  1. "The strength of a good organization is a difference of opinion. When two men think alike, one is unnecessary. " WC Wrigley
  2. Marrone is right about EJ....and Orton is a whole lot better than EJ will (Likely) ever be. Marrone wouldn't still have a winning record with EJ at the helm. Of course, Marrone has made other mistakes, Hackett being the biggest......just like Chan Gailey picked the wrong DC's........of course, Marrone has done better than Gailey in picking DC's...first Petine, then Schwartz. In Chan's administration, neither of those two guys would have a cup of coffee in Buffalo. The thing is, Whaley's double down on Watkins was stated as a support EJ move.....got rid of the free route running Stevie (that was OK btw) The problem remains, EJ can't put the ball in the same zip code as the receivers, and the receivers know it. They just can't go public with that view. We have a real conflict here, and I think its possible Marrone will go, but Marrone is acutally more right than wrong......on a lot of things.
  3. Sorry, not going to see EJ or Tuel...I hope. When I pay to see the game...and I do....I want to see a pro.....at least Orton is a journeyman pro...can't say that for the other two. Remember, one of the reasons there was a QB change was an insurection in the Bills WR corp....that is EJ couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with the football. EJ has NO pro arm and is toast IMHO.
  4. Back to T Masters comment regarding an all out competition for the starting QB job next summer. Of course, there is going to be a competition, and another player or two will be added. Hopefully, a better one than Orton. EJ will get a look, but no guarantee like he did before the last camp. Marrone had big ones to bench EJ.....and it was a totally justified decision, as EJ, has not shown a pro arm yet. He gets one more camp.....and maybe another backujp season....but, IMHO, he is toast.
  5. I agree w this......he has high potential.....the 9 rating, but has delivered about a 7 this year. OK, he is a rookie...but, he isn't the guy that is going to save EJ's career.
  6. Well, I am always interested in listening to all this Orton talk....and, my view, is he is not as bad as many say, and not as good as some say. He threw 2 picks yesterday in must throw situations, as the ground game is non existent really. Not out of line with what happens in the pro game. He needs to do better for this poor offense to score......some of it is the scheme and the coaching. He gets his calls from the Helmet radio directly from Hackett. I have not noted a lot of noticable audibles.....none the less, he is the only pro QB we have.....EJ and Tuel are not up to the job. So, I support picking up another strong contender....let somebody beat out Orton. Orton is not particularily athletic....he can just throw, and read defenses. He is a journeyman, not a franchise QB ala Brees Brady etc. But, we have no others that are even journeyman.....that needs to get fixed...and, it might end up being.....another journeyman as they are what is usually available on the free agent market. BTW, did you see that Thad Lewis now backup for Fitz in Houston?
  7. NFL needs to implement electronic and audible whistles.(one device) Totally feasible w/ todays technology. Then, bs calls like the one on Pears could be reviewed. since 99% of fans can't hear the whistle...either in the stands or on TV...this would make the game more understandable. Kind of like the fake yellow lines on the field for the TV broadcast.....a visible indication of "end of play" which is what the whistle is intended to tell players.
  8. Bellichek got canned in Cleveland, and , then, walks on water in New England. No telling how Schwartz might do in Buffalo....experience is a wicked good teacher.
  9. They have always been doomed since the days of Randal Cunningham and Bobby Douglas!
  10. Actually, I don't think this is the toughest game of the year, that happens next week IMHO
  11. Well, logical argument.......but, as I recall, Bellichek failed as HC of the Browns, and now walks on water w/ the Pats. Go figure!
  12. This situation is different to some degree...but there are echo's of the Vince Young situation in Tennessee a few years back......we all know how that turned out. Jeff Fisher coaching the Rams, and doing a consistent good job, and Vince Young is out of football.
  13. Shouldn't be any question, the coach wins....but then again, Dan Snyder thinks he knows everything....no telling how he comes down. If Snyder cans Gruden, and Pegula cans Marrone, then, the possibility exists of Gruden being enlisted for the Bills. But, I think, Schwartz might get the nod in Buffalo as the internal candidate. And, I am thinking thats why Schwartz came to Buffalo in the first place.....it wasn't for the money....Lions are still paying him big time.
  14. Revis a head case, stay away....
  15. We attend games for the football. Our group has not even commented or missed the Jills. Not one conversation all year. So, we could care less about the Jills. Settle the lawsuit, and tell them babes to "get outta Dodge"
  16. We now have our own version of the Austin pick.....his name is Watkins.
  17. You are correct in that Whaley will not give up on Manuel. But, Marrone might....or even already may have. Stay tuned....
  18. YES, EJ does have a problem with pocket presence!!!!! NUF SAID!
  19. Wait a minute! I am not so sure about that.....thats why they play the games, you know!
  20. That strategy might work if they also put Payton on his back with the ball about 6-8 times....especially if they can do that early...and get him "hearing footsteps".
  21. A couple of clean hard sacks early would have Payton hearing footsteps, and might influence the outcome of the game. Bills won in Detroit (Lions) and could win again on the road. bills #2 defense statistically behind, yep, the Bronco's. BUT, the Bronco's D has the help of the Bronco's O, which is also high ranking. That is, the Bronco's D is on the field less than our D. I guess we could look at the time of possession stats to confirm that...I didn't bother. But, resuming my point, our D, then is likely a tougher D than the Bronco's, because it works in a more adverse situation. (But, then again, we had two games against the JESTs) Oh well. Go Bills!
  22. That was the hope, but Dorin D dropped the ball the first couple of times they threw it to him, and that was it in Buffalo......for him.
  23. I was at the game, watched the replays several times........Manziel pumped, did not throw, and after the pump, he pushed the ball into Williams helmet, and it was knocked free. It was a fumble. Really bad use of replay IMHO.....and a detriment to the credibility of the NFL replay system.
  24. Cold there this time of year as well...plan on indoor entertainment.
