  1. He will fit in on the Jets, then! Must be the Jets realized TJ Graham was not the answer, either.
  2. Goodwin is the second coming of Robert Parish....and we all know how that turned out. Hammy hurt in practice. This kid can't stay healthy, and really doesn't have a career in pro football if he is that brittle. I wonder how long the management will take to realize that Goodwin is a part time player....only physically active part of the time, and not a starter. Of course, everybody in the league understands his speed. Not sure he shouldn't go the same route as TJGraham...likely next preseason. BTW, TJ on the Jets roster last night, didn't do anything.
  3. This is a very professional approach, I would do the same myself. When making this kind of assessment of a major investment, I would bring in at least two different consultants, as a difference of opionion would be informative for the new owners. (did that a couple of times in my corp career when there were a lot of Chips on the table) It always pays off to get varying views......and, this is a little bit unusual....in that the Sabres are also in the consideration when marketing issues are discussed.(like the Illich family in Detroit, Tigers and Red Wings) This board focuses on the football side of things....but the business side will get the same scrutiny, trust me on that. And, the names mentioned may not be that expertise....so stay tuned on possible various reports or multiple consultants. Finally, as much as I value the advice of good consultants.....you have to remember " A consultant tells you what time it is with your own clock" . I would list attribution as that is not my quote, but I don't know who said it......(I think that means listen to your own people also, in addition to what the consultants might advise)
  4. Golson.....has the arm and ND is much better with him in there. I have been very impressed. And, might be 2nd rnd available.....
  5. Winning the next 6 in a row might convince me....
  6. I never cheer for the Jets!
  7. suck it up and come out fighting the next week....nothing else to be done. Just don't put EJ back in there.........I'm begging you......
  8. Sorry, EJ doesn't have the arm.....I have seen enough.
  9. Dumber things have happened, especially in Cleveland
  10. Of course, you are right I think, but you are also wrong. Just the green dot jumping around in your line of vision when you are trying to kick/hold a field goal or throw a pass is the issue here....not a health one, I think. Distracts those trying to do the right play for their team.If this guy gets away this this, there will be an epidemic...especially when the Lions again hit the Ralph.
  11. He strikes me as Andre Reed like, with perhaps a little less speed. On that basis, I would say he was a great pick. ON the other hand, he also reminds me of Josh Reed, a journeyman pro, but not ever an all pro. Hope it comes out on the top side.
  12. Anybody else here remember that Palmer was a Bill in the Jauron era....but got cut a few games into his 1st year as I recall. Having a pretty good career...bills were wrong about that guy. CJ wont be traded this year....to late to change teams systems, and with him up for renewal, he can sign anywhere. No trade value whatsoever.
  13. Chandler has one where the ball was on him as he turned, he waved at it...timing off...either QB or receiver at fault....I am guessing the pressure had EJ delivering faster than practiced timing and Chandler couldn't get to the spot where the ball was early. I also remember the one where Chandler was wide open for a first down in the 4th qtr, and EJ elected to go deeper (and incomplete) to another receiver. EJ lacking the smarts to take the easy first. Guessing Chandler was a third read or something. EJ went to the double covered guy, not the open guy. Can't teach that bad thinking.......speaks to his Losman like tendencies. Unfortunately, I see EJ as in year 2 of the 5 year bust out Losman curve.
  14. I am hoping that Pegula doesn't give the current administration a Reiger esk pass on their performance and allow them to stay into next year. Need a new GM and coach......Whaley may get to stay though.....if he can put the EJ fiasco on Marrone and Nix. As for the lead comments, mostly correct. McKelvin played the best of the CB;s in Houston. Bradham was good, and Brown is actually making some plays.
  15. Last year, after Tuel threw the horrendous pick 6 against KC, he was benched immediately. So it should be with EJ and his throw to Watt. He was just tossing it to Fred....didn't comprehend a defender could be there....same mistake Tuel made a year ago. I would approve of the same treatment....put EJ on the bench tothink about things for a couple of games, and lets see if Orton can move the club. EJ can't.....we know that now. Offense is a mess, I wonder if Marrone wanted to do this, Whaley would intercede on behalf of his QB........ We are spending $5 mil for Orton, lets use him....
  16. There were a few bad calls against the bills, but many were deserved. good play could have negated the bad calls, but we didn't get much of that. I thought the crew doing the Miami game was worse.
  17. We need a QB that can get it down field....got rid of Fitz because of that, and now it appears EJ can't or won't go downfield. I am for trying Orton b4 season is over. Another fast receiver isn't going to to us any good imho.
  18. i AGREE, but in Buffalo JP Losman held on for 5 years....maybe it was a contract thing. We should not give EJ 5 years......he will get this year.....what concerns me is that this team might win more with Orton at QB.........he is a proven backup....and EJ hasn't proven anything yet.
  19. Bringing back Chan as OC is not the worst idea I have heard on this board by a long shot.
  20. Stats don't tell the story. I have been at the games.....watched him closely. He is missing receivers that are open...and frustration on the receivers part is apparent. Shruggs, hand thrown up in the air...the kind of stuff that TV doesn't pickup. I am afraid that the bills are on another JP Losman kind of curve....5 years, no development into a big time player.....another 5 years waiting for him to make it, and he won't. Wondering if Kelly Holcomb might consider coming out of retirement to save the day again......oh, might was well try Orton.
  21. Henderson has admitted that Pears is functioning as an on field coach for him if he is not sure what to do......that complicates the decision to remove Pears from the field of play......in that Richardson himself might need help. Not clear that Pears will be removed so quickly to me.
  22. Being at the game, I saw all three holding up their arms asking why they were not thrown the ball at various times...as they were obviously open. EJ isn't getting it done mentally or physically. I am not saying the receivers are turning on EJ (yet)....but, that is in the wind imho...
  23. By game 12 or so, if Bills are no longer in contention, it will be time to see if the rest of the Bills machine performs better with another QB at the helm. Of course, the total administration will be lame ducks then anyhow, so why not see what they can do with a proven commodity at QB. Now, with the big stink about getting the right backup, Marrone might be hard pressed not to try out Orton sooner if the season is going down the drain. EJ is slow in his reads, and not accurate when he throws many times. Yesterday was a diaster.....balls sailing all over the place on the medium and long throws. He is not getting picked, btw, because the throws are so bad that the defense has no chance either. the throws are not near misses......
  24. I heard McKelvin quoted in the paper....said that both he and gilmore both had off season "hip" surgery, and that neither totally has his legs under him yet.......Maybe......but.......possible they could yet get into game shape.
  25. I watched the corners the whole game. They rotated time.....Gilmore was bad, can't tackle, especially on the run. McKelvin does tackle OK....Graham rotated in id 2 d qrt, and played the rest of the game. Yes, they got beat long....the CB's weren't the whole problem.......Graham at safety when Williams went out...so, all 3 CB's on the field then.
