  1. ...for some people, yes. I told my wife (Mets fan) that by the seventh inning, the Stadium looked like Citi Field in mid-July last night. This game is far from over. I've seen this Yankee team come back in late innings a lot this season.
  2. There's going to be great entertainment coming out of the Dem primaries. They will eat each other and it will be fun to watch.
  3. "It's those pesky rules that keep making us lose! Gotta change those rules and everything will be better."
  4. Several times last night Eichel decided to put his head down and dick around with the puck, turning his back to the play, giving a Ranger an easy opportunity to dispossess him and take the play in the other direction. Eichel's overall game was completely ineffective. He looked like the third option on his line, behind Sheary and Rineheart. He couldn't win defensive zone faceoffs. If Eichel is going to be considered one of the best in the league, he needs to play better than that.
  5. What I see is that they need to keep the Rangers from sustaining pressure in the Sabres zone. And they are really sloppy with the puck. Not going to win much if your team can't control the puck for long stretches. Hutton has been the star of the first period. Dahlin will be good someday. He's not good yet.
  6. I think they chose to go with Severino in the wildcard game because it was at the stadium. There was a lot of talk going into the A's game that said they were very nervous that he would come out overhyped - like last year, and I think they figured it was better to deal with it at home (even in an elimination game) than put him in Fenway in game 1. And I agree with you that Severino is a better pitcher and a horse, he's just still a young pitcher. His stuff is exceptional.
  7. My wife is keeping that flame burning on a regular basis. Perfect timing and delivered with a flourish. It isn't ruined yet by a long shot.
  8. Hell, I can barely remember what I did last weekend -- and I was mostly sober.
  9. I'm reserving judgment for the next two home games. The Bruins came out hot after a disappointing opener. I fully expect the Sabres to give a good effort against the Rangers.
  10. You'd think Menendez would have some empathy for Kavanaugh after loudly insisting that he was falsely accused for years. Such a statesman, he is.
  11. The only thing I really care about with that article is how the Times reporters got their hands on 100,000 pages of tax filings and what appears to be internal corporate documents. These items are not usually in the public domain. Other than that, WGAS. The Feds, the State, and probably the City of New York had their shots at auditing Trump and his subsidiaries, and seeking to collect underpayments. I think out of the Feds, NYS and NYC, the only jurisdiction that might have a shot at him is the State. The disingenuous DiBlasio soundbite yesterday about the City going after Trump was more dog and pony.
  12. Whether that's true or not, it was Schumer who wants to extend it to midterm elections.
  13. Looks like the Bruins are going to show up pissed off. I hope we kick them in the head tomorrow.
  14. Not the least of which is that Labor supports it. I bet they feel dirty about it. That guy is an idiot. The "A" is for "Agreement". So the US got two scoops of letters and Mexico and Canada each got one. Idiot.
  15. They didn't have the balls to do it last week when Trump was actually at the UN?
  16. Welcome aboard! I agree about Francona, too, and I wouldn't mind Cleveland winning it all.
  17. I don't think the delay strategy has so much to do with D's thinking that they can flip the Senate. They want their "on the fence" candidates to be free to vote with the D's after the election. Before the midterms, there are a few D Senators that need to vote to confirm Kavanaugh. He will probably wind up as a PBS talking head.
  18. Wilson looked like a useful piece last season. To bad he got injured. It will be interesting to see what happens when he gets back on the ice. All in all, this group is so much more talented than we've seen in years. Hopefully they get off to a good start and make it past that historic Halloween "deadline".
