  1. I have a current Kelly jersey that was a gift. I've always thought it was weird. But at least the current style of jersey is similar to what they wore. It was weird seeing names like Kelly, Thomas, etc on the back of those ugly dark blue jerseys we had in the 00s. That's not even close to what they wore.
  2. Saturday night and you're still hangin' around Tired of living in your one horse town You'd like to find a little hole in the ground For awhile... So you go to the village in your tie dyed jeans And you stare at the junkies and the closet queens It's like some pornographic magazine And you smile Captain Jack will get you high tonight And take you to your special island Captain Jack will get you by tonight Just a little push, and you'll be smilin'
  3. "I respect the sh!t out of women! It's not my fault they're all dumb b*ches that don't recognize how nice of a guy I am!"
  4. Well, I woke up this mornin' it was drizzlin' rain Around the curve come a passenger train Heard somebody yodel and a hobo moan Jimmy he's dead, he's been a long time gone. Been a long time gone, a long time gone.
  5. Little Melvin has a natural obsession Askin' for Prince Albert in a can He gets a kick each time he makes a collect call To some guy he doesn't know who lives in Japan He's callin' strangers up at three in the morning Gives 'em pizza pie delivery at four He won't be laughin' when they're tracin' his line One day the phone police will be there at his door Yo, hear me Don't go makin' phony calls Only dial the seven-digit numbers you're used to Swear someday I'm gonna yank that phone cord right out from the wall How long is this phase gonna last? Come on
  6. Your cheatin' heart Will make you weep You'll cry and cry And try to sleep
  7. Hear that lonesome whippoorwill He sounds too blue to fly The midnight train is whining low I'm so lonesome I could cry I've never seen a night so long When time goes crawling by The moon just went behind the clouds To hide its face and cry Did you ever see a robin weep When leaves begin to die That means he's lost the will to live I'm so lonesome I could cry The silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome I could cry

  9. And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people need not apply" So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why He said "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do" So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that. Huh! Me workin' for you!" Sign, sign, everywhere a sign Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?
  10. I was a rebel from the day I left school Grew my hair long and broke all the rules I'd sit and listen to my records all day With big ambitions of where I could play My parents taught me what life was about So I grew up the type they warned me about They said my friends were just an unruly mob And I should get a haircut and get a real job Get a haircut and get a real job Clean your act up and don't be a slob Get it together like your big brother Bob Why don't you get a haircut and get a real job I even tried that nine to five scene I told myself that it was all a bad dream I found a band and some good songs to play And now I party all night, I sleep all day I met this chick she was my number one fan She took me home to meet her mommy and dad They took one look at me and said (oh my god) Get a haircut and get a real job Get a haircut and get a real job Clean your act up and don't be a slob Get it together like your big brother Bob Why don't you get a haircut and get a real job Get a real job, why don't you get a real job Get a real job, why don't you get a real job I hit the big time with my rock 'n' roll band The future's brighter now than I'd ever planned I'm ten times richer than my big brother Bob But he, he's got a haircut he's got a real job Get a haircut and get a real job Clean your act up and don't be a slob Get it together like your big brother Bob Why don't you get a haircut and get a real job Get a real job, why don't you get a real job Get a real job, why don't you get a real job
  11. When I was a boy I had a lot of fun I lived by the sea, I was a fisherman's son My mother she was a fisherman's wife She was scrubbing floors most of her life They said screw you I ain't got nothing to lose I could paper a matchbox With the money I use At the school I attended I got into fights I was beaten in an alley on a cold winter night The teachers cared less for the blood in our veins They got most of their thrills out of using a cane They said screw you Oh you bloody young fools I could get more sense Out of the back end of a mule So you see there's man who get paid for being slaves And men who get paid for being free And there's men behind bars who pray for the light And men in the suburbs who pray for the night And they're all trying to climb to the top of the mine And all of them say most of the way Screw you I worked in the mill from seven till nine Tears in my eyes nearly drove me half-blind Trying to make wages that weren't even there Taking hell from a foreman with the build of a bear He said screw you This is all you'll ever do It's the only existence for someone like you
  12. My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay He learned to walk while I was away And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew He'd say "I'm gonna be like you, dad" "You know I'm gonna be like you" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon "When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when" But we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then My son turned ten just the other day He said, thanks for the ball, dad, come on let's play Can you teach me to throw, I said, not today I got a lot to do, he said, that's okay And he walked away, but his smile never dimmed It said, I'm gonna be like him, yeah You know I'm gonna be like him And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon "When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when" But we'll get together then You know we'll have a good time then Well, he came from college just the other day So much like a man I just had to say Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while? He shook his head, and he said with a smile What I'd really like, dad, is to borrow the car keys See you later, can I have them please? And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon "When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when" But we'll get together then, dad You know we'll have a good time then I've long since retired and my son's moved away I called him up just the other day I said, I'd like to see you if you don't mind He said, I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time You see, my new job's a hassle, and the kids have the flu But it's sure nice talking to you, dad It's been sure nice talking to you And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me He'd grown up just like me My boy was just like me And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man in the moon "When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when" But we'll get together then, dad We're gonna have a good time then (Now if you'll excuse me, I have a phone call to make)
