  1. Consider a dash of cinammon also. Sounds weird, but it's pretty good. Not to mention that it is a key ingredient in Nick Tahoe's meat sauce.
  2. Not only won't she support Mozilla/Firefox on PC, she won't support Mozilla/Camino, Safari, or IE 5 for Mac! This is horrible. First time I've regretted owning a Mac. Edit: Add Opera to that list as well.
  3. I'd love to see Shaud make this team, but I'll be damned if he stays on punt returns. He didn't seem to have a knack for finding the running lanes. On the last return a huge gap opened up and he hit it hard (his best quality as a RB) and ended up losing the football. Although he was ruled down by contact, he had clearly lost his grip on the ball. Leave the kick returns to Clements and McGee. Also, I'm gonna feel bad when Haddad gets cut. Made a great sideline catch, stuck w/ the hail mary pass, and has super hands. I just don't think he's multi-dimensional enough to stick around. Bring on the reg season!!!
  4. But then I wouldn't get to see your cool avatar of Dr. Doom. That is Dr. Doom right?
  5. Terrence Wilkins got cut. I thought he might be a decent addition but not at the expense of losing Shaw.
  6. Anyone familiar with Bill James' baseball abstracts? He's one of the top baseball analysts who writes about the history of the game and its players using detailed stats and formulas. His abstracts are the basis of Billy Beene's management philosophy of the A's (documented in the book "Moneyball") and he has also heavily influenced the Red Sox GM Theo Epstein. Why am I mentioning this on TSW? Well, I find James' work interesting and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with an equivalent type of scientific analysis for football. Not so much a "history of football from day 1" type book, but more a "The '78 Steelers played defense X on 3rd down and had 89% success with it so it should be used as a model for, blah, blah, blah" kind of thing. I realize that football isn't as statistically driven as baseball, but it seems like some kind of analysis could be valuable to the game.
  7. Don't confuse the "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" with the "Extreme Makeover Superficial Giving into the Pressures of Society Pointless Surgery Edition" The former is actually very benevolent, while the latter is just crap.
  8. I recommend bittorrent for anything legal that you want to download. http://dessent.net/btfaq/
  9. If you use Firefox you don't even need the Google bar. Firefox blocks pop ups automagically and incluces a Google search box built into the toolbar! Schweet stuff.
  10. Nice tidbit Mark. Thanks.
  11. Personally, I would like to see him get his message out to the public and support his candidate.
  12. Prove to me that he met the terms of his contract and then we can talk.
  13. I saw Terrence Wilkins name pop up. Don't know if WE really need him, but it was kind of a surprise all the same.
  14. That is awesome! You are a credit to your party. Keep up the great work!
  15. Maybe I didn't make myself clear....I don't give a crap about Ricky's well being. This is a lowlife move and it warrants no praise or respect.
  16. Dolphins | Williams May File for Bankruptcy - from www.KFFL.com Mon, 30 Aug 2004 23:24:08 -0700 Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, citing an ESPN report, reports former Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams may file bankruptcy in hope of avoiding repaying the Dolphins $8.6 million the team is trying to recoup from him due to his retirement. The Dolphins sent Williams a letter that he needed to report by Monday, Aug. 30, or they would begin the process of recouping the money. Williams, of course, did not report to the team. ------ Does anyone know Ricky's justification for keeping the money? Under what circumstances does he think that he has earned it? These aren't the actions of a man who is planning on returning to the league any time soon. This is a pretty big bridge to burn.
  17. Does Lenny P. being on the Bills' payroll count against the salary cap?
  18. Ron Edwards? I've got no love for the guy, but he has proven to be as solid 3rd guy as you could ask for. Has Bannan improved that much? I also hope you're wrong about Shaud. Simonton has been cut by us before and I don't see that changing this year.
  19. where ya been? see the post pinned to the top. help is on the way!
  20. To say that he has three great backs is a stretch. Henry IS a great back, who will unfortunately be splitting time with another back who has shown a nose for the endzone from inside the 20. Minor has never really accomplished anything in the league and it has been reported that he has looked terrible in camp. Griffin has the potential to be a very good back this year and for stevestojan's sake, I hope he does. Otherwise, it may be a long year of scanning the free agent list trying to get lucky on sleepers.
  21. 5: Peyton Manning I would have picked up Portis or Alexander, but I don't think you are as screwed as others are making you out to be. In my CBS league last year, Manning scored the most fantasy points. 24: Travis Henry (needed a back badly at this point) 33: L. Coles (my worst pick of the draft, just think I should have gone RB again) 52: Quentin Griffin Good pick IMO. I think he's going to have a great year. You better hope so since you are kinda thin at RB. 61: Plaxico Burris Good pick. I don't like the guy, but he produces. 80: M. Vanderjagt (early for a kicker, but he gets decent points every single week) 89: Bubba Franks (needed to go TE soon, and the big guns were gone) Used to be a fantasy stud (for TEs), but hasn't been solid of late. 108:Defense of the Dallas Cowboys Sorry, but I doubt that the rest of your draft will account for more than 5% of your overall points for the season. Maybe that's all you will need. 117:M. Booker (what I like to call the steal of the draft. Sure, he's with Mia, but 117th??) 136:Antowain "Frigging" Smith. (I dont wanna talk about it. I needed a backup RB) 145:Tommy Maddox (Another Steal in my opinion. Only need him for 1 game - Peyton's BYE) 164:Travis Minor (Can't believe no one, including myself, nabbed him before 164) 173:A. Becht (just backups folks) 192:Billy Cundiff (by this point, i was drunk and didnt care) 201:Pittsburghs Defense Ok, let's hear it Good luck
  22. And ditto for week 2 against Oakland with their two fat guys...Washington and Sapp. Looks like we'll be running around the ends for a while.
  23. I would do the Griffin/Jackson deal. Not sure about the Shockey/Heap one tho'. TEs are tough to measure. I think that Shockey is more likely to be injured. Good luck.
  24. Here, here! Weinke is available right?!
  25. Joe Theisman has teamed up with a woman who looks like an older version of Will & Grace's friend Ellen. High on the unintentional comedy scale. I suppose it makes sense since Joe T. seems to think that he knows-it-all anyway.
