A few initial thought reading DOJ IG report on Jan 6:
(1) The IG did not interview Chris Wray. The findings here completely contradict Wray's assertions that the FBI was caught by surprise as to the events of January 6 as well as his prevarications about the use of informants.
(2) Former FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich, who sat for an interview with J6 committee, also declined to participate in an interview.
(3) This report does not fully account for the informants embedded in "militia" groups or online chats before January 6. We know from Proud Boys trial several CHSes were making inflammatory comments in group chats but (very likely) did not travel to DC. The total number of informants somehow involved in Jan 6 is possibly in the hundreds.
(4) To wit: Informants tied to at least 14 FBI field offices were surveilling subjects, chatter about Jan 6
(5) And just like the deployment of National Guard, we are expected to believe that confusion, lack of preparedness, and failure to follow protocol resulted in the FBI "missing" intelligence about Jan 6 rather than the product of something far more sinister.