  13. Levon sells cartoon balloons in town His family business thrives Jesus blows up balloons all day Sits on the porch swing watching them fly And Jesus, he wants to go to Venus Leave Levon far behind Take a balloon and go sailing, While Levon, Levon slowly dies He was born a pauper To a pawn on a Christmas day When the New York Times Said God is dead and the war's begun Alvin Tostig has a son today And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man And he shall be Levon In tradition with the family plan, woo And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man He shall be Levon

  17. I'm a rolling thunder, a pouring rain I'm comin' on like a hurricane My lightning's flashing across the sky You're only young but you're gonna die I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives Nobody's putting up a fight I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell I'm gonna get you, Satan get you Hell's bells Yeah, hell's bells You got me ringing hell's bells My temperature's high, hell's bells I'll give you black sensations up and down your spine If you're into evil you're a friend of mine See the white light flashing as I split the night 'Cause if good's on the left, Then I'm stickin' to the right I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives Nobody's puttin' up a fight I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell I'm gonna get you, Satan get you Hell's bells Yeah, hell's bells You got me ringing hell's bells My temperature's high, hell's bells Hell's bells, Satan's comin' to you Hell's bells, he's ringing them now Hell's bells, the temperature's high Hell's bells, across the sky Hell's bells, they're takin' you down Hell's bells, they're draggin' you around Hell's bells, gonna split the night Hell's bells, there's no way to fight, yeah Hell's bells.
  18. A long long time ago I can still remember how That music used to make me smile And I knew if I had my chance That I could make those people dance And maybe they'd be happy for a while But February made me shiver With every paper I'd deliver Bad news on the doorstep I couldn't take one more step I can't remember if I cried When I read about his widowed bride Something touched me deep inside The day the music died Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singin' this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die Did you write the book of love And do you have faith in God above If the Bible tells you so? Do you believe in rock and roll? Can music save your mortal soul? And can you teach me how to dance real slow? Well, I know that you're in love with him 'Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym You both kicked off your shoes Man, I dig those rhythm and blues I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck With a pink carnation and a pickup truck But I knew I was out of luck The day the music died I started singin' Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singin' this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die Now, for ten years we've been on our own And moss grows fat on a rolling stone But, that's not how it used to be When the jester sang for the king and queen In a coat he borrowed from James Dean And a voice that came from you and me Oh and while the king was looking down The jester stole his thorny crown The courtroom was adjourned No verdict was returned And while Lennon read a book on Marx The quartet practiced in the park And we sang dirges in the dark The day the music died We were singin' Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye And singin' this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die Helter skelter in a summer swelter The birds flew off with a fallout shelter Eight miles high and falling fast It landed foul on the grass The players tried for a forward pass With the jester on the sidelines in a cast Now the half-time air was sweet perfume While sergeants played a marching tune We all got up to dance Oh, but we never got the chance 'Cause the players tried to take the field The marching band refused to yield Do you recall what was revealed The day the music died? We started singin' Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye And singin' this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die Oh, and there we were all in one place A generation lost in space With no time left to start again So come on Jack be nimble, Jack be quick Jack Flash sat on a candlestick 'Cause fire is the devil's only friend Oh and as I watched him on the stage My hands were clenched in fists of rage No angel born in Hell Could break that Satan's spell And as the flames climbed high into the night To light the sacrificial rite I saw Satan laughing with delight The day the music died He was singin' Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singin' this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die I met a girl who sang the blues And I asked her for some happy news But she just smiled and turned away I went down to the sacred store Where I'd heard the music years before But the man there said the music wouldn't play And in the streets the children screamed The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed But not a word was spoken The church bells all were broken And the three men I admire most The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost They caught the last train for the coast The day the music died And they were singing Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singin' this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die They were singing Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry Them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye Singin' this'll be the day that I die
  19. The Cleveland Indians sign anybody who catches a foul ball in the air to a "One Day Contract" that gets you like a free hot dog or something. I assumed they were about as official as those.
