Aaron Rogers sat for 2 years.......(of course, that was behind Farve) Still, a season watching and learning would help him a lot...in fact he would learn a lot with just a half a season sitting. That, in fact, is my prediction.....we will see Allen Nov 25 against the Jags, not before. HE will finish the season, then, if healthy. 6 game training program when the season is (essentially) over.

I saw an anti Josh Allen piece on one of the ESPN talk shows the other day as well. About a bad throw in training camp.......I was POed. the showed a clip, and it looked like he threw a side arm that hit a defender. NO context, and just a quick hit item .. It will be fashionable to label Buffalo's #1 as a bust......popular in other media centers and who cares how it plays in WNY.

I am thinking you are an optimist. this team is hard to handicap...with the QB uncertainty leading the pack. but, new OC, everybody starts from zero on knowing the play book. I am speculating that things won't go well for the O at first, but the D will be fine. But, I have trouble seeing 3 wins in the front half.........

I am old enough to have attended many Bills games at the old rockpile....and I saw Jack Kemp, Elbert Dubenion.....and all the greats of that era. I saw the snowstorm game with Cincinatti that Booker Edgerson won with a late pick.....and I was amazed that back home, I could see the play on TV better than when there in person. Turns out TV filters the snow out electronically.....oh well....still a fan.

The Net worth of the Pegula's is very hard to value. He (and his partners) own thousands of acres of gas rights in the USA. He developed(drilled wells) and sold (to Shell) a small portion of that acreage for about the same price he paid for the Bills. Depending on the price of gas going forward, he could be worth many times what is being reported here. Only time will tell....but, needless to say, he is still a "fracker" if the price of gas if right to justity the investment. (and, right now, its not I think)

Lots of stinkers being mentioned here. Mine comes from the 80's....the players were out on strike...and, they settled and brought everybody back in a hurry. Miami was in town...and both squads played with about two practices under their belts. Game was terrible....Kelly was QB....neither team could execute...they weren't in shape and didn't know the play book. Worst display of lack of professionalism I ever saw. Both teams were BAD! I felt cheated after the game, and it looked like a pickup game. I don't remember the date....I bet Kelly would remember the game though. The greed of owners and players showed through that day.

Ivory at his best was very good....a battering ram kind of back. If he has any of that left, he is a good #2. If the tank is empty, its a waste. Journeyman for sure....but was more back in the day.

I think a low end w/l record is likely. When Joe Buscaglia rated Zay Jones our #14 talent, I knew it would be a long season. I saw him play last year..........

Helping here, I never believe a word of the hype for the new draft class. Media looking to put positive spin...help sell tickets etc. Show me on the field, then, and only then, will I believe.

Watched Polian yesterday on ESPN....he said after hearing this report....that "YES, ROSEN WAS THE MOST PRO READY OF THE DRAFT CLASS THIS YEAR, BUT, HE IS NOT READY"! The chick announcers got a big laugh about that.....but the other guy0 (I forget) looked like he agreed w Polian.

Well, I think the Bills want to see what comes out of 2018....see if AJ McCarron has the right stuff......give Josh Allen some games for development. Did you notice all the vets that were dumped? that is not a win now approach. Billls won't be terrible, but not likely to contend imho. A step back year, not a tank year, but a step back.....5-11 kind of year.....and Cutler has no place in that scenrio.

Having crossed paths with Mr Tepper during my professional career, my opinion is that he is a not a man of high character. LOTS of money, but lacks character. Still, that won't disqualify him from owning the Panthers, as he is not convicted or accused in the newspapers. (that will come later)

Rosen would have been fine....I am leary of the Allen pick.....I think Beane etc saw Allen in the Cam Newton mode ...that is big, tall gun of an arm. I am worried about the lack of accuracy reported in the media and statistically ........another EJ Manuel we don't need. EJ had plenty of arm strength, he just could not hit the receivers downfield.(and, of course, the lack of field presence) If that is what we got, we will be regretting this pick for a decade. JP was another problem...he had an arm, but not a head for the game.....oh well , another swing at the plate...hoping for the best for the Bills.

This comment is spot on......that calculus is important. #32 is better than #33 by more than one draft position because of that effect. Good topic to discuss imho.

We had row 34 seats in the lower bowl many years....and have done one time seats as low as row5. I would not go below row 20 as thee lower you go, the harder it is to gauge the depth of the play. A little elevation helps follow the play imho.

Keeping the picks is the best idea. A 1 in 3 shot in the top 5 for a franchise qb is not the kind of odds I bet. Admittedly, a lower pick might be 1 in5, but, got to wieght having some newer rookie starters. Two or three more like Tre White works for me.
