  1. Actually smart to not have your starting CB's return punts.
  2. Although they are a business (the NFL), they don't control the firing in each teams organizations. So, the NFL doesn't have the leverage to force a hire. And, any "forced" or incentivized hiring would/could bring other lawsuits. The is going to be i nteresting to watch, I know for sure that the courts are not smart enough to figure it out. And, its a long way to go to force a team sale......owners who want to sell are not frequent. Boncs on the block now, and more than one for sale might depress the price. Not looking for forced selling to happen any time soon or ever. And, if there is a quota in management, perhaps there should be a quota in the player ranks. Then the NFL can get reverse discrimination lawsuits. (see Bakke vs the Univ of Calfornia)
  3. Flores needs to understand, that as soon as Schoen went to the Giants as GM, that Daboll was likely going to be his choice as long as he could get the ownership group to agree. That , in fact, might have been part of the dialog before Schoen even agreed to go there. Above all else, hiring authority hires people they are comfortable with to do the job they are filling. No super interview was going to break that chain of events imho. Its not racial, although some would say it is, its the Giants trying to bring some of the Bills DNA by taking a big bite. (four guys so far at my count) Flores got released in Miami for whatever reason, he had a contract, I am sure it will be paid out. Outside of the contract, its employment at will on the part of the ownership of any franchise. (the money talks) If Flores thinks there should be a quota on management positions in football, one could argue there should also be a quota on the distribution of races in the player ranks. That might or might not produce the best quality of football as an entertainment product and could impact the revenue of the league in undertermined ways. Personally, I am a fan for the football game itself and would hate to see quality play suffer if less qualified players were kept on roster for non football reasons.
  4. One new coordinator per season is enough imho.
  5. Yeh, but with a good agent he can collect his 5-6 mil for 5 y ears.w total on the Giants contract. Take a year or two off, or the rest of his life for that matter.
  6. A new OC will cause as many problems as the opposing D imho. New systems, new terms....got to learn about each other.
  7. Always worth interviewing as you might learn something. And, maybe they have another job for this guy. Let McBean do their job.
  8. imho, the special teams coach..... This MISTAKE reminds me of the REX Ryan era. 10 men on the field....etc, but this was much bigger.
  9. Phins will try to get McKenzie...home town talent.
  10. Never having seen Barkley play, I don't have a view. Who on this board watches the Giants? Not me!
  11. Yeh Bad calculus there.
  12. Stafford has only 22 left on his c ontract. The Rams will have to make a big decision.
  13. imho, the special teams coach.....
  14. Hmmmm how many TD's did Davis have? Seems like the Bills have that stud already.
  15. i REMEMBER PRAYING THE BILLS WOULD HAVE 11 MEN on the field
  16. Got tickets to a museum...no more NFL this year winter
  17. Not sure either coordinator is getting a HC gig.
  18. Davis will be a lot more expensive next year after that show tonight.
  19. I think the two coordinators are more likely to take the hit for the mistakes of this game. Daboll didn't use his best weapon (Josh's arm) enough. Frazier played a prevent D at the end and in the OT and it cost the game. McD could overrule them, but those issues need to be debated ahead of the game. McD at most nods his head when the calls are made in the heat of battle. And, remember, Levy never won a SB either, and he was never fired as I recall. (different owner then) I am happy to be in the playoffs each year, and, take a shot at the SB. Might or might not get one in my lifetime. BUT, we were entertained. Sorry, lots of franchises would take McD now, and the Pegs are all in keeping him here. (me also btw)
  20. Marriotta isn't going back to the Titans.........really!
  21. Old news, I knew this 50 years ago. A FULL squat is dangerous to your knee/cartlidge. Partial squats may, however, help those muscle groups some. Just don't go all the way down.
  22. A lot of player and cap calculus to sort this out. But, Hodgins is far from having shown anything in a game, even preseason. Who knows if he can play. Sanders likely has to go, and Kumerow is a core special teams player I think. McKenzie is on a one year deal, and is from Miami.....I would not rule out him showing up on the phins roster. Beasley can still play, and is a little expensive at7.5.....if he restructures, he might stay. I don't buy he is much slower btw. Yes, a high draft pick after the linemen we need is called for. If we loose coordinators we might have excess 3 rd picks to focus on this need.
