  1. Yes, 50's kids game was hitching cars. Catch a rear bumper on a car....and squat down and enjoy the ride behind the car sledding on your boots....hoping you didn't get killed. I confess to having tried it, and quit, after deciding living was move important.
  2. Yes, but High School was a long time ago, and they were two classes apart.......I am thinking that tie isn't as big as many think. But, yes, they have known each other a long time.
  3. These three guys will all get around 20-25% of the teams cap going forward. What that number might be remains to be seen. that uncertainty has to be bothering both sides when considering that issue. NFL revenue is not guaranteed, not clear why players think their income should also, then, be guaranteed. Giving a QB a "piece of the action" instead of a fixed dollar figure makes sense to me.....
  4. A good discussion, I don't know how this plays out. But, if he gets any offer, the money will make him go. 2 or 3x his current compensation......and a guarantee of some years....and, I don't think he will strike out on all the interviews. I don't think all this should be allowed when teams are still in the playoffs. When this process goes on, the interviewee is no longer in his job...and focus is lost. Bad image for the NFL imho.
  5. Enjoy the game. Interesting read here. Anatomy of a Divisional Round win: What the Bills need to do to stop the Ravens offense (yahoo.com) Anatomy of a Divisional Round win: What the Bills need to do to stop the Ravens offense (yahoo.com) I don't know, would not paste as a link.......
  6. I recall he was called the "doughboy" when he was here....refering to his appearance of slightly overweight ( a Pillsbury Doughboy was an advertising thing at the time.) Is Mulakey still around? Also the line coach from Lockport is still in the league...his name escapes me.....
  7. Yes, good assistants make $2-3 million per year. Head coaches make 2-3x that per year. He will have to go if offered a HC job. Urban Meyers is reported to be getting $12 mil/year to take the Jacksonville job. That would be 4x for Daboll. Just sayin........
  8. Sorry, no time for learning under fire here. Needed to happen earlier in the year. He sits on the practice squad
  9. Allen keeps working over the off season like he has, he will progress even further. Yes, he is performing with the elite now, but, he c an get even better. What excites me is that I think he realizes that.....
  10. He's an old man now by football standards.......
  11. Good to ride the horses that brought you this far.
  12. They would need to win 4 in a row. Possible, but, not probabile. I would hate it though, if they won 3 and lost in the SB again....as I lived through the four losses in the 90's. How bad was it.....I have a story.....I was on a business trip in Poland about two weeks after the 4th loss, I think, and was staying in a fleabag motel in central Poland. I turned on the TV (B&W w 6 inch screen) and the only channel they had was a replay of the Bills loosing the SB....so, I had to turn it off.
  13. To beat the Bills....RUN the ball and keep Allen/Diggs off the field. Just like the Chiefs did when they beat the Bills this season. Not a secret..its on tape.
  14. At age 69, it might be time to smell the roses a little. On the other hand, Chan was always an offensive master when here, and was failed time and again by his DC selections. If Daboll leaves, I would not object to seeing Gailey back in Buffalo for another turn. But, would want his commitment for 3 years, no one and done here again for OC. But, Mc D will do it his way...and Bean may also have a voice but not a final say in McD's staff. A lot depends on how they view the capabilities of the in house candidates. Chan would be the hired gun. Fitz won't be coming here as the reduced cap is going to make him way to expensive as a backup. Would not even surprise me, as an economy move, we end up with Webb and Fromm as the backups this next year.
  15. For 10 mil a season.
  16. I have been to that airport that early. It had to be single car....as there are no other cars around.
  17. Dorsey comes with some good experience. But, none as an OC. Daboll, on the other hand, had that job a few other places. (Alabama, Miami, and maybe one other) before coming here.) Also, 9 years on Belicheck's staff...but never got promoted there. I still wonder about that with the great job Dabs has done here. Of course, he has the horses, as they say, this year. The superior Josh, Diggs, Brown, Beasley.......better line. (OK, no TE really, just pretenders) Not sure Dorsey can do the schemimg needed to put together a game plan....that is taking opponent tape input used to put together the game plan every week. THAT is what the OC does. Still, I think continuity arguments and his connection to McD will result in him getting the job. Of course, its a tough situation coming in after Daboll....as he has a GREAT record this year of being a clairvoyant OC, tough act to follow.
  18. Probabily, especially because Dorsey is a McD guy.
  19. He replaced Roman, and things got better immediately as I recall. Maybe that was because Rex didn't meddle in the offense.
  20. Patricia makes a lot of sense, as they know each other well from pats days. Depends if Patricia wants to work again so soon...as he is likely collecting a couple of more years of pay from the Lions for not working. He would be working for nothing......but most of these coaches would rather be at work.
  21. Buffalo's small market status makes other markets more important for advertisers. Its a money game folks....they want good ratings in major markets so they can change more megabuxks for their advertising slots.
  22. The appeal of these playoffs is that the farther you go, you always find a good team on the other side of the ball. I actually fear the Titans more than the Ravens, but I am into round two thinking on that one. The Bills can beat anyone, they just need to execute their plan better than the other guy. Of course, the plan might be the decider, and this year our coaches are putting together great game plans...especially over the last two months. That is why I am apprehensive about loosing a coordinator. Daboll is a potential loss, but I think Frazier will stay.
  23. CAm was a longshot for sure....but Bellicheck knows already that Stidham cna't play........so he had to do something. Look for the Pats to add a couple of QB's this off season.
