  1. They did what I was hoping for with Taylor. They screwed up with Gilmore. Should have tried to extend him last off season when he wanted to talk. He was obviously playing to protect himself all season to get to this point and he found someone willing to pay him. That's the business. Good for him, I suppose. Now I'd take those new fullbacks and run at Gilmore all day long twice a year. He doesn't mind tackling when he's motivated, but he also doesn't seem to know how to do it without getting himself hurt.
  2. I'd rather they try to sign Alzner for a bit less money. Probably just a rumor I heard but there's been a lot of talk that Shattenkirk wants to be with the Rangers next year.
  3. That sounds awesome. I hope you have a great trip.
  4. I pretty much agree with all this. I think Falk and Fedun should play as much as possible from here on out. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kulikov be given some time off if he's still fighting a lingering injury. Showcase time is over for him (not like he did anyone any favors by his quality of play). I think they should figure out who's going to be here next year and play them on the ice together as much as possible. And Bylsma needs to quit juggling combinations. I love old-style dump and chase, but I realize that style isn't where it's at in this NHL, especially with teams' ability to move pucks out of their own end with relative ease, and with the elimination of two line passes. I also think a possession style would take a good deal of pressure off of the defenseman. It is amazing to see how many decisions the coaching staff has made which make the defense's life more difficult (like grinding down low in the offensive side and trying to make plays from behind the net).
  5. (1) compounding the Bogosian and Kulikov decisions is the fact that each was viewed as top 4 defensemen on this roster. Neither is playing that way, so it leaves the team with a bunch of 5's and 6's. (2) I've gone the other way on Kane for several reasons. See #1 for one of them. I don't know if Murray has the right viewpoint on Defensemen and I don't trust that he will get a good return for Kane. Seems as though Murray wants two-way guys (who doesn't) but he should stick with primarily stay-at-home guys and one or two puck movers.
  6. How much would a Wood pay cut if he won't cut then cut Wood??
  7. Time will tell on Podesta. He might be smart at tearing down a team and acquiring draft choices, but he'd better have put together a good scouting staff and the rubber hasn't hit the road yet because he has to translate the picks into a good team.
  8. Seattle didn't get there by having 12 picks in one draft. They got there by being smart with who they chose -- then they had to make tough choices regarding who they kept vs. who they let go. I didn't say anything about Seattle's last 5 years and whether I want the Bills to have that kind of success.
  9. You can only keep so many. Ask Pete Carroll about that and see how many super bowls he's won since he had to bleed off good players. ...and every team has 5th round pro bowl players. Heck, our QB is a 6th rounder.
  10. I think it is like smell-o-vision.
  11. If half of Cleveland's picks work out from last year and this year, they're going to have huge salary cap problems in the next 4-5 years.
  12. NYR are my adopted local team. I've always liked watching the Leafs play. I love watching them lose. And that "go leafs go" chant late in the third was weak.
  13. Watching it now. Two teams very similar. I'm going to msg on Sunday vs blue jackets.
  14. The first bolded part -- you take the bait easily and I like reading your posts. The second bolded part -- try graft and kickbacks.
  15. Oh I agree. I just didn't expect him to look so slight. I'm sure he will be fine, and I can wait for that. Comes from a good background that knows what it takes to get into and succeed in the NHL.
  16. Yeah, but that Area 51 spaceship must not have been very good because (a) it crashed, and (b) we've been studying it for 60 years and all we got is Moon mission. As far as NASA's ROI - I agree with you for the most part, especially since their budget has been cut so far back.
  17. No. He's the adult. Take a video for after they run away. Go in the house. Call 911. Shoot them if they try to follow you inside. There's absolutely no other option.
  18. "Seller" or not, he should move Kulikov. I don't see what that guy provides at all. He's not solid defensively, and he's got about three or four points on the year.
  19. Maybe someone should spend money on continuing to steal the Area 51 tech from the crashed spaceship so we can fly 40 light years to somewhere else. Then try to figure out where to fly.
  20. Nothing good EVER comes out of an adult confrontation with a teenager. The guy should have called on-duty cops to handle things.
  21. Maybe you're right, but I couldn't care less. The NASA announcement yesterday said that something might be 40 light years away. Nobody is ever going to see it or communicate with it even if it is there. Looking for life on other planets is the second biggest waste of money I can think of.
  22. I was flipping through the channels last night and came across the Amerks vs. Utica game on MSG (in NYC area - no locals were playing). Nylander looked tiny out there. He's listed as 6'0" 180, but he doesn't look it.
