Byrd is slow and trouble....malingering

I got out this year after decades as a season guy. Out of town for November was a big factor......and, after all this time, I am discouraged beyond belief about the prospects of another winning team. I have seen the new management theme before...and every two or three years its gets trotted out again. I view it as marketing......I will still follow the team......but, I am not optimistic...have seen failure to many times. The product isn't what it used to be.....my seasons go all the way back to the Rockpile days when I could only afford the endzone........I will miss the tailgate with my buds.....(.they kept the seats).....and I wish them and all those attending well. (Section 112, Row 34..perfect)

I have seen enough of J Byrd. He laid down on the job in his contract year for the Bills, I don't want to see his low life character here again in Buffalo. I paid my season ticket that year, and he collected his check and didn't play.

Some things can't be calculated wrt benefits to an area that has an NFL franchise. Prestige on a national basis for one. Intangibles or, in accounting terms, "good will" are not comprehended in these studies. A public private partnership will have difficulty, however, because objective may not be the same...thus making a bad partnership. Public fund advocates will try to force a new stadium downtown.....about the worst possible choice from a fan point of view. The lack of roads in and out, and parking...as well as the loss of the tailgate culture might well result in a bath of red ink for the owners. A suburban location with 360 degrees of roads in and out is what is required, and I doubt the Erie County officials will support that choice. Bottom line, I don't think a new stadium is in the works for Buffalo in my lifetime.

A suspension gets the Bills off the hook for part of that money if he goes out for 10 games, and a whole season of money if he fails the next time. This might be the only soft landing for the Bills, unless Big Puff knuckles down and plays lights out football.

Its hard to believe that scouts are totally "plug and play" I think the lack of a group of scouts that have worked with the management will dog the Bills for several years. Fielding a capable team of scouts is also critical, as they set the table for the draft....and, I can hear the words now...." not bad for our first draft"///////ugh, been there done that.....heard that line before.

Watching him last year when he finally got on the field, he looked a little slow out there. To early to tell, but I am concerned about his status as a first round talent. I hope he does well, but, not spending that nickle tight now.

I watched a lot of the Gruden series on ESPN...saw the sections on both Mahomes and Peterman. Gruden liked both............said that he and Andy Reid were on the staff at GB when they had a young Farve, and that Mahomes reminded him a LOT of the young Farve. Reid either saw the show, or, made that judgement for himself....likely both....and moved up to get Mahomes. That said, Gruden had a lot of good things to say about Peterman....including his double degree situation...graduated from Tenn with Batchelors and got his MBA while playing for Pitt.....LOTS of smarts in this kids head.....where Losman and Manuel were both short. So, I am thinking...on a value basis, the Bills risk taking Peterman in the 5th is a lot better than the Chiefs value..as they gave up 2 #'1 for Mahomes. In the end, this might be a win win for both teams. Not unhappy with the trade at all. Not sure I agree with all the nay sayers about TT...McD and partner will decide based on TT's performance this and next year.

Although we as individuals are staggered by the $35 million or whatever amount the Pegs are paying folks not to work, I can assure you those in the Billionaire league take these hits in stride. They are trying to get it right for their business....and will do what it takes. I think the slow method they approached with the Sabres initially has made them more activist now.......they are learning as owners "on the job"

Shady worth the money if he gets 1200-1500 yards and 10 td's for the team....which he is fully capable of doing if healthy. Now, he is getting long in the tooth as they say, but, he can do it until he can't. When he gets going, he is incredible. and is a true home run threat when on the field. (just like Sammy is on better days) As long as he performs at an all pro level, he will stay. McD knows that talent doesn't come along often. As for TD Mike, a real loss to the Bills, and he will do fine w the Pats. Good on him, maximizing his income during his prime years. Regrets for the Bills and their fans, but not for MIke.

I can't get the picture out of my mind of that game in London when EJ completed his pass to Gragg....BUT Gragg was standing 5 yards out of bounds waiving for the ball. After he realized what had happened, Gragg laughed his butt off. (so did EJ) I did not find it as amusing..just more of the lame effort we saw from him. Glad to have him gone........

Actually, EJ is employed and the others are not because he was willing to sign for chump change (800K) with no guarantee....the others are all asking multimillion dollar contracts, especially Kap.

Bills system is digital, but requires a card to get into the stadium. Not everybody has a cell phone (really), so can't go that route exclusively. We have had tickets for many decades, and the switch to a card was a little bit of a problem as some of our participants were not digitally literate...so we had to print out tickets in some cases for them. I know of one other crew that had to print out the whole season to split the tickets......as they had to many members to effectively move the cards around..especially when the receiving party was in another city. So, all digital is a vision, but far from a reality. In terms of attendance mandate to continue to buy....that is a team decision. Our group often sold tickets, perhaps 1/3 of seats when it was at its peak...usually because folks were out of town or unable to attend for other reasons. I don't think that behavior is out of line....however, the resale market is crazy and I have been stunned to see all the tickets on the NFL ticket exchange for some games. And, of course, with the Bills, the games at the end of the season the last couple of decades have been low to zero demand because of team out of race....and we had to eat a number of seats in those cases. Anyhow, Bronco's are within their rights, and sounds llike they sheding professional scalpers .

Byrd laid down on the job his last season with the Bills....did not play for the money he was paid. Bad Attitude...don't want him back here...I would be forced to booo him during the games. Maybe bad advice from an agent, but, with him being slow to start, don't need to see him here.

If I owned a multi billion dollar business, I would not allow my employees to do anything that violated federal law. It is that simple folks.

this is a good comment. I think TT is the favorite to start.....and Peterman the favorite to backup. CJ needs to grow up and may be #3 or ps. And, TJ is insurance against an injury or a flame out byh one candidate. I will say this, I watched the Pitt Clemson game last fall, and Peterman can throw the rock adequately imho. He ate Clemson up through the air with the long pass.

Yeh, both Ft Myers Fl guys.....I spend the winter down there, and the local media covers both guys regularly. They know each other for sure......
