  1. He's an old man now by football standards.......
  2. Good to ride the horses that brought you this far.
  3. They would need to win 4 in a row. Possible, but, not probabile. I would hate it though, if they won 3 and lost in the SB again....as I lived through the four losses in the 90's. How bad was it.....I have a story.....I was on a business trip in Poland about two weeks after the 4th loss, I think, and was staying in a fleabag motel in central Poland. I turned on the TV (B&W w 6 inch screen) and the only channel they had was a replay of the Bills loosing the SB....so, I had to turn it off.
  4. To beat the Bills....RUN the ball and keep Allen/Diggs off the field. Just like the Chiefs did when they beat the Bills this season. Not a secret..its on tape.
  5. At age 69, it might be time to smell the roses a little. On the other hand, Chan was always an offensive master when here, and was failed time and again by his DC selections. If Daboll leaves, I would not object to seeing Gailey back in Buffalo for another turn. But, would want his commitment for 3 years, no one and done here again for OC. But, Mc D will do it his way...and Bean may also have a voice but not a final say in McD's staff. A lot depends on how they view the capabilities of the in house candidates. Chan would be the hired gun. Fitz won't be coming here as the reduced cap is going to make him way to expensive as a backup. Would not even surprise me, as an economy move, we end up with Webb and Fromm as the backups this next year.
  6. I have been to that airport that early. It had to be single car....as there are no other cars around.
  7. Dorsey comes with some good experience. But, none as an OC. Daboll, on the other hand, had that job a few other places. (Alabama, Miami, and maybe one other) before coming here.) Also, 9 years on Belicheck's staff...but never got promoted there. I still wonder about that with the great job Dabs has done here. Of course, he has the horses, as they say, this year. The superior Josh, Diggs, Brown, Beasley.......better line. (OK, no TE really, just pretenders) Not sure Dorsey can do the schemimg needed to put together a game plan....that is taking opponent tape input used to put together the game plan every week. THAT is what the OC does. Still, I think continuity arguments and his connection to McD will result in him getting the job. Of course, its a tough situation coming in after Daboll....as he has a GREAT record this year of being a clairvoyant OC, tough act to follow.
  8. Probabily, especially because Dorsey is a McD guy.
  9. He replaced Roman, and things got better immediately as I recall. Maybe that was because Rex didn't meddle in the offense.
  10. Patricia makes a lot of sense, as they know each other well from pats days. Depends if Patricia wants to work again so soon...as he is likely collecting a couple of more years of pay from the Lions for not working. He would be working for nothing......but most of these coaches would rather be at work.
  11. Buffalo's small market status makes other markets more important for advertisers. Its a money game folks....they want good ratings in major markets so they can change more megabuxks for their advertising slots.
  12. The appeal of these playoffs is that the farther you go, you always find a good team on the other side of the ball. I actually fear the Titans more than the Ravens, but I am into round two thinking on that one. The Bills can beat anyone, they just need to execute their plan better than the other guy. Of course, the plan might be the decider, and this year our coaches are putting together great game plans...especially over the last two months. That is why I am apprehensive about loosing a coordinator. Daboll is a potential loss, but I think Frazier will stay.
  13. CAm was a longshot for sure....but Bellicheck knows already that Stidham cna't play........so he had to do something. Look for the Pats to add a couple of QB's this off season.
  14. Another Robert Parish.....have seen enough of that...to frail to stay healthy in the NFL. Cut him now....he can run , catch etc, but, take a hit from a DT who weights twice what he does....nawwww.
  15. If the Bills added Sills, it would certainly remind me of a hockey roster like move, where teams pickup late season additions for the playoff push. But, I see this as a reaction to the loss of Kumerow. Its good insurance, but the playbook obstacle along with no chemistry with JA would make him a last resort. It also says they have no confidence in Duke Williams....but, if that is true, why are they keeping him around? A lot we don't know here, and the true injury status is the most important. Lets see...Barkley started with about 2 weeks notice a couple of years ago....and that was at QB, so Sillls, after clearing COVID, might be available for first playoff game. Another possibility is that Browns COVID listing is the real deal, and he is out with the virus. Stay tuned.
  16. The Bills are much improved in terms of function. But, the design of the league is that teams rise and fall with the draft and the salary cap. Belicheck was candid in an interview recently. The Pats had sold out the cap in past years and this year were paying the price. The Bills did that also. Now, this version of the Bills has the old salary cap. When the new reduced version comes into play, a lot of the vets that have made this team will be gone..replaced with cheap new draft picks and non draft picks. Even the vet minimum will be "expensive", especially after Josh gets his $40 mil a year deal. Thats not an arrow for Josh, its just the Bills being pulled back to the NFL earth.
  17. If your throwing to the TE in the end zone, it needs to be Kroft. (with respect to Smith)
  18. Belicheck has seen Stidham every day in practice, and already knows he can't play. (per my fried from Boston)
  19. Miami not winning week 17 though......as Bills want to keep the #2 seed
  20. Of course, Cleveland did it a couple of times....and got Myles Garrent and Baker Mayfield with their #1 picks. Leaders now on both sides of the ball. So, the backside of the 0-16 can be good we are seeing further down Lake Erie. (glad we did 't go that route though)
