  1. Wait a minute! I am not so sure about that.....thats why they play the games, you know!
  2. That strategy might work if they also put Payton on his back with the ball about 6-8 times....especially if they can do that early...and get him "hearing footsteps".
  3. A couple of clean hard sacks early would have Payton hearing footsteps, and might influence the outcome of the game. Bills won in Detroit (Lions) and could win again on the road. bills #2 defense statistically behind, yep, the Bronco's. BUT, the Bronco's D has the help of the Bronco's O, which is also high ranking. That is, the Bronco's D is on the field less than our D. I guess we could look at the time of possession stats to confirm that...I didn't bother. But, resuming my point, our D, then is likely a tougher D than the Bronco's, because it works in a more adverse situation. (But, then again, we had two games against the JESTs) Oh well. Go Bills!
  4. That was the hope, but Dorin D dropped the ball the first couple of times they threw it to him, and that was it in Buffalo......for him.
  5. I was at the game, watched the replays several times........Manziel pumped, did not throw, and after the pump, he pushed the ball into Williams helmet, and it was knocked free. It was a fumble. Really bad use of replay IMHO.....and a detriment to the credibility of the NFL replay system.
  6. Cold there this time of year as well...plan on indoor entertainment.
  7. Hackett doesn't know how to use the talent when he has it....seems like he is a ball control one trick pony.....not an all around o coordinator. I am thinking if Marrrone survives....Hackett should go......need a new O coordinator.....Hackett can'g get it going. Didn't know how to use CJ, and doens't really use the verticle threat game...even when he has his guys on the field. I am guessing the Bills have gone long fewer times than any other NFL team is year....somebody out there probabily knows how to do those stats, I don't.
  8. Sanchez on 1 year contract he will be on the market again on January!
  9. Well, I am wondering about the role Pepper Johnson is playing in Brown's rapid development.....I think Pepper is going to make the call regarding the need to resign Spikes. I like spikes, a veteran presence and he delivers on the field. Not as bad in coverage as his reputation btw...and a real run plugger. Going to be hard to tweek the D to a better place in 2015......its already good. We do want the DL intact, though. Resign hughs/Darieus in consequetive years.
  10. BAD CASE OF SOUR GRAPES, THIS GUY WAS HOPING TO MOVE THE BILLS TO LA. MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFETIME FELLA!!!
  11. Eli has won two Superbowls..........Payton one.....yep, he isn't Payton....
  12. Ahhhh Cable was like mentally unstable out there in Oakland.....we got nuff of that.
  13. Yes, that is true. Downtown Buffalo will also be a terrible location.....the traffic pattern will be terrible from a flow point of view. Orchard Park has roads out in four directions, downtown is limited on the water side.....as a season ticket holder, I can tell you I will not be a season ticketholder downtown. Of course, the current snow situation does point out the desireability of a dome. If I were investing my own money in a stadium, I would make it a 12 month facility. Retractable would be nice, but not madatory...that needs thought. As far as preparing for a major snow like this, if its in the design parameters the engineers start with, the roof can be made to withstand the snow...you just have to pay for it. Finally, I have to say this, if such a facility were built with my money (say I was T Pegula and could do that), then, I , for sure ,wouldn't be listening to all this grief about putting all the games on TV...there would be no taxpayer money involved.
  14. You will know the game is in danger of being moved when the price goes to $20/hour......
  15. I read it....but I am a season ticket holder and have seen Manuel play a lot. Manuel does not have pro accuracy.. Can't throw the deep ball at all, and he "lost" his receivers during the 2014 season/first four games. The gestures after he missed them told it all. Marrone took the heat for the decision, but Manuel lost the receiver core....and they were excited to have Orton be the starter. Further, it was not necessary to have a limited playbook so Manuel could succeed...Orton the veteran could absorb the whole thing after 4 weeks with the team. I would further comment that if Orton had been with the Bills in training camp, he would have been the starter out of camp. Remember, the plan was for Kolb to play the first year...and let EJ learn by sitting...ala Aaron Rogers at Green Bay (3 seasons) I honestly think, if EJ is ever to succeed, he needs to sit awhile and get mentally ready. I remain skeptical he has the arm.....however, and, if I were making the choice, I would give him only one more season to show himself. After that......adious if he isn't clearly an NFL QB....and it sure isn't obvious now.
  16. Down here in Ft Myers Fl, had to move my return flight to Buffalo from Weds to Friday...good judgement etc....making that call. Of course, Sammy is from Ft Myers, and you know his TWEETS/videos on his first snow are being played on all the local news broadcasts down here.
  17. The Bills will be hiring multitudes to shovel out the stadium come Friday......$8/hr and lots of fresh air......and, with the way tickets are selling, maybe they will give all the shovelers tickets for the Jets game as well.
  18. You want Bleacher, just sign up for their daily e-mails on whatever you choose to follow. I get Bills, and Syracuse basketball.
  19. Belicheck was a diaster in Cleveland, and a mad/bad genius in NE......not sure Schwartz wouldn't make the same transition. I say give it a try if Marrone is out. Getting a good O Coordinator is real important.........Chan Gailey is available to unretire!!LOL Where is Bobby april these days?
  20. Actually, not all incompletions are misses/bad throws. some are throwing balls away.....usually on shorter passes its easier to detect...on long passes it just looks like a miss. I don't know how to account for that in your analysis. Anyhow, I certainly saw some of those, and you did not mention those in the stats, therefore I intrepret you counted those as missed throw. the were missed, but on purpose.....that said, it was certainly not Orton's best game. So, I don't object to the overall conclusion. But, we know he is not Andrew Luck or tom Brady.....its just that he is so much better than EJ he is who the Bilss should play now.
  21. The problem with quoting these stats is that he was totally coddled by Hackett, and ran an offense designed to make a green QB survive while undergoinlg OJT. Put him in the o that Orton is running...that is the full menu, and Manuel would have a rating half of what he has realized to date.
  22. I like Cutlers talent, and he can be a superbowl QB. I don't think the current Bills staff has the moxy to manage him, though. (recalling the Josh McDaniel fiasco in Denver)
  23. EJ, no way. Give him another training camp.....and, we know, he does not enjoy the support of the veterans on the squad, especially in the receiving core who know how bad his arm is. As for Orton, he is better than his current detractors say, and not as good as his major advocates say. But, he is better than EJ by a lot. The Bills at 5-5 are not out of it, just really a long shot. If EJ comes in and looks terrible again, he would be done in Buffalo....not sure its time for thay yet....he will get season three says me. After that, adious if he isn't cutting it big time....no 5 year audition like Losman got. As for Gragg mentioned in other threads....I am a total non believer....drops way to many balls...not in any way the receiver that Chandler is.....and, way to small to block effectively.....Chandler is only half effective, Gragg no blocking skill. Gragg is really almost an H back....who has questionable hands.
  24. Unlikely Schwartz stays unless he is the new HC. I think he has a lot of money still coming from the Lions, and what the Bills pay is just deducted from that......I think it works that way. Schwartz is coaching here to stay in the hunt for another HC job......he nets nothing in terms of money........for another year yet I think as well. Perhaps somebody on this board knows the exact terms, I do not. I agree Whaley is talented, but he needs a grey head to help get the right answers on the draft......Watkins is a stud, but, so is Kelvin Benjamin...picked at #27 or something like that. And other first round receivers doing really well also. Not sure the Watkins trade was true value.......especially when another QB is apparently necessary. I don't see a long term keeper at QB on the roster right now.
  25. Unfortunately, Harbaugh is just a more talented verson of Greg Williams......thinks he is still in college. I really don't want to see him with the Bills......
