Jeez, my initial reaction is that the Saints got a high caliber CB for a bag of footballs.

Time for Mularkey to institute a fine...
MattyT replied to Gavin in Va Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was half hoping that he would pull one of those moves where he gathers the entire team around in a circle, slams his clipboard onto the ground, and then walks into his office without a word. Not sure what that would accomplish, but that's what I would've done. Just want to see a little fire. Not too much to ask at this point. -
Golisano steps down as Paychex CEO
MattyT replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even though the guy is a billionaire I kinda feel sorry for him. He probably gets pitched every half-assed project known to man on the pretense that he needs to do it to "Save Western NY." I would be willing to bet that he has invested in some things that go against every bit of his good business sense. Hey Tom, wanna buy a fast ferry? Hockey Team? Arts center? Bridge? WNBA? I just hope he doesn't take his business elsewhere. -
You might be going a bit far by benching Henry, but I wouldn't mind seeing McGahee thrown into the mix more often to turn the pressure up a notch for Henry to perform. I wouldn't put Mularkey's job on the line over this though. *YET*

Does anyone know where Drew Bledsoe Lives?
MattyT replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, if anyone knows the answer to this please email Drew at One Bills Drive. He forgot his address and phone number after the pounding he took during yesterday's game and would like to go home. -
1. If you know and understand these four words you too can create a winning game plan versus the Bills. They are? (This s/b easy) BLITZ-BLITZ-BLITZ-BLITZ 2. The success or failure in the baseball playoffs of which individual player (name him) will mean the most to his team's chances this year? (medium difficulty, but if you think....) Johan Santana (EDIT:oooo...now that I see that Uconn was wrong I would like to change my guess to Keith Foulke!) 3. In which of her videos does Martina McBride look the hottest? (Should be easy, probably won't be) The one with the country song. 4. Which song should replace "Eye in the Sky" as an intro song for sports teams/events (you'll master this test if you get this). Sirius by the Alan Parsons Project 5. Which player from the 2004 draft would have made the biggest difference to the Bils this year if they had drafted him? (Medium difficulty - it does not matter what round he was picked or which player they would have not ended up with. Imagine they just had a free pick now and only wanted to have an impact based on performaces thus far). Sean Taylor

Okay who was the Free Safety yesterday?
MattyT replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a few players on injured reserve from shaking and hanging their head low so frequently. -

I think that at least one or two of the plays in question were in Cover 2, which my understanding is that the safeties both play deep and are responsible for their respective sides of the field. So, if the QB threw to the strong side, then the SS theorectically had deep coverage. But your question is still valid because I don't really even remember Reese's name being mentioned. -
Apprentice was on last night because of the debates. I can PM you the name of the person who got fired if you want. They should be replaying it over the weekend though.

I feel that most of the pressure has been coming from the edge and the stats kind of support it. The OT's have given up 3 sacks this season vs. the Guards and Center who have given up only 1 (the lone sack being credited to Ross Tucker...a backup). That said...3 sacks by the OTs in two games isn't bad. For the most part, the O-line is getting the job done. It's the other blockers ...TE/HB/FB that aren't getting the job done. I will concede that pressure is coming from the middle from blitzing LBs and DBs, but I still think it is disproportionate to the amount of edge pressure. Everything else you said was spot on tho'.

"This, ladies and gentlemen, is the total distance that Bledsoe has scrambled in his career."

Think he reads TSW? I feel shame.

Perhaps he could get a nice big set of Elway teeth.

Losman Has Tickets To A Play Oct. 9th
MattyT replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. The Bobby Shaw festival...where all of the concession stand workers dance after simply doing their job and talk smack to the audience members. -
Losman jogs and Jesus walked on water. Savior!!!

Never. Hockey is a better sport as a second class citizen. Once you elevate the players above the game, then the quality of the game only suffers. Half of these guys come from farms in northern Canada and appreciate the game for what it is without making it all about them. I'll take the kid who grinds it out at both ends over the guy who plays soft to save his enery to pad his stats and improve his contract figures. Hockey's biggest star (Gretzky) is about as down to earth as anyone who posts on this board.

Anyone else here wants to see McGahee
MattyT replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't matter to me which back starts as long McGahee sees more touches and they get more creative with how the two backs are used. -
I think that Losman NEEDS to play this season, but us fans need to adjust our expectations. It's not important that Losman comes in and does or doesn't play up to the level of Manning, Marino, or McNabb, either in their rookie season or prime. What IS important is that Losman simply breathes some life into this team and gives management help to determine what our true week points are. Is it the 0-line? Tight end? Can we say for sure that our veteran QB is no longer servicable? Is it the scheme or how the scheme is applied? Very few lessons can be learned by continuing to stay the course. It is necessary to experiment to see what does and doesn't work with our personnel. If Losman comes in and is able to create some offense by scrambling for yardage and/or distributing the ball to several different players with the same offense that Drew is struggling with then, if you ask me, THAT is the most important thing that we could get out of our QB of the future. Honestly, I think that some of this could be answered by plugging Matthews in for even half a game just to get the perspective from a different QB. If nothing changes offensive production-wise, then that might also be meaningful. As far as injuring the kid....well that's what the offseason is for.

6.0 earth quake in central california
MattyT replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So let me get this straight...there is a town known as "California's earthquake capital" that is located on the San Andreas fault and experiences these types of quakes with "apparent regularity?" No wonder they have a population of 37! This might be one of the few places in Cali where real estate prices are reasonable. -
All it would let me do is pat the ball! PAT-PAT-PAT And then I ended up on my back and everything turned yellow.
-
Naw...they just knock you on your a$$ as soon as you walk through the door.

You can pretty much credit Roy Williams for saving the Cowboys butt at the end of the game. If Gardner makes that catch without Roy stopping him dead with that great hit, then Gardner would have easily gotten out of bounds. Hell of a player...I would love to have either him OR Freeney from that draft.
