about the mountains but the mountains washed away Now I'm singing all my songs to the girl who won my heart She is only three years old and it's a real fine way to start Oh yeah! It sure is fine! Ah blow my mind! When the tears are goin' down! Yeah! Yeah, yeah Oh so, oh so, oh so good! Oh so good!
  4. Bob Seger - Live Bullet- Probably my top five favorite albums of all time, studio or live. Caught Seger in his prime. A lot of awesome covers on the album. Also got me through some tough times in my life. Lynyrd Skynyrd- One More From The Road - Free Bird alone makes this one a classic. But they were such a tight band. Call Me the Breeze, Tuesdays' Gone. Johnny Cash - Live at Folsom - Aside from the social significance of it, I love how it's not just a "Greatest Hits" live compilation. He played songs for the inmates that spoke to them and what they were going through. Paul McCartney Back in the US - It came out around 2002 or so. Probably nothing historically significant. Just a compilation of shows he did on a tour. But it spans everything from Beatles, to Wings, to his solo career up until that point. I was just starting to become a huge Beatles fan when it came out and my dad got it for me for Christmas. I had a CD that I downloaded from Limewire back in the day. Don't think it was technically an album. But it was a bootleg of a concert Elton John did in the late 90s, at Carnegie Hall or something I believe. Just Elton and a piano with nothing else.
  5. Generals gathered in their masses, Just like witches at black masses Evil minds that plot destruction, Sorcerer of death's construction In the fields the bodies burning, As the war machine keeps turning Death and hatred to mankind, Poisoning their brainwashed minds Oh Lord yeah Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role for the poor, yeah Time will tell on their power minds, Making war just for fun Treating people just like pawns in chess, Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah Now in darkness world stops turning, Ashes where the bodies burning No more War Pigs have the power, Hand of God has struck the hour Day of judgement, God is calling On their knees the war pigs crawling, Begging mercies for their sins Satan, laughing, spreads his wings Oh Lord yeah
  6. Well, it was all That I could do to keep from crying' Sometimes it seemed so useless to remain But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin' You never even called me by my name You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings And you don't have to call me Charlie Pride And you don't have to call me Merle Haggard anymore Even though you're on my fighting' side And I'll hang around as long as you will let me And I never minded standing' in the rain But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin' You never even called me by my name Well, I've heard my name A few times in your phone book (hello, hello) And I've seen it on signs where I've played But the only time I know I'll hear "David Allan Coe" Is when Jesus has his final judgment day So I'll hang around as long as you will let me And I never minded standing' in the rain But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin' You never even called me by my name Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song And he told me it was the perfect country & western song I wrote him back a letter and I told him it was not the perfect country & western song Because he hadn't said anything at all about mama Or trains, or trucks, or prison, or getting' drunk Well, he sat down and wrote another verse to the song and he sent it to me And after reading it I realized that my friend had written the perfect country & western song And I felt obliged to include it on this album The last verse goes like this here Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison And I went to pick her up in the rain But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck She got run over by a damned old train And I'll hang around as long as you will let me And I never minded standing' in the rain, no But you don't have to call me darlin', darlin' You never even called me Well, I wonder why you don't call me Why don't you ever call me by my name
  7. The full game is on the official NFL Youtube channel last I checked. I live in Houston so I always like to bring this game up to Oilers fans? "Remember that time you guys were beating us 35-3? Well, I turned it off after that, because we had our backup QB in, so there was no way we came back from that. What was the final score? You must have killed us like 70-6 or something." Usually they get that I'm f*cking with them. But I've had a handful of people not catch my sarcasm and explain to me how the game ended.
  8. Houston Astros. Back when they were losing 100+ games a year, put on the best fireworks shows. They still put on really good ones. They're all synchronized to music. They did a Billy Joel/Elton John meadly one night and it was awesome.
  9. As I walk this land with broken dreams I have visions of many things But happiness is just an illusion Filled with sadness and confusion What becomes of the broken-hearted Who had love that's now departed? I know I've got to find Some kind of peace of mind Maybe
  10. When it's late at night, late at night Let me tell you When you got a headache A little headache powder will help you When you got a backache Go down To John R. & Brush and a massage parlor will take care of you. When it's late at night late at night late at night Late at night Late at night Late at night Late at night When you got a heartache there ain't nothing you can do When you got a heartache late at night Ain't a thing you can do
  11. Sometimes I think this woman is kinda hot Sometimes I think this woman is sometimes not Puts me down, fools me around What's she doing to me? Out for satisfaction, any piece of action That ain't the way it should be She needs love, smells out a man She's gotta see Pours my beer, licks my ear Brings out the devil in me Hell ain't a bad place to be
  12. You're posting on a message board for a football team that's been perennially mediocre for the better part of two decades, in July. You might find a few friendless people.
