It just came out in the news that Couch has been diagnosed with a "fraying" rotator cuff. This will require surgery and 4-5 mos. of rehab. This on top of the fact that he's really not much of a QB and is a crybaby...
Still want him?

I like the matchup of the Steelers vs. the Pats better than the Colts and Pats for the following reasons:
- Steelers talent is distributed throughout the team. Colts are required to outgun all teams with their offense. Cutting off the head of Manning means that the Colts die. If Big Ben's head gets cut off (which it likely will) the Steelers still have enough talent defensively and with the running game to stay alive and remain a threat. It's already happened at times this season and Pitt has managed to succeed.
- Weather factors will not be an excuse. Both teams are accustomed to challenging conditions (unlike Colts).
- NE wins at home. Period. They're not at home. Question mark?
Go Steelers!
Whew thank God! If this was another rehash of Mort's comments about Bledsoe I was going to finally put that arsenic pill to good use.
Thanks for the info.
I think that he's the ultimate trade bait. He does great..scratch that..unfathomable things on the field sometimes, but I just don't think that he will ever be consistant and reliable enough to lead his team to the big dance.
Using the perception that the league considers him one of the Top 5 or 10 players, you could basically name your price for him.
Or....they DID pay attention to the Chargers-Jets game last week where last year's hot sh-- rookie kicker Keading missed a key field goal and may prefer a veteran kicker instead.
I'm just saying.
I'd say much less.
In the game of football, I don't think there is much more cause for optimism than having a stud Rookie waiting in the wings when the QB, and supposed heart of your team, is dragging the team into the ground.
Even if it doesn't pan out...the potential doesn't get much greater.
