  1. Thad is 1-2 now, and looks like a serviceable backup to EJ. But, he is a free agent at the end of this year, so who knows if that will play out.
  2. In order to be respectable today,a the Bills D has to have a monster day, and generate multiple turnovers. Now, they know how to do that, but can they do it against Brees. Well, the did it to Flacco......its the way to win. I am a big Brees fan, since his days at Purdue......but, can't root for him today as I am hard core Bills.
  3. Wingo may be active, but I don't think we will see much of him unless Jackson or Choice gets hurt.
  4. The Ralph isn't an airline, not sure you will get in at all. Nor, that you should......I would not take a 1 year old to the Ralph in November, weather may be nasty, not to mention the crowd. And, the fans are very much up and down for big plays, it won't be sitting and watching with him on your lap....it will be up and down dozens of times. I would not do it.....our family usually waits until children are about 9-10 before going, and then we do a preseason or warm Sept game. Try Goat island if you are doing a quick stop at the Falls, can see both Canadian and American Falls from one stop.
  5. My personal experience with ankles is that they take time and rest. Taking a week (or two) off is right, Spiller needs all his moves, not just the straight ahead speed. (which he showed against Cleveland) Rest Spiller this week, and maybe, the following week as well. We can use Frank Summers to get 1.1 yards per carry (which is what Spiller got against Miami) Spiller should not have played against Miami. (sort of kidding about Summers)
  6. I remember a game in the Ralph when the Saints with Gus Ferotte at QB beat the Bills in a really nasty weather game. I remember Gus name because his brother played for the Bills (Mitch Ferotte) Can't place the year though, perhaps 80's, anyhow, I was there, frozen and disappointed.
  7. RIP I listened (on the radio!)to Bill Mazer doing the Bisons games in the 50's. The game play would come in over the ticker tape (I am not making this up) and he would do the game like it was live from here in Buffalo. International League was in Havana in those days I recall, and the tape from there was particularily criptic........he used to share that his spotter doing the game in Havana used to send him a one word description of what was going on.....hit, out, error.....Mazor had to make it all up beyond that. But, he had great talk between the "action", and I was just a kid who loved listening about Luke Easter, Poncho Herrerra, Bobby Wine, Jim Gentile, Bobby Del Greco..and all the great names that played in that era.
  8. As a season ticket holder, I hate the night games......disrupts the standard setup of many fans who build their attendance around the 1pm Sunday timing. Lots of folks have to work the next day, and they pass on the event. Also, later in the schedule, its a lot colder and less desirable. I left my Miami tickets in the drawer last year (that was Thursday night if you recall) Traffic is a mess because many attendees were gifted the tickets and don't know how to go to/fro0m the stadium. But, I know, none of this prime time scheduling gives a rat about the fans in attendance....they are truely an afterthought when it comes to TV planning. I will say this, I watched the phins/Bills game on Sunday, and the stands there were VERY empty.....wondering whats going on there.
  9. Despite the fact that we need him....I would rest CJ Spiller to give that ankle a week or two off. He isn't the back we need him to be right now, and we don't need 6 carries for 1.3 yards/ from him. (despite the home run against the Browns) I don't know how Jackson keeps going, but he is effective. Last year he also kept going ,but was not effective. (like Spiller this year) I have had the ankle injuries during my athletic years, and time off and treatment is the answer. Give up the 6 useless carries and get him back to the real CJ who can cut/bob/weave and be the nemisis we want him to be to the opposition. I will sit down and shut up now.
  10. Got a few weeks to watch him before needing to think about that.
  11. 5 QB's, not really a problem....just need to get more footballs.
  12. Manuel likely worse off than we have heard. Not likely a decision made on signing him until they see him. I believe in tasting my food before I salt it.
  13. Hogan does not belong in the NFL, he looks like he is lost out there and cannot execute. Send him along with the punter........bring back Kaufman or whoever. Or promote Streeter........Hogan a dud.
  14. Yes, the ST coach was an obscure hire to say the least. Now, every HC deserves to pick his staff. But, somebody should blow in Marrone's ear and tell him about Wade, ronnie and Ralph...and how that situation could cost him his job. (ask Wade)
  15. Hogan does not look like he belongs out there. TJ Graham did make a couple of catches today, and is willing to stick his head in there after the catch. But, he dropped a real good ball....tv guy really badmouthed him on that one (rightfully so) Missed Stevie....Chandler underutilized...but got a couple of big ones today. Easley looks better than Hogan.....must be a head problem, cause he is better than Hogan physically.
  16. Neither Thad, despite his day today. or EJ, despirte his nominal start in 5 games, has convinced me they are NFL starters. I will say this, Thad's throw to Goodwin for the tying TD was the first major league long ball I have seen from the Bills this year.
  17. Ummmmm...NO. Haven't seen Woods take it over the middle and take the big hit or get that extra couple of yards. Stevie is a problem for opposing defenses.....his problems this year, other than physical......are that Hackett wants him to run cookie cutter routes....so his runny nose young QB's don't have to think to much. With Fitz, Stevie used to have freedom to take it whereever it would disadvantage the DB....and get really open. Fitz could read and react.....but our QB crew now can't do that....they need formula routes so they know in advance where he will be. So, a conflict between Hackett's style and Stevie's best effectiveness style will mean one will leave at some point. I am voting for Hackett to leave, as Stevie is a legit talent, and we can't say that about Hackett.
  18. When I saw Lewis in the preseason, his arm did not impress me. Of course, Manuel's arm has not yet impressed me either. Maybe not a keeper among those two.
  19. Yep, time will tell. I agree, his ball is more naturally thrown. EJ has a nice tight spiral, but the throwing action is somewhat artificial....its actually what they teach, though, at the QB camps....oh well.
  20. He was a great prospect with bad hips. He may yet heal after his surgery, but it was to much for this year...he was a walking cripple really. I hope he is OK for normal life .
  21. This management group does not look functional. The Byrd mess....should have traded him earlier. the Qb mess, absolutely no foresight. Whaley and Marrone do not seem to have the stones for the job. Only one looking competant is Pettine. And, of course, Brandon is also implicated here. I think Littman is the carrier of the bad decision impetitus, however. Brandon will never be in charge until LIttman is gone and replaced by Brandon's own man. Of course, Byrd wanted to make a miracle recovery to play on national TV on Thursday night......selling himself to the other NFL personnel that were watching. Glad Marrone sat him. Personally, I would have activated him, and used him as a gunner on the punt team. Lets see if he can run and hit. But, with all of two days of full speed work, I also was not convinced he was ready to play a new defensive scheme.
  22. Greer, ok, Florence....was washed up when let go, he would be faster in a wheel chair.
  23. If Manuel is out next week, who will play QB if Tuel gets hurt? Fred Jackson?
  24. I agree about Hackett, but I also question the special teams coach....wondered at the time he was hired. One of Marrone's gumba's, I think. Yes, some questionable officiating the year. But, yesterday was not near as bad as the Baltimore game.....I never saw so many bad calls and missed calls. that business on the Baltimore O line was crazy. The guard was moving in advance on every play, and they call it once during the game. I was there, and I saw it. Funny, very visible from the lower bowl, and not visible on the field.
  25. Not surprised here....saw him kick in person at both the Carolina and Baltimore games. He really was inconsistent, and was outkicked by the punters on both of those other teams. Couple of shanks against Baltimore. I think last night was just the final straw. OF course, the coverage teams are at fault on those returns as well.., but he had to kick high to give time to cover, and he was not doing that. Maybe draft a punter again next year......