  13. Desperado, why don't you come to your senses? You been out ridin' fences for so long now Oh, you're a hard one But I know that you got your reasons These things that are pleasin' you Can hurt you somehow Don't you draw the Queen of Diamonds, boy She'll beat you if she's able You know the Queen of Hearts is always your best bet Now, it seems to me some fine things Have been laid upon your table But you only want the ones that you can't get Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home And freedom, oh freedom, well that's just some people talkin' Your prison is walking through this world all alone Don't your feet get cold in the winter time? The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine It's hard to tell the night time from the day You're losin' all your highs and lows Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away? Desperado, why don't you come to your senses? Come down from your fences, open the gate It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you You better let somebody love you (let somebody love you) You better let somebody love you Before it's too late
  14. I'm terrible with time management. If I'm not exactly on time, I'm super early, or super late. Got to the bar for a Bills game at like 10 once just because I was up. Bartender let me in because it was raining. Gave me a free shot and a beer if I helped him take the stools down.
  15. Holy Moses I have been removed I have seen the spectre he has been here too Distant cousin from down the line Brand of people who ain't my kind Holy Moses I have been removed Holy Moses I have been deceived Now the wind has changed direction and I'll have to leave Won't you please excuse my frankness but it's not my cup of tea Holy Moses I have been deceived I'm going back to the border Where my affairs, my affairs ain't abused I can't take any more bad water Been poisoned from my head down to my shoes Holy Moses I have been deceived Holy Moses let us live in peace Let us strive to find a way to make all hatred cease There's a man over there What's his color I don't care He's my brother let us live in peace
  16. I watched with glee While your kings and queens Fought for ten decades For the gods they made I shouted out Who killed the Kennedys? When after all It was you and me Let me please introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste And I laid traps for troubadours Who get killed before they reached Bombay
  17. People who hate on KISS base their opinion on the time period from 79ish on when they essentially became a parody of themselves. They had a lot of gimmicks up to that point, but had the music to back it up.
  18. On a greyhound bus, Lord I'm traveling this morning I'm going to Shreveport and on down to New Orleans Been driving these highways, Been doing things my way It's been making me lonesome on'ry and mean Now her hair was jet black, And her name was Codene Thought she was the cream of the Basin Street queens She got tired of that smokey whine dream Began to feel lonesome on'ry and mean We got together, and we cashed in our sweeps. Gave 'em to a beggar Who was mumbling through the streets There's no escaping From his snowy white dreams Born lookin' lonesome on'ry and mean Now I'm down in this valley, Where the wheels turn so low At dawn I pray, to the Lord of my soul I say do Lord, do right by me You know I'm tired of being lonesome on'ry and mean
  19. Their manager said in interviews all over the country that they were the next Beatles. I'd also pay to see Ace and Peter in KISS. Otherwise, I might as well go see tribute bands. did you see the picture? 3/4 of the band don't even look like they were born when SATURDAY night came out. If that counts as BCR, then the band Axl was touring with for 15 years was GNR.
  20. I've had the house to myself most nights for the past few weeks. Most nights I sit on the porch, and smoke a cigar listening to music. Unfortunatly all my records are back in Buffalo, so it's just digital downloads. But I've been listening to more complete albums. It's interesting to listen to. Find a lot of songs by artists that just wow me and I wonder why it wasn't released as a single. Even the songs that aren't so great, it gives you a sense of what the artist was going through at the time. I've also enjoyed listening to two consecutive albums in a row to hear how a band or artist progressed and changed from one year to the next.
  21. Hey, at least this is a remake of a 15 year old franchise, that was a remake of a then 20+ year old franchise. Spiderman has had three in the past decade and a half or so.
  22. The guys who were actually the voices for Milli Vanilli tried to tour with no success.
  23. As soon as you are able, woman I am willing To make the break that we are on the brink of My cup is on the table, my love is spilling Waiting here for you to take and drink of So if you're tired of the same old story, Oh, turn some pages I will be here when you are ready To roll with the changes, yeah, yeah
  24. I think the best way to do it, is next time they renovate, either move the names somewhere else, or get new plaques or something, and just quietly don't add him back when they do.
