  2. Each night I leave the bar room when it's over Not feeling any pain at closing time But tonight your memory found me much too sober Couldn't drink enough to keep you off my mind Tonight the bottle let me down And let your memory come around The one true friend I thought I'd found Tonight the bottle let me down I've always had a bottle I could turn to And lately I've been turnin' every day But the wine don't take effect the way it used to And I'm hurtin' in an old familiar way Tonight the bottle let me down And let your memory come around The one true friend I thought I'd found Tonight the bottle let me down Tonight the bottle let me down
  3. "Your 2018 record: 4-12, featuring two three-game losing streaks and a six-game losing streak. That’s a lot of Jetsiness to pack into one season, but this franchise rarely, if ever, lets America down when it comes to being terrible in the densest possible concentrations. They got frog-stomped 41-10 by a Bills team quarterbacked by Matt Barkley, which is somehow even more humiliating than losing to Nathan Peterman."
  4. What's funny is I can probably guarentee you the headline in Sunday's paper is something along the lines of "Stones Give Fans Satisfaction in Rockin Show Last Night." It'll be the complete opposite. A fluff piece kissing their ass. And still puts on a better show than performers a 3rd of his age.
  5. Stones are coming to Houston tomorrow so the Houston Chronicle re-ran the review from their first concert in Houston. Pretty interesting tone that how much it seemed they talked down about them. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/local/bayou-city-history/article/From-1966-Stones-feel-fans-missing-their-message-14161354.php
  6. I've seen these. They're all great. Huge Stones fan. Got Floor seats for this Saturday.
  7. In the days of my youth I was told what it was to be a man Now I've reached the age I've tried to do all those things the best I can No matter how I try I find my way to do the same old jam Good times, bad times You know I had my share When my woman left home With a brown eyed man Well, I still don't seem to care Sixteen I fell in love With a girl as sweet as could be Only took a couple of days Till she was rid of me She swore that she would be all mine And love me till the end When I whispered in her ear I lost another friend Good times, bad times You know I had my share When my woman left home With a brown eyed man Well, I still don't seem to care Good times, bad times You know I had my share When my woman left home With a brown eyed man Well, I still don't seem to care I know what it means to be alone I sure do wish I was at home I don't care what the neighbors say I'm gonna love you each and every day You can feel the beat within my heart Realize, sweet babe, we ain't ever gonna part
  8. Rutles > Spinal Tap. (And I love Spinal tap. I'll have to check it out. I saw a Beatles Tribute band perform the complete album with a full symphony last summer and I gained a whole new appreciation for it.
  9. I've seen a few recently in the past few years about various unsung heroes of music. Standing in the Shadows of Motown. It's about The Funk Brothers, the studio band for Motown. Those guys were fantastic. Played on more #1 hits than The Beatles, Beach Boys, and Elvis combined. Unfortunately they were essentially just hired hands, so don't have the bank accounts to show it. The Wrecking Crew, which played on basically any pop song you know from the late 50s until the mid 70s. A whole bunch of Beach Boys (Help me Rhonda, Good vibrations, Surfin' USA to name a few.) You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin fro The Righteous Brothers. California Dreamin. I Got you Babe. Strangers in the Night. These Boots Are Made For Walkin.MacArther Park. Mrs Robinson.Love Will Keep Us Together. Hired Guns- Musicians that are hired on a contract basis from tour to tour. Paints Billy Joel in a not so pleasant light.
  10. Whiskey river, take my mind Don't let her memory torture me Whiskey river, don't run dry You're all I got, take care of me I'm drowning in a whiskey river Bathin' my memory's mind in the wetness of its soul Feeling the amber current flowing from my mind To a warm and empty heart you left so cold
  11. Anybody know of some good documentaries about rock music? Ones that focus more on the music than the artists personal life? Something that goes in depth about the songwriting/recording process? I really enjoyed the "Classic Albums" series that VH1 Classic used to air.
  12. As the snow flies On a cold and gray Chicago mornin' A poor little baby child is born In the ghetto (in the ghetto) And his mama cries 'Cause if there's one thing that she don't need It's another hungry mouth to feed In the ghetto (in the ghetto) People, don't you understand The child needs a helping hand Or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day? Take a look at you and me Are we too blind to see Do we simply turn our heads, and look the other way? Well, the world turns And a hungry little boy with a runny nose Plays in the street as the cold wind blows In the ghetto (in the ghetto) And his hunger burns So he starts to roam the streets at night And he learns how to steal, and he learns how to fight In the ghetto (in the ghetto) Then one night in desperation A young man breaks away He buys a gun, steals a car Tries to run, but he don't get far And his mama cries As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man Face down on the street with a gun in his hand In the ghetto (in the ghetto) And as her young man dies On a cold and gray Chicago mornin' Another little baby child is born In the ghetto (in the ghetto) And his mama cries (in the ghetto) (In the ghetto) (Aah-aah)

  14. This morning I woke up alone, found a note standing by the phone Sayin', "Maybe, maybe I'll be back someday" I wanted to look for you You walked in, I didn't know just what I should do So I sat back down and had a beer and felt sorry for myself Sayin' let her cry if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing if it eases all her pain Let her go, let her walk right out on me And if the sun comes up tomorrow, let her be, let her be No, no, no, no
  15. It's quite simple really. OJ Simpson is a free man (whether or not he should be is a different argument for a different, time), so can say whatever he likes. Howard Stern can also say whatever he likes. Howard Stern's fight was against the FCC. A taxpayer funded, government controlled agency. Because this agency was run by the government, Howard believed that them trying to limit, stop, or censor what he was saying violated his first amendment rights. He then went to Sirius radio. They don't have to follow FCC guidelines as far as content goes. However, they certainly have internal polices, granted much looser than those of a publicly broadcast radio stations, about what can and cannot be said. Twitter has their own terms and conditions. At this point, OJ Simpson has not violated any of those. They do however, have the right to refuse service to anybody, for any reason. Be it Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, @Gugny, Howard Stern, or OJ Simpson. Howard is suggesting that Twitter uses this right to remove OJ Simpson from their platform. If OJ Simpson were being punished by the government for having/using social media, I'm sure Howard would be on OJ's side. Now, we can debate whether social media platforms using censorship is ethical, or good business. What can't be debated, is whether they're violating free speech. Just as TBD/TSW can block and permanently and temporarily ban us for violating their terms. Or for no reason at all if they wanted.
