  1. Spikes and Tebow...were.together in college. They visited Alabama at the same time while being recruited out of high school and met there......after the visit, the 'bama staff ask him where he was going to school, Spikes replied....where ever Tebow goes......and that is the way it happened.
  2. I voted all season.....having said that, I think that if you get near the end of the season, and you are going nowhere.....they you need to find out about others.......give Tuel a game or two to see what he can do......Orton only gets in if EJ gets hurt and you are still potentially going some where. Like it or not, Tuel is our developmental QB...and he needs to be developed if EJ isn't cutting it. It also could come to pass that EJ is getting pounded from lack of protection...and getting him out of there a game or two might be good for him...this in the event the O line is badly overmatched this year. Likely though, this administration gives EJ the whole season.
  3. I remember Brandon Marshall destroying the Bills in the Ralph during his Bronco's days. So, unless they can stop that guy, it ain't going to be pretty. (He caught 13 that day, I think) Don't know much about Chicago otherwise......Bills haven't shown much on the road recent years.....and certainly not with this crew. I find it hard to project a Bills win......even though the Chicago D is suspect. Looking, I guess , for the Bills to loose 42 to 20.
  4. Haven't seen EJ beat anybody with his arm. So, the proposed D scheme makes sense to me. Stop the run until they beat you through the air.
  5. Put Watkins on IR, make him the designated one to return the second half. No hurt players.........gettem well before sticking them out there. Stupid putting him in the preseason unless they wanted to see how it went. We saw, and that will open the roster for TJ Graham. Not out of the question.
  6. I too am a long time season ticket holder (4 decades) I support the blackout rule. The entertainment provided by the Bills on the field (I use the term loosely) is the intellectual property of the owner. And, he can do what he wants with it. If he is mandated to always give it away (all games televised), then I will stay home and not go to the studio....I mean stadium. Empty stadiums will follow a lifting of the blackout rule. As for the public facility in use....yes, and the benefits of a local professional sports team accrue to the region. But, the actual ownership of the entertainment property is not public. Now, as for political pressure....you bet, the exemptions provided by Congress to the NFL are substantial....and can be lost. But, non the less.......I don't think it can be done......and I wonder how to draw the line between football and baseball and hockey and whatever....mostly played in public venues.
  7. The strength of a good organization is a difference of opinion. When two men in an organization both think alike, one is unnecessary...not my words, WC Wrigley
  8. Team doesn't need this guy......wanting him is like wanting cancer.
  9. I talked to the ticket office this week about the NFL Toicket Exchange non functionality for preseason games....and they mentioned as a btw....they were waiting for the codes for the Redzone from the league. So, I think its still coming...maybe not in time for preseason, though.
  10. Marrone showing he is no better than Gregg Williams.....had enough of both myself.
  11. Head coaches rise and fall with their coordinators. Gailey failed to bring in D coordinators that could do the job..........Marrone....looks to me like he went and got not one but two good D coordinators. Marrone's problem is his O coordinator. I don't think Hackett is ready for the big time.....now, I have to admit, tayloring and offense to keep EJ from imploding is a tough task....but, they picked him.......they have to live with it. Without success this year....the whole bunch would be candidates to go under new ownership. I think Schwartz IS here partially because he would have a leg up to be the new HC.......and I might be OK with that idea. Now, about Whaley.....IMHO...he will stay....he was sought after by other owners to be a GM as recently as a year ago.But he stayed based on promises made and then delivered upon.....and although he hasn't show the track record here yet......I might be inclinded to keep him were I the new owner. I wonder if Marrone is really Whaleys guy, or did Brandon do it? Anyhow, I think a new President is very likely, not that I am saying that Brandon is all bad. Brandon lands on his feet elsewhere I am thinking.
  12. Sanchez is not the complete QB, but likely better than EJ right at this moment. Big risk to the current administration to bring him in, If he actually got in a game, he might outplay EJ and make out front office look really bad. But, we need a backup, and if Sanchez is cut, I say pick him up. He is not a #1 QB, but he had as lot of experience and has seen his share of pressure situations. We could do a lot worse. And, he ain't going to play in Philly.
  13. Mallet? Unnnn..NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO He wasn't much at Ark, and hasn't done anything in the pro's either.
