The NFL ticket exchange works pretty well. I have sold and purchased on that site...and you get tickets e-mailed directly to you, no waiting for snail mail to arrive. this is Bills and NFL sanctioned. Service charges a little pricey, but worth it in my view for the absolute convience.

Your lawn mowing business scenrio is missing the real world element of "off the books" workers. Guys and gals paid in cash everyday without any record of employment. LOTS of that going on, especially in the illegal immigrant community, but really in the whole economy, not that segment of employees alone. Especially the small business for short terms/seasonal businesses, like lawn mowing. For the little business owner, he is already stretched so far he is close to going under...have one of my wife's relatives in that situation. That guy is also buried under other regulations that most of his competitors ignore....he knows the law, but can't afford to follow it....he would be out of business in two months...with no business.

He may do well, but this is his first season as DC without Rex Ryan looking over his shoulder. Even with a superbowl season like performance, I doubt he is yet a head coaching candidate. He cannot leave for a lateral, unless his contract is up. I am guessing he got more than one year when doing his initial contract.

Family of evicted fan sue local government agencies
bigK14094 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the risk of being flippant, should this suit come forward, the Town of Orchard Park and Erie County might well adopt a policy that those though to be inebriated should spend the night in the local lockup. Then nobody drowns. Get two paddy wagons, and shuttle them to a nearby jail, where they can sleep it off. Of course, they may need to turn a local college dormatory into that jail based on the crowd I have seen. But, certain folks are falling down drunk, and, I guess, could be protected from themselves. (really BIg Brother nanny state stuff) there must be a local statute against public drunkness......if not, they just might enact one. -
Well, multiple venues are not uncommon in football. The Packers used to do that, don't know anymore. IN college football, Alabama goes to Biringham sometimes, and stays in Tuscalossa sometimes, I think. Does anybody else in the NFL today use multiple stadiums? (Yeh, Vikes when their roof caves in )

I am just going to say it, We beat NE in the opener
bigK14094 replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It helps if Gronk is out because of the back surgery, for sure. I cannot fathom why back surgery would be held off to mid June. Why not January? Hoping it would self heal? I don't know, just wondering if it was planned this way, or just bad judgement by Gronk or team management. In any event, Bills luck out having Pat up first in light of Gronks likely absense from that game. -
Enough dodging: who is the QB for this team/why?
bigK14094 replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kolb is the starter unless EJ takes it away in training camp. Not sure he can do that yet.....a year from now, I think for sure, but today, still on the steep part of the learning curve. If the Bills can't win with Kolb, or Kolb gets hurt, then EJ can start with a little less pressure....and get ready to take over in year two. Aaron Rodgers sat behind Farve 3 years, and it didn't hurt him. Yeh, I know, Kolb is not Farve. I think there is a possibility the Kolb will surprise. He was killer at the beginning of last season for Ariz. If he can stay healthy, he could very well surprise. -
Criticism of Pettine from Jets Nation?
bigK14094 replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Recall Marrone was on the Jets staff a few years back and knew Pettine then.....so, the mysterious connection isn't so mysterious. And, Pettine, showed good judgement getting out of the Jets circus and getting the chance to be his own man. Now, as for former Jets not being signed (cept Downton), that knife cuts two ways, maybe Pettine did not want those guys...he would know. OK, his performance going forward is all the matters.....Gailey choose poorly for DC all his years. Marrone did better already. IMHO -
The possible end of an era for Buffalo as a franchise
bigK14094 replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A decade from now, likely will not need a two bills drive website. Unfortunately. Buffalo market to small to play in the big money NFL long term. I don't like it, but I am prepared for it. Just check the demographics in this country, lots of bigger venues to move to....with better weather as well, meaning potential sell outs in November and December, something not seen here since the playoff days of Jim Kelly. -
I am upset with the seat cushion ban. I have a serious back problem that needs a support. I can get all the doctors notes etc, but the policy doesn't seem to accomodate that. I think they are crossing the ADA (American Disabilities Act) line on that one, and somebody will straighten them up on that one. I will try nice first, though.

