  1. Healthcare and education are not federal matters to legislate, according to the Constitution. For the federal government to make healthcare a mandate across state lines is a slide toward socialism. I'm not saying that this isn't an admirable goal, but it doesn't fit into the way our respective federal and state governments have been set up and maintained. Ask yourself when the US was ranked in the top 10 globally in healthcare (I don't know if we are or are not -- I'm just going with your premise). What changed? Who took over running that show?
  2. ...who don't one day turn around and decide to stop providing for everyone who decided to suck the tit. That's when the socialism becomes "enforced".
  3. I've loved the Sox since the '70s. How I latched onto that team is still a mystery in my mind. It made for some interesting Summers with my dad (a staunch Yankee fan -- we always agreed on the Bills and Sabres, it was nice to be opposites in the summer. He gave me so much crap until that great ALCS). I really came to dislike what Papi made of himself. He was, in his mind, "the" team. I won't miss him.
  4. I'm psyched for the Sox this season, especially because Papi is gone. The East is going to be tough.
  5. Oh, I do read your posts. I've just chosen to not respond to them. Thanks for trying to inform me. Have a great day.
  6. Pretty much sums it up, except that the Mets need an upgrade at catcher. And if Matz and Wheeler can throw during the first half of the season, then I'd consider Matz to be trade bait.
  7. I just want to say that I don't use the "ignore" feature that is provided on this site. I self-police. Have a great day.
  8. Isn't that an argument in favor of the ablative? Also, I don't think one could speak like Yoda without the ablative, so there's that, too. Last, I think you also exhibited the controversial 8th Latin case (expletive).
  9. Could I possibly remember that there are 7 Latin cases from my high school days? None are instrumental.
  10. And it took him 17 years to come up with his devious scheming. What took him so long? Then again, what am I thinking ... Russia was a laughable threat only four and a half years ago.
  11. Rest in peace, indeed. My dad is going soon. I dread it.
  12. Putin has been Prime Minister or President of Russia sine 2008. Do you think he waited 8 years to meddle in US Presidential elections? I don't. Do you think anyone is investigating those 2008 and 2012 elections? I don't. Do you think Russia's influence on any of those three elections tipped the balance? I don't.
  13. Make an anonymous phone call to the Pastor of his church. You're worried about him, right?
  14. And the Red Wings are just coming off a 25 year run of success after their last rebuild. I will wait another year or two for that string of playoff runs.
  15. No, but I'd like some satisfaction before I go. The only way I'd like to live forever (or choose my demise) is if I get to choose who else gets to live forever -- and even then I don't think I'd opt for it. I don't want to spend eternety with a bunch of jerks having any impact on how I live.
  16. Every time this season I thought the defense played well, they were conscientiously keeping the crease open for Lehner to get good looks at shots coming in. Sounds basic but this only seems to happen half the time. I don't think either the defense is capable of helping Lehner game in and game out, nor can Lehner overcome poor play in the defensive zone.
  17. I will be good to go when the Bills win the Super Bowl and the Sabres win the Stanley Cup.
  18. Wrooooong. So wrong... I read this. Unfortunately your one vote didn't count for several, like our electoral college should. You know who else had well thought out gibberish like your post: Hillary Clinton.
  19. I think you meant hola carte. And the more I think about it, Nanker won the popular vote and therefore the debate, just like the lib protesters wanted it to go down in November. Where was his fancy electoral college to protect me from the tyranny? You all should be ashamed of yourselves, jackboot liberals taking away my rights to suit your agendas. I think there were some ineligible voters, too. Either that, or the vote was suppressed because nobody was allowed to register. That too! I'm going to get a petition going and make my kids dress like uteruses and we're going on a march.
  20. I don't support that and never will. In fact, that's what got me to thinking about my proposal (which I believe is already done in Maine and Nebraska).
  21. True, but on that coin, she looks like George Washington with Weezy Jefferson's wig on.
  22. The Queen probably had her people do it. That image wasn't too flattering.