  14. When the draft includes three OL's, #2, #4 and #7, older guys better watch out!!!!
  15. Hogan reminds me of Coy Wire......in that he is a coaches favorite who can't really play....but they look for every excuse to keep this guy. I would cut this guy in a heatbeat and keep TJ Graham.....unless , of course, TJ 's contract is up after this year, and we will loose him to free agency anyhow. People get hurt, and having a slow possession receiver to fill in for the top three or four doesn't seem right to me. This guy is not the second coming of Bobby Chandler.......(for those of you who remember him) And, for the numbers guys....with EJ and our assorted subs last year at QB, you can't get a read on any receivers capabilities. Stevie Johnson, a 1000 yard guy three seasons in a row, couldn't make it with a rook qb who couldn't read the route adjustments that made SJ a great receiver. (thats why he used to drive Revis nuts, he could play against Revis cover, and neutralize it) Of course, it took a Harvard qb to do that read.
  16. If Brown plays well, Bradham will have blown the opportunity of a lifetime for a little weed. Bradham may never get to start again, at least in Buffalo. He may be over his interest in weed, he may not, who knows. Ignorance can be cured, stupid is forever....I sure don't know which it is in this case.
  17. Under the accounting notion of "mark to market", the value of the Bills franchise will be the transaction price on the day they are sold. Whatever the Bills books shows today for the value (net book value) will then have a new entry called "good will" That good will item will be the difference between the price and the prior net book. And, the new owner will be able to depreciate that, I think. (I am not an accountant, but took a Cliff notes MBA about 25 years ago)) Any accountants on this board? At least, I think that will be the "tax accounting" value of the team......the new management may use another method of accounting...at their discretion btw.
  18. I think it sends a real message when the team drafts 3 OL rookies in the draft this year. Vetrans beware!!! Lets just hope this isn't the second coming of the Jauron complex....he was a DB and always drafted DB's in quantity. Now, we have Marrone, and he was an OL....so drafting in quantity? I hope not!
  19. Reading the tea leaves here, I am wondering if NR was brought in to influence MW in a professional way......wondering if there was a prior relationship the Bills are trying to use to help MW find his way to stability. Just thinkin........ And, he is every bit as useful as a Hogan IMHO....and, lastly, he has hometown fans here.....making this a marketing touch, if nothing else.
  20. Some interesting stuff...agree the Marrone stuff was interesting. Tributes to Mr Wilson were OK and expected. I still haven't seen EJ throw a long ball on target on the outside though......thought I must have missed one....but, none in the highlights...unless you want to call that underthrown TD Pass to TJGraham as a good throw....it was a TD.
  21. My opinion for what its worth.....if the Canadian group buys the Bills, the lease will still be in place. But, the fan base in Buffalo will not...and attendance will drop in the following couple of years to the point where they are hemmoraging money.....and it will pay them to buy out the lease early. I am guessing , then, that Erie county might very well get a big windfall of cash from the buyout...earlier than some suspect. I, for one, with my four season tickets, will likely not support the team if an owner with relocation intentions buys the team. Of course, the smart big money will not admit they have that intention, but the Toronto buyers cannot hide in that myth...we know they would move it sooner or later. Galisano, Pagula...they would leave it long term, I think, the guy from LA, Trump...well, they say they will leave it in Buffalo, but who knows...conditions change in business. As for the new stadium red herring.....I think the Notre Dame like solution might work...that is a bubble roof over an existing stadium....(the Ralph) Its all about the money, not "new"...ticket prices will rise. One more item in this rant......those wanting a new facility downtown near the water are trying urban renewal on a hobby basis. 10 dates a year does not make a new downtown. And, the baggage of poor transportation will turn away as many as the other attractions downtown might draw. I, for one, with my four season tickets go for the football, not for adjacent resturants and a view of the lake......and traffic near the Orchard Park stadium is bad enough with 360 degrees of egress. Cut that to 180 degrees of egress roads, and you can imagine the traffic mess that would ensue. Rant over....
  22. I don't know who will be our All-Pro, but our All-Con will be OJ......
  23. Kiko do the knee thing right, don't succumb to a "quick return" , some will want that. Get it done right, and the knee will be better than new. (the Emerson Boozer days are long gone. Boozer took 2 years to come back at 3/4 speed, but that was the 70's and this is now....things are MUCH better. He was a killer Jets RB)
