  1. I hope you're right. Seems like man coverage should be a strength for someone with Corner's attributes.
  2. Something Bruce had that Maybin doesn't seem to have is an understanding of angles. Bruce may have taken his blocker in one direction or another, but it was with the intent of creating a direct angle of attack to the QB. Maybin needs to be able to visualize this better instead of just flailing around at high speed.
  3. 1. Matthew Stafford (QB) 2. Jason Smith (T) 3. Tyson Jackson (DE) 4. Aaron Curry (LB) 5. Mark Sanchez (QB) 6. Andre Smith (T) 7. Darrius Heyward-Bey (WR) 8. Eugene Monroe (T) 9. BJ Raji (DT) 10. Michael Crabtree (WR) 11. Aaron Maybin (DE/LB) 12. Knowshon Moreno (HB) There are more than a fair share of projects on this list IMO.
  4. I think a lot of the anger and disappointment towards Trent tonight comes from those who still had unrealistic expectations of the guy. In my mind, it's established that the guy won't ever sniff a pro bowl and may never captain a team with a winning record. At this point, the goal is to find the best of what we got till the next guy comes along.
  5. It looked bad to me at first, but he was seen on the bench going through a battery of physical tests. May not be too bad.
  6. Evans may take a share of the blame, but you just don't make that throw in that situation. Even Brown had better sense than Edwards in that same situation except that he threw the ball away (for a penalty) instead of putting it up for grabs with a flat-footed WR.
  7. Actually, here is some good news....Spiller showed that he shouldn't have any problems getting outside for big gains. He gets around the edge as good as any RB I've seen.
  8. This don't count for much, but Brown did "have the look" of a pro-QB back there....good size and a better throwing motion than either Trent or Fitzy. I definitely want to see more...
  9. Pretty much.
  10. Practice squad! For realz.
  11. Yeah, I think Chan is wondering if he bit off more than he can chew with this crop of "gunslingers."
  12. lol...it's just so easy to hate on the QBs
  13. I thought there was definitely more upside to Trent's play than Fitz's. Take away the INT (which was very, very bad) and the overthrow on the deep pass and it was a serviceable performance. I thought Fitz looked like sh-- for the most part. Bad pocket presence, bad timing on his throws, off target a lot. He was the benefactor of a nice run play and blown coverage in the end zone. Neither of these guys are the answer though.
  14. Only one game, but I'm also concerned about Moats. The Bills seem to have a hard time keeping LBs on the field, so an almost total newbie like this is worrisome. It was hard enough to start 3 quality LBs in the past...4 might be a problem. If things go well then he can contribute on STs this season and learn in practice...if things don't go well...then yikes! It might be a very long season.
  15. Did Florence play? I don't remember his name being called...maybe that's a good thing?
  16. I thought Ellis looked pretty good...and McCargo although most was mop-up time. Was very disappointed in the LB play aside from the first series. We need those starters back!
  17. If the big-bodied Nelson keeps this up, then Hardy's going to be out of a gig.
  18. I can't disagree, but thought I'd present another side.
  19. Maybin just seems desperate to prove himself and is playing out-of-control to achieve that goal. If I were an offensive coordinator, I'd take advantage of his over-aggressive pass rush every chance I could.
  20. If I were to pick one guy on offense that I trusted to miss most of the pre-season and be ready for the reg season, it would be Freddy.
  21. But he did. Putting players in motion, the offensive linemen's behavior to confuse the defense...it's all practice. THAT'S a truly unique situation to become accustomed to in a game situation.
  22. My wife's family plays Settler's of Catan at almost every gathering (especially during the colder months) and it constantly devolves into bitterness and aggravation between family members.
  23. Yes and yes.