  16. Darling, I'm in love with you And I'll be one with you, one day Oh, my darling, what a surprise I get a funny feeling when I look in your eyes Darling, please come here, let me bend your ear I want to tell you things just between you and I I know that you can feel it girl, you cannot deny I feel it in my soul, let the truth be told Darling, darling, darling, darling I'm in love with you And I'll be one with you, one day Oh, my darling, I don't know why Flowers bloom when we walk on by The world just seems much better Whenever we're together Darling, darling, darling, darling I'm in love with you And I'll be one with you, one day You walked out of a dream With a face like peaches in cream, oh, yeah When I look at you, you know what I mean We better run 'cause we're making a scene Darling Oh, my darling, you are the one Whenever we're together we're having some fun Every time you're near the world just disappears Darling, darling, darling, darling I'm in love with you I'm having fun with you I'm in love with you I'm on the run with you I'm in love with you And I'll be one with you, one day
  17. If I had my way with the NFL back when the Rams and Chargers moved. I'd leave those two teams where they were. If they were insistant on having an LA team, move the Raiders there, since they already have a fan base in LA. Change their name to the California Raiders, to keep as many of their Oakland/NoCal fans as they can. Keep training camp in Oakland, play one, if not both preseason games in Oakland. Maybe even an annual, or semi-annual regular season game (a la our Toronto series).
  18. It's really hard to say that the defending champions are on the decline. But yeah. I agree. Lol.
  19. Touchdown Jesus survived the fire.
  20. Arizona Coyotes to Houston. Although Houston is a southern city, there are plenty of transplants, especially with Canadians involved in the oil industry. Move the Predators to Seattle. Move the Clippers back to Buffalo. It's been a 30 year experiment. LA has spoken on who their city's team is. Bring the Braves home. Move Jacksonville to Toronto. I've never had a problem with Toronto having a team, as long as it wasn't our team.
  21. If you were tasked with moving at least one, but no more than two teams in the four major team sports (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB) from their current location to a city that doesn't currently have a team who would you move to where?
  22. Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now I feel good, I knew that I would, now So good, so good, I got you Whoa! I feel nice, like sugar and spice I feel nice, like sugar and spice So nice, so nice, I got you When I hold you in my arms I know that I can't do no wrong And when I hold you in my arms My love won't do you no harm And I feel nice, like sugar and spice I feel nice, like sugar and spice So nice, so nice, I got you When I hold you in my arms I know that I can't do no wrong And when I hold you in my arms My love can't do me no harm And I feel nice, like sugar and spice I feel nice, like sugar and spice So nice, so nice, well I got you Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now I feel good, I knew that I would So good, so good, 'cause I got you So good, so good, 'cause I got you So good, so good, 'cause I got you
  23. (I've always loved how these are two completely different songs with the same message of 'I'm not blaming the people who do the actual fighting in the war, it's the scumbags up top that send them to do their bidding.) I used to be a rolling stone you know If a cause was right I'd leave to find the answer on the road I used to be a heart beating for someone But the times have changed The less I say the more my work gets done 'Cause I live and breathe this Philadelphia freedom From the day that I was born I've waved the flag Philadelphia freedom took me knee high to a man, yeah Gave me a piece of mama, daddy never had Oh Philadelphia freedom, shine on me, I love you Shine the light, through the eyes of the ones left behind Shine the light, shine the light Shine the light, won't you shine the light Philadelphia freedom, I love-ve-ve you, yes I do If you choose to you can live your life alone Some people choose the city (some people the city) Some others choose the good old family home (some others choose a good old) I like living easy without family ties (living easy) Till the whippoorwill of freedom zapped me Right between the eyes 'Cause I live and breathe this Philadelphia freedom From the day that I was born I've waved the flag Philadelphia freedom took me knee high to a man Mm, gave me a piece of mama, daddy never had Oh Philadelphia freedom, shine on me, I love you Shine the light, through the eyes of the ones left behind Shine the light, shine the light Shine the light, won't you shine the light Philadelphia freedom, I love-ve-ve you, yes I do Oh, Philadelphia freedom, shine on me, I love you Shine the light, through the eyes of the ones left behind Shine the light, shine the light Shine the light, won't you shine the light Philadelphia freedom, I love-ve-ve, You know I love-ve-ve , you know I love-ve-ve you Yes I do, Philadelphia freedom I love-ve-ve you Yes I do, Philadelphia freedom You know that I love-ve-ve you Yes I do, Philadelphia freedom Don't you know that I love-ve-ve you Yes I do, Philadelphia freedom Don't you know that I love-ve-ve you Yes I do, Philadelphia freedom
