  1. Last time I was there a decade ago, it was M&T stadium I think. Still that name? We stayed at a motel outside Balt, took a train in and got off right at the stadium. Not like Buffalo stadium experience though, not tailgating. But, more like a PGA golf even.....lots of corporate tents etc. Being use to the Ralph/New Era atmosphere, I wasn't expecting PGA/NFL hybrid experience. Anyhow, the Bills lost, and we sat near some of the Bills players families in the upper deck. Seats were not as good as NEW ERA uppers imho.
  2. Most other cities are HOPEING Allen is bottom 100. The fear the (real) possiblity he might be the real deal franchaise QB when he gets the rough edges smoothed out a little! As for other Bills not in top 100,,,small market equals no national exposure and no incentive for those national media types to say or even see small market types. (that was one of Gilmore's complaints btw)
  3. Some unknown Calculus was going on in Carolina as well. Gettleman got canned........just after Bean and McD left.....I don't know, just trying to read between the lines.....
  4. I think McBean are trying to replicate what succeeded in Carolina....even picking Allen who is sort of a Cam Newton like QB...big physical, can run...and Cam hasn't been a polished passer either 6 or 7 years in. None the less, the two seem organized, and recall, Bean did not show up until almost a year later, so McD was on his own with Whaley hanging on until a new guy was brought in...which was inevitable.
  5. Richie can play alright, but, is to erratic to justify a roster spot. Buffalo was fortunate....I think Eric Wood kept Richie on an even keel when Richie was here....and he lacks that kind of help now. Too bad, there are some people you can't help. (and the Pegs certainly tried to help richie)
  6. Josh Allen will lead the Bills to some success. His will to succeed and his physcial gift will see to that. However, if he isn't protected better than last year, and takes a few big hits, his confidence might wane.....(thinking of Trent Edwards who was never the same after taking a big hit in Arizona)
  7. Bosas' attitude on this stuff was sufficiently bad that I thought any team selecting him was a fool. Lots of other talents around.
  8. I have had a couple of encounters. Got to know Charlie Fergeson as we worked for the same employer for a couple of decades and ran into each other at the golf dome after that. Good guy for sure. My other encounter was unusual.....I used to fly to Detroit on business regularily....this was late 70's I think, and we flew American Airlines direct in those days. One day I got on behind a guy also on his way to Detroit on a business trip.....it was Chuck Knox...heading out meet w Ralph Wilson. I think some of his staff were there also, but I didn't meet them. Anyhow, Chuck was intense and clearly in charge of the group. He was Head Coach for 5 years, but never got us to the playoffs I recall so he was ultimately fired. He was the one who used to call out of town games "business trips"....and he was all business from what I saw that day.
  9. Gore may not even make the team imho.
  10. The players union (the employed) can only go so far in demanding compensation. The Pegs paid 1.2 Billion, and it buys a LOT of juice in deciding the outcome of what the league does.....more the the players union imho. Pro labor views can only speculate on unlimited leverage. Owners own the football, the coaches, the stadium leasing and a lot of other stuff. Try starting a new league if you really believe all those independent thoughts.
  11. I was there....a great moment in my life......I had four tickets, but only had my wife and aunt with me....an empty seat . Won't ever forget it. Haven't rewatched it however....hope to do that someday.
  12. Zay is in his third year......and, if he has a good year......never mind. You can never have to much speed, and robert has that to burn.
  13. I am not sure that the term "same" will apply to the offensive system...with new horses up front almost across the board, and other new talent as well. Yes, the coordinator is the same and he will use the same terms, but I am expecting this O will look different with some sort of running game. I also expect Allen will be more mature and do a better job with his second year with the coordinator . I was just in Vegas and took the three points and the Bills btw.
  14. Allen's results so far on shorter throws has not been great. But, he knows how to chuck the rock, and, he will learn to do all the throws, and soon imho.
  15. The special teams comment is overly optimistic.........
  16. Alabama or MIchigan? Just wondering......
  17. The D will handle that...not to worry. The O is reinventing itself with new guys (mostly) and your concern is correct here. And, special teams....well, we will see if the new coach can really do the job....the jury is out on him.
  18. Smart money would not bet against the Pats.
  19. Naw......and no need to worry. McD knows who this guy is......
  20. Smith is giving good advice...he doesn't know how it will play out, but, his members should be prepared. Competent communication from a union head imho. My views personally run on the management side of this argument, as the product has been diluted somewhat by the CBA....as teams are not as ready as they used to be with the practice restrictions. If there is a stike, I will not attend games that year, or the year after. Same thing I did after the strike in the Kelly era. (I bought a St Bernard with the ticket money I saved) And, the first few games "back" after the strike were a horror...with the teams clearly not ready to play....but, the show must go on so the players and TV can be paid/ management also. The fan is cheated however, not only on lost games, but on shoddy product that comes after the strike. Now, if they take a month to get ready after settling, maybe decent play could be expected. Anyhow, whatever happens, my plans are in place.
  21. Milano's coverage skills are unlikely to be matched. Milano is a converted safety, and knows how to cover. I look for him to get a few more picks next year, as he was on that track last year before the injury. He is not the superstud that his running mate is(Edmunds)......but, he will do adequately on the physical tools side.
  22. At this point,, I would not bet against Allen and Daboll.
  23. With Kroft out, they are going to be glad to have him.
  24. The form sheet says he will, once again, screw it up.
  25. I have a favorite Lee Smith memory from his first tour here. (I think this was Lee) Lee is inactive (maybe hurt, I don't recall) He is in shorts on the sideline during the game, and a Bills offensive guy breaks one down the Bills sideline.....Lee is running with him.....along the sideline. He runs into an official standing out of bounds, and the Bills get flagged for "official interference"...something I had never heard of before or after. Anyhow, I think that was LEE!!! Not even active and he drew a bench penality for the Bills
