  1. Honestly, I used to hate disco. Then I gave it a real listen. I hate the culture that surrounds it, but musically it's actually really good.
  2. Ride, captain ride upon your mystery ship Be amazed at the friends you have here on your trip Ride captain ride upon your mystery ship On your way to a world that others might have missed
  3. 23-0. #SuperBowl #PreseasonMatters
  4. I was at a Skynyrd/Kid Rock concert at Darien Lake. Standing right up front on the lawn. Some guy next to me was filming in a way that was harming nobody. But the @sshole security guard made me miss half the show because he was standing in front of him constantly making sure he wasn't filming.
  5. Yeah. @DC Tom and I were just talking about how our playoff team in 17 wasn't that great. He was saying that even the losers get lucky sometimes.
  6. What things do you enjoy watching, listening to, etc. that you know you shouldn't, but you do anyway? One for me, Larry the Cable Guy. I understand it's low brow humor. I personally love witty, dry thoughtful humor. I know he's far from that. But there's just something about him that make me laugh.
  7. To me that seems to be taking it too far. 1) I do like to use my phone before the show, between sets, etc. 2) Like you said, an emergency. 3) Do they actually check that you have a phone? What's stopping me form just saying I don't have one, or didn't bring it. I'm all for phone free concerts. But just implement a policy that you get kicked TF out without warning if you violate it.
  8. Billy Powell - Piano player for Lynyrd Skynyrd.
  9. It would definitely be a step up. They'll be getting their asses handed to them for the next few years, but their recruiting would obviously get much better. I admit my bias as a fan of an AAC team, but top to bottom, I think AAC, is just as good, and assuming nobody else leaves, will be arguably better than the Big 12. Other than Texas and Oklahoma, I think the rest of the schools are at least on par with our conference.
  10. I recently found someone who sat in the back row of the front section, center stage, right by the mixing booth and recorded the whole Stones concert. Not great quality, but good enough that I can relive the memories if I wanted to.
  11. Don't you love her madly? Wanna be her daddy? Don't ya love her face? Don't ya love her as she's walkin' out the door Like she did one thousand times before?
  12. Rocketman. They were excellent takes on awesome songs.
  13. I wanna rock and roll all night.
  14. It's littering meets Pokeman Go.
  15. As a Houston fan, I'd love to see it. It'd give me an excuse to come home every other year or so. They don't have the facilities though. I know when we had to build a new stadium we played in the Texans stadium as a temporary home for a year or two. The other school we've been looking at bringing in has been BYU. A better candidate on paper, except the fact that because they're a Mormon school, they refuse to play on Sundays. Which doesn't effect football much, but basketball and definitely baseball. Although there's been rumors about them joining the conference as a football only school.
  16. IN THIS THREAD: Have a full conversation, but you can only speak in song titles. You can have more than one song title per post, but try to make it as coherent of a conversation as possible. I'll start with a softball to get it rolling. Who are you?
  17. The thing is, you can take video/pictures without putting them high in the air to bother people. I usually take a few pictures of the highlights, and one verse and chorus of my favorite song or two. I hold it literally right above or below my eye line as to not bother anybody else. That was half the fun, the people watching. It was such an odd crowd. 60% or so were just like me. People who went for the game and stayed for the concert because "What the hell?" The other half were church groups and you'd have thought it was The Beatles with special guest Elvis Presley the way they treated them.
  18. Honestly, couldn't remember. It was faith and family night. Christian band. Musically speaking they were adult contemporary. Wasn't really my cup of tea but it wasn't bad for a free show. Just googled it. MercyMe.
  19. I thought it was fantastic. Helps when you go in with at least a little bit of knowledge about the Manson family. So many subplots and clips from movies/TV shows the main character acted in that are just plain fun. The gratuitous violence that Tarentino is known for really doesn't come in until the end, except a few fist fight scenes, but totally worth it.
  20. The Load Out. I've always loved anything that gave a behind the scene glimpse of the life of musicans. And it sums up what I've heard from every musicans from bar bands to world tour headliners. You never get bored of playing the shows. You do that part for free. It's all the set up/take town/travel etc that you get paid for.
