Guys, there was no Pentagon screw up related to deployment of National Guard on Jan 6. The “optics” excuse was just that—an excuse to justify why guardsmen were not deployed. This was a coordinated effort between Milley, Pelosi, and DOD officials to prevent extra security that day. Are we truly supposed to believe Trump-hating subversives in the government worried about “optics” or honoring boundaries between law enforcement and the military? Mark Milley? Seriously? I was watching more J6 video this morning and again thinking that had a few thousand guardsmen been present at the Capitol—none of the mayhem would’ve happened. Which is the point. We are supposed to believe that Pelosi’s sergeant at arms AND McConnell’s sergeant at arms AND Army Sec Ryan McCarthy were basically unreachable that afternoon as calls for help poured in? Do not believe any analysis claiming this was just a chain of command failure or typical government power struggle. It was not. It was intentional and represents perhaps the most sinister aspect of January 6.

POTUS cannot unilaterally deploy the NG. Been over this dozens of times. Pay ***** attention the next time there's a natural disaster and the local authorities REQUEST that the federal government/POTUS call up the NG. Trump gave pre-authorization. Local authorities at the Capitol and DC mayor declined to make the official request. Why do you suppose that they did that?

The worst "insurrection" in world history. The guy trying to overthrow the government requested 10k troops and was ignored by subordinates. That same guy who wanted everything made safe on J6 with a large NG presence also directly asked his supporters exercising their constitutional rights to do so peacefully and patriotically. It's almost like he wanted none of what happened to happen if you actually pay attention to what he did and said.