  20. Roll me up and smoke me when I die And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye I didn't come here, and I ain't leavin' So don't sit around and cry Just roll me up and smoke me when I die. Now you won't see no sad and teary eyes When I get my wings and it's my time to fly Call my friends and tell them There's a party, come on by And just roll me up and smoke me when I die. Roll me up and smoke me when I die And if anyone don't like it, just look them in the eye Say I didn't come here, and I ain't leavin' So don't sit around and cry Just roll me up and smoke me when I die. When I go out I've been here long enough So sing and tell more jokes and dance and stuff Just keep the music playing that'll be as good as goodbye Roll me up and smoke me when I die Roll me up and smoke me when I die And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye I didn't come here, and I ain't leavin' So don't sit around and cry Just roll me up and smoke me when I die. Hey take me out and build a roaring fire And just roll me in the flames for about an hour And then take me out and twist me up And point me towards the sky And roll me up and smoke me when I die. Roll me up and smoke me when I die And if anyone don't like it, just look 'em in the eye I didn't come here, and I ain't leavin' So don't sit around and cry Just roll me up and smoke me when I die. Just roll me up and smoke me when I die.
  21. This was better than the last two years, but it was still not as great as when the series first came out. Maybe it's just because it's nothing we don't already say to/about ourselves already. We get overhyped, we break tables, and the team is usually mediocre. The city is cold. Just the same jokes retreaded. This fan comment made me laugh though. "F**k Sean McDermott’s phony, psalm-spewing, flag-humping, troop-sniffing, Ron Howard-looking ass. All of his ginger mean mugs and aggressive clapping do not impress Bill Belichick."
  22. It's perfectly acceptable for a woman to relax in the bathtub with a glass or two of wine, what's wrong with cold one in the shower?
  23. It seems like yesterday But it was long ago Janey was lovely she was the queen of my nights There in the darkness with the radio playing low And the secrets that we shared The mountains that we moved Caught like a wildfire out of control 'Til there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove And I remember what she said to me How she swore that it never would end I remember how she held me oh so tight Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then Against the wind We were runnin' against the wind We were young and strong, we were runnin' Against the wind The years rolled slowly past And I found myself alone Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends I found myself further and further from my home And I guess I lost my way There were oh so many roads I was living to run and running to live Never worried about paying or even how much I owed Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time Breaking all of the rules that would bend I began to find myself searching Searching for shelter again and again Against the wind A little something against the wind I found myself seeking shelter against the wind Well those drifter's days are past me now I've got so much more to think about Deadlines and commitments What to leave in, what to leave out Against the wind I'm still runnin' against the wind I'm older now but still runnin' against the wind Well I'm older now and still runnin' Against the wind Against the wind Against the wind Still runnin' I'm still runnin' against the wind I'm still runnin' I'm still runnin' against the wind Still runnin' Runnin' against the wind Runnin' against the wind See the young man run Watch the young man run Watch the young man runnin' He'll be runnin' against the wind Let the cowboys ride Let the cowboys ride They'll be ridin' against the wind Against the wind ...
