Of course they're not as good. However, lack of a vertical threat didn't seem to hurt them back when they won 3 Super Bowls with an average WR height of around 5-11. Seriously though...they put in mid-range to low-end players and get All Pro performances out of most of them and we can't even get our high draft picks and "franchise players" to any sort of level of respectability. THAT's the main difference.

Can we change the game to predicting players who will still be on the Bills by the end of the season? Cause that might be much more difficult.

Just guessing, but the Bills prob delayed the trade so they could field the best team possible at home against a division rival. Probably seemed like a good idea in retrospect

This, plus Seattle didn't draft an RB with any of their 5 picks in the first 4 rounds despite all the best backs being available to them...so I've got very little reason to think that they were desperate enough to overpay for Lynch.

Lynch was not drafted by the current GM or coach. Having an under-performing 1st rd HB with behavioral issues was the card he was dealt by the previous regime. Before being named the starter in the first week, "the new hot pick" got 26 carries in the pre-season compared to Lynch's 5 and Jackson's 2 (due to injuries) before being held out of the 4th pre-season game. He was as ready as he needed to be. They won't admit this is a mistake because I'd be shocked if they honestly thought they would have the personnel to do this at this point.

The more I think about it I think the new guys at OBD did pretty good with the cards they were dealt. They turned a guy who had little value (when compared to the position he was drafted) and generated a good amount of interest and excitement for him by never showing any sign that they had doubts about him as a player... despite his off-field problems, suspension, unwillingness to participate with their off-season program and occasional lack of on-field concentration and performance. I mean they did such a good job that they even got a lot of the fan base excited about Lynch again, which is a big reason why this trade is so painful for some. Lynch likely wasn't their guy all along, but you sure as hell wouldn't want another team to know that.

With the way things ended up this isn't a terrible move, but if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture it's just another failure. Drafted the wrong guy, lost value for various reasons, left with what will potentially amount to a door prize.

Why should anyone with any self-respect reply to you when this is the type of juvenile response they are likely to get?
