  1. I think they do....they used it to grab Walt.
  2. From an AP article.... The researchers, reflecting the inherent uncertainties in such extrapolations, said they were 95 percent certain that the real number lay somewhere between 392,979 and 942,636 deaths. If there is any real news from this study it may be in the sentence that followed in the article. Even the smaller figure is almost eight times the estimate some others have derived. General Casey thinks that the numbers in the study are way too high and that the highest number he has seen is 50,000. So basically the study is probably way too high while the gov'ts numbers are probably way too low and the truth is somewhere in between.
  3. That was a nice interview.....if they were 12 yrs old. Those guys get paid for this?
  4. Ah. Actually I think you're right! Didn't catch it. I originally thought that you were referring to the fact that the pilot was a Yankee was somehow ironic.
  5. Teach me. Point out the irony in this thread.
  6. Yeah....but now people are going to call him BJ. Bet he didn't think of that.
  7. I'll set the Tivo. Thanks.
  8. Couldn't they just preempt it with the Lingerie Bowl, Foxy Boxing or something worth watching?
  9. White and Nerdy is catchy as hell. Damn song stays in my head for hours.
  10. Getting Conlon and Bennett (and Odomes in retrospect) that year was HUGE! We haven't made any maneuvers of that magnitude to justify a significant swing in performance comparable to that team's. It's a nice thought though.
  11. I'm just guessing, but welcome back?
  12. I like Baker, but I have my doubts about him being better than a healthy Bowen. The overall impression that I have of Bowen is that he is everything that Coy Wire was supposed to be, but isn't.
  13. Maybe he used our Bledsoe years as a non-example.
  14. This book is by Michael Lewis who wrote Moneyball and Liar's Poker. I have only read Moneyball, but really enjoyed it. Liar's Poker is about Wall Street. The Blind Side takes an interesting angle by featuring the offensive left tackle position. Here's a review from Amazon: Starred Review. As he did so memorably for baseball in Moneyball, Lewis takes a statistical X-ray of the hidden substructure of football, outlining the invisible doings of unsung players that determine the outcome more than the showy exploits of point scorers. In his sketch of the gridiron arms race, first came the modern, meticulously choreographed passing offense, then the ferocious defensive pass rusher whose bone-crunching quarterback sacks demolished the best-laid passing game, and finally the rise of the left tackle—the offensive lineman tasked with protecting the quarterback from the pass rusher—whose presence is felt only through the game-deciding absence of said sacks. A rare creature combining 300 pounds of bulk with "the body control of a ballerina," the anonymous left tackle, Lewis notes, is now often a team's highest-paid player. Lewis fleshes this out with the colorful saga of left tackle prodigy Michael Oher. An intermittently homeless Memphis ghetto kid taken in by a rich white family and a Christian high school, Oher's preternatural size and agility soon has every college coach in the country courting him obsequiously. Combining a tour de force of sports analysis with a piquant ethnography of the South's pigskin mania, Lewis probes the fascinating question of whether football is a matter of brute force or subtle intellect. 16. Activist Arrested After Cousin Beaten Sad.
  17. The conspiracy continues. That video locked up my system something fierce. The government is watching.
  18. If the Bills play their next home game like they did in Chicago, then they might as well rename the stadium "The Vomitory."
  19. I don't have an answer to your question, but is that the only Bills reference in TMQ? If so, we got off easy this week.
  20. Kornheiser is at his best when he can be loudmouthed and argumentative. (Believe it or not that is a compliment.) Unfortunately, MNF is not exactly the forum for his style of broadcasting. If they dumped Tirico, added Wilbon, and just let the two of them tear into Theismann, then we would have some entertaining television my friends. You wouldn't know what was going on in the game..... but you would probably be getting some chuckles.
  21. Dillon, Desmond Clark, and the Colts D against the friggin Titans! This wasn't a good week.
  22. We need to build a big fence around all the train tracks to keep illegal trespassers out. And hire people to patrol these fences.
  23. Out with online poker....IN WITH THE TRANSPARENT TALIBAN!!! Seriously, WTF does he mean by a "more transparent type of government?" The ability of the US to keep tabs on them if the Taliban is integrated with the Afghan government? This whole premise flies in the face of the whole "with us or against us" and "not recognizing terrorist regimes" thing that Bush puffs himself up about.
  24. A guy on another (non-Bills) message board said that if Bush signs this bill into law that he will not vote for him again.
