  1. Cutting TT doesn't mean he won't get a look at resigning for less money. Of course, he would get to shop himself around. The #21 pick Qb will be the guy from OSU.....he can't start and neither can Peterman. Now, Daboll will have a big say in whether their is a desire to keep TT around. If they want more run/pass.option...TT is capable of that game...more so than many..including Mason Rudoph or Nate Peterman. Of course, if you draft the man from Louisville.....he is that run/pass type (Lamar Jackson) Daboll will have a voice here. And, it doesn't matter who the QB is if we don't get some wr's that can separate. Benjiman is a speciman, but not a separation type. ZJ is also a moves man, and the jury is out on him imho. Only Thompson has speed and separation ability. Don't know if Streeter has that speed...Holmes is a poor mans Benjamin. Bills may be going backward before they go forward imho. They need to reload bigtime in a lot of areas.
  2. I wish Manziel well, but don't wish him on any football team.....yes, he could get another NFL shot if he did well in Canada over a few years....but, the Canadian game suits him better......like Flutie actually. I saw him throw his first TD pass in the NFL against the Bills......he didn't look out of place that day anyhow. (he came on in relief)
  3. Yes, I saw OJ, and he was better than any other imho. He had speed, cutback ability and power. But, he needed a good line, as do any rb's on the list. OJ had a few mediocre years before the all world season you quote.
  4. Rosen has a better arm than Darnold...based on what I saw of them this year..... Darnold is more athletic. but.Rosen has a football head say the coaches. Lots of QB's fail because they lack the head. (see Manuel, Losman,, Sanchez) In any event, I don't favor trading two one's plus more to move up.......to many holes on the Bills, despite a 9-7 year and making the playoffs. Keeping TT and groom the guy from OSU works for me. And, I haven't given up on Peterman.......even though he showed slow reactions in his first year. (the LA game against the Chargers was a terrible place to start a career.) ACL is 18 months nominal, so you may well be correct.
  5. Where is Drew Brees?
  6. With Malloy being a Bill
  7. One advantage of Kizer.....has has had one full season with the Browns to throw lots of interceptions, whereas Peterman has had only about 1 game of experience (two half games) to also throw an excessive number of interceptions. If there is a learning curve, Kizer must be further down the curve......
  8. If Josh Allen is there a #21, by all means take that shot....he is not polished....but, has the huge upside. No guts, not glory.
  9. TT has taken up the mantle of leadership.....and with E Wood gone, the leadership vacuum needs to be recognized...especially if K Williams hangs up his football gear. Having TT stay might have off field benefits. TT IS a high character journeyman QB. Now, the $18 mil thing is a problem...and, if I were him, would not take a cut....he can do well in the open market. But, the draft won't produce an immediate starter....(ok D Watson turned out to be that, but Mahones sat for a year. And yes Trubinski did start this year as well) Anyhow, the decision will come down to money imho. If TT can do equally well in Buffalo, he will stay. If they try to give him a below market cut/offer, he will walk. His agent will tell him what he needs to do in his own best interest. I thinking it will take $20 mil at least over two years guaranteed to keep him.
  10. No trading up....the Bills have way to many holes to fill. Yes, draft a QB....but, top draft status is not a guarantee of success in the NFL. Lots of later choices fit the franchise label. but, draft one every year unitl you hit. Could have had Mahones.....Chiefs decided to it instead of Bills....ok, that bet is set. Gruden, of course, said that Mahones was the next Brett Farve.
  11. Mike got two years for 6 million. He will be a Pat again next year.
  12. I would speculate that McD is surrounding himself with folks he is comfortable with....not uncommon in management, not just football. The guy has creds and if McD was "uncomfortable" with Byrd, this could be a good move for staff chemistry.
  13. Were I Mayfield, I would not play the Senior bowl.....ala McCaffrey a year ago. to much risk.....I have to admit though, the agent is smart...the interviews etc are important, and the practices are also tryouts. But, the game is paying the bills......so, I would not have attended.
  14. Pats fans were lucky the Jags didn't run at Gilmore.....a different answer results imho.
  15. The Bills are serving as a farm team for the best teams in the league.
  16. I am thinking the new OC will have a view on this issue after coaching this guy for a year.
  17. He may not be worth a third more than the rest of the best backs in the league, but he is worth as much as the best backs in the league........
  18. Watching the Pats is boring...more of the same. I won't watch football again except for non Pats games. How many times do I want to see the Pats again.....only if the bills play them. I recall the Bills experienced the same national reaction the fourth time in a row they went to the Super Bowl.
  19. Watching reruns of Victoria on PBS. Pats in the playoffs to much...borrring........
  20. EJ in London and Nathan Peterman in LA are neck and neck for the worst half of football any bills qb ever played. I dither on making a choice.
  21. I thought he did a creditible job...VP that is. Clements was here two years 04-05 says Wikipedia, 13 years ago.
  22. Yes, he was OC here....maybe QB coach and he was fired. I don't know when...but surprised his name resurfaces here....he wan't good goods that last time he was here. Now, people do learn and improve at their jobs......but, I would not go that route. And, I am surprised that not many on this board remember this...might have been 25 years ago. And, we also know that Alex Van Pelt was here as both a player and a coach....but I don't feel that way about him....would take a serious look at him.
  23. Nice to have a qb who is varied in his skills to adapt to any coordinators specific scheme. But, how about hiring somebody who can take existing skills and put together a good offensive scheme. If you have lemons, make lemonaide so to speak. I worked in the corporate world for some years, and had to manage many different teams as I moved up the line. any success I had was because I had the folks working for me play to their strengths......round pegs in round holes....etc etc. Dennison didn't do that much this year with TT. If the Bills let TT go, then, they will have to sign a vet plus whoever they draft....unless, of course, they sign Cousins or other top shelf vet. Were I TT, I might want to get out of town here anyway.......get a shot with somebody who thinks well of me. Hence, I am predicting he will be let go after refusing to take a cut in pay next year. Denver or Arizona are calling I am guessing.
  24. Hope the Bills win, but, playing hard and well, and loosing....well....naw...don't want that. WANT another crack at the Pats!!!!
  25. I want the Bills to win on Sunday, but, if they do they have to go to NE the next weekend. Strange calculus here, but, I would rather take a chance on doing without Shady this Sunday so that when we get to beantown he will be 100%. The Bills are underdogs Sunday, but they can win. Others have to step up...maybe the D has to do some extraordinary things...whatever. I don't want to see a limping Shady out there!!!
