  1. Knox is s till an unreliable receiver. Croom could come back and take the job away imho.
  2. I recall the incompetence of Rick Dennison, and the conservatism and complexity of Roman, and realize Daboll has done a decent job here. Not outstanding, but a B grade. We could end up with a C level coach again, as it is apparently hard to get folks to come to Buffalo as either player or coach. Now, Roman is rumored to also be in the running for the Browns job. I am thinking he is the frontrunner, but won't interview for a couple of weeks at least. Browns have had some bad head coaches, and some good ones...they all got fired (Pettine was a good one who got the ax)....and working for Haslem would give me pause personally. The Browns are today what the Bills were in the Harvey Johnson days of the 80's. (unstable, but have some players)
  3. The lateral was Flutie like. Knox is a rookie and wasn't expecting it, but did knock it OB in a heads of play . Those two will do some great things together yet. I like Allen, and he will be better again next year. So will Knox.....Knox needs to fix the hands thing which is irrratic based on his many drops and incredible catches mixed together. Still, I expect Croom to challenge next year to be the receiving TE.
  4. This team got blown out once (Eagles)....played but lost to the big boys (Pats and Ravens) As far as the playoffs go, all these teams wish they didn't have to meet Josh Allen and the Bills D. I am in the camp that anything can happen, its playoff time. So, I won't count the Bills out.
  5. Yes, this is correct. However, being the hardcore Bills fan I am, when I was in Vegas in June I put forty buck on the Bills to win the AFC..at 40:1. So, three wins puts me in the green.... I have skin in the game yet!
  6. Ahhhh Knox catches some big ones, and drops a lot of others. What are the stats on his drops? I don't know, but, I don't consider him to have good hands after watching all season. We still need a receiving TE....maybe Croom can come back next year and be that guy. Edmunds still doesn't look like a MLB to me after two years. This has to be a worry for Bean and McD......Edmunds is not a run plugger. He is a rangy fast large person, but, not good at the run when directed at him. Hence the Bills vunerability to the up the gut run this year.
  7. Would like to see Duke Williams get some time.....still a big target, something we don't have any of right now. (yeh, Knox, but he has mostly stone hands, has to leading the team in drops)
  8. Against the Pats, Allen went long to Foster once in the end zone....but, Foster was double covered. He is known to the rest of the NFL as a guy with great wheels.
  9. vinilla offense and defense calls for sure. Treat that stuff as preseason. I do like to hear the NY media cry however, so, winning has its benefits. Of course, there is the matter of fans who paid for tickets expecting to see the real Bills........
  10. Zebras were homers on a few calls. The spot on the run in Q2 was bad....face mask call not made on Josh QB sneak was bad as Collins turned Josh's head 90degrees before he let go. I wonder, do the officials watch the QB on a QB sneak. Apparently not.
  11. give Barkley a half also every other back bencher.
  12. Time of possession was almost 2:1 Pats....not winning football stats.
  13. TO was in Buffalo one year. In other venues had was a little bit of a prima dona......but his year in Buffalo he was absolutely a pro. My opinion of him went up 1000% because of that year here.
  14. I would like to see Yeldon active at some point and use his superior receiving skills..he is not great as a runner, but can still pose that threat. By using Yeldon in that role, parts of the playbook not seen to date can be effective if only for a few series. Mix it up in a game you really want. Bills are a long shot for the East title, and the first playoff game may be that situation.
  15. You could do a trial on U Tube TV as well. I watched Sunday night on a U tube trial while out of state. (no cable TV in the house I was visiting)
  16. I don't know if Gilmore couldn't tackle, he just did not want to tackle.....avoided contact. were I preparing a game plan against the Pats......I would study film to see if Gilmore still has those tendencies. If so, I would run his way and try to isolate the ball carrier on him. Unfortunately we don't have a stud runner to run over somebody except for our QB, so that will be avoided, at least by design. Maybe we could get Knox the ball where Gilmore has to tackle him...let Knox take a crack at running gilmore over.....
  17. Yes, our 50/50 ball receiver is inactive every week, since he caught the winning TD against the Titans. Duke is a change of pace from the other receivers, and they are not using him. Going for the speed guys, which is right in the general case, but there are times when a big receiver works. I am sorry they are not varying their game in that dimension.
  18. This team has heart, but, weaknesses. Our O is still fledgling....and the ST is subject to breakdowns. Got outcoached in Miami (by Crossman no less) Could happen again. Close game imho...pickem....
  19. I am not quite yet sold. He is a a little short on the run plugger side.......he can run them down sideline to sideline, but straight at him, and he doesn't get there like a Spielman would. So, I am still waiting until he can play that role like a MLB should be able.......
  20. Daboll and Fraser stay. Dorsey, who knows, but I am guessing yes as well. the special teams guy has not worked out imho. Lets try Tasker......in that role.
  21. My experience is that Bills fans are mostly nice to visitors with visiting jerseys etc, and I was a season ticket guy for 30 years. (drunks excepted, but they hate everybody) However, a family member wore his Bills jersey to a game in Pittsburg a while back, and, it wasn't pretty. He had to leave the game because of the abuse from the Pitts fans. I predict things will not be entirely rosy next Sunday night.......
  22. I still have hopes Croom will return and win a job next year....he is the receiving TE we don't have this year.
  23. Yes, more than a few drops...at one point there were 3 or 4 in short order. Not winning play. Yes, Allen had a subpar stat game...but, he got stepped on, wrapped the ankle and was back out there....he was running for his life.....Ravens blitzed a lot, and Josh/Bills didn't handle it well imho. All those sacks were only partially Allen's fault. Lots of cases of guys coming in unabated as they say. Did I hope for more, yes. He will do better in the future.....this was a great learning opportunity for a young QB. As for the long throws...he was ok on them year one. This year is a problem. My view is it is a mechanics issue and will get resolved in time. It also think he is unloading long to fast....the rule is "as fast as possible, but no faster"....he is just firing without stepping into the throw and putting a normal motion on the throws. Better days ahead.