I read the policy....actually, its not much different than the policy that was already in place . I actually have had that plastic bag they describe for more than 10 years. That is transparent, 1'x1'. I carry poncho's, small radio, binocs, sandwiches, chips whatever....just not liquids. Of course, my grey hair helps me through security. Younger folks get treated worse, I have seen it. (Although, last year I had to hold my i phone out in the rain so they could wand me. They said it was for the good of my i phone, the wand can damage them allegedly. Like putting it out in the rain could not!) I agree, the security provisions take away from the game experience substantially, and the lines are horrendous. I am likely a short timer as a season ticket holder, can't take this much longer.

Official OTA/Minicamp Thread (May/June)

Williams was lost out there at CB......have a hard time believing that the move to safety will render him more capable. He was burned bad by many of the receivers. -
Poll: Should the "Redskins" name be changed?
bigK14094 replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In this country, we have the 1st amendment, that is free speech. Mr Snyder, the owner of the REDSKINS, does not want to change. End of story. The money talks. Those who wish to protest can avoid patronizing his business. -
Actually, there is something behind Belicheck going this route. Perhaps he has decided that Mallet doesn't have "it". Great arm but not the head, I am guessing. Look for Pats to trade Mallet....somebody else to be #2, and Tebow at #3 for now. Tebow does have the head.....maybe not the arm, though. Tebow was a #1 pick.....a nice pickup if he can be salvaged. Not happy its the Pats, but Brady will be there for 4 more years anyhow.

Stevie Johnson is a very capable receiver, but not totally elite because of his lack of speed. Most NFL corners can run him down from behind. their real problem with him is his moves....he can separate and can catch, although he has only average hands. I don't think this rating is far off.

Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp
bigK14094 replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the first situation that Whatley has faced like this....others were on Buddy's watch. Whatley will make his bones on this situation.....we may not see Byrd until November. -
Draft Compensation Picks/Legursky Signing
bigK14094 replied to jtewy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nate was never a shutdown corner, a B player at best here. Sf got hosed when they signed him....he is old and below average today. We can do better. -
I guess I am still wondering why, with the Bills not moving on Levetre, that Reinhart was not resinged. Reinhart start many games over two years, and did workman like job. Yet, little if any comment on this board about that loss. Another front office failing in my view. He only got a one year contract from San Diego, so he did not go to a top of the line contract. Why not keep him?

Is Jim Kelly ill ?? (update - has cancer)
bigK14094 replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the same kind of cancer that Grover Cleveland had. He survived about 30 years more including 5 kids. Read the recent book about Cleveland. -
Technical difficulties. Receiving Bills Games over the air
bigK14094 replied to jaybee's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We really should discuss the root cause of the reception probem. I live in Niagara County, substantially north of the transmitters for the Buffalo area, which are all south of the city. In fact, we lost the ability to get any (digital) out of the air signals when the mandatory conversion to digital signals was implemented. So, we need to blame the FCC and the federal government in general for this problem. I my case, I bought, tried out, and returned 6 different antenna's, allegedly supposed to bring in digital, none worked and many were intermittant during questionable weather where electrostatic effects wiped out the digital signal. Folks, this was big government at its worst....they are forcing us to go to satellite TV or cable...consider us OTA (out of the Air) folks to be throwbacks and hicks. I now have directv, and it works fine almost all the time. Anyhow, just making the point here, not surprised to hear this war story from central NY....same all over. Many people got hosed by the digital conversion....that was the intent!. Its all about the money folks. The media industry lobbied the FCC to get into your pocketbook!!! They could have mandated higher power levels for digital, but then there would not have been all those new customers for cable and satellite! And, finally, you should be aware that the same lobby is now pushing to ELIMINATE OTA service, as it is a technology whose time is past! (yeh, it is about the money folks) -

Bills sign WR DeMarco Sampson
bigK14094 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This one makes my head hurt a little. they have a lot of receivers, and many of them are their pickups...meaning they are at least somewhat invested in these guys. So, this pickup has another source.....maybe looking for receivers that can do practice squad....or maybe they have already written off Kaufmann because of lack of speed. And Smith and Easley. Easley was a 4 pick, but missing all that time...and likely no longer practice squad elgible.....anyhow this new signee would ,at least , be practice squad elgible. Could also be that the Bills have some insight that we don't know, Maybe Whaley likes this guy, or scouted him, or something. -
Poz was hurt so much, that I con't think that you can even count those years.....he only did 5 games one year, and there was another washout as well. As a brittle middle linbacker, we were better off with Poz elsewhere. I wonder how many games he has played at Jacksonville...any complete seasons?
