  1. Then what would you recommend they do with new coaches and GMs when it comes to contracts? Rent to own? The mistakes made by the Pegulas neither begin nor end with the length of the contract. In fact, the length of the contract doesn't play a role at all EXCEPT to instill confidence, not just in the person you're hiring but the players he hopes to recruit. You can't try to bring a good player or other coaches with you if you sign a two-year deal. The only part of the bad contract that affects anyone is the money, and since it's not your money, it's not part of the conversation.
  2. Yes, but it is relevant in terms of establishing your confidence and expectations. It's so weird to me how everyone wants to piss on the decision makers. Being a good leader isn't just about making great decisions. It's also about recognizing and admitting bad decisions, and being able to move on from them quickly. Find me 12 people who can hire new personnel in most industries, and I'll find you 12 people who will admit to having made bad choices. The key is moving on from them, no matter how wrong you were. For some reason, when it comes to the Bills, this means nothing but another reason to piss on the team. So unrealistic.
  3. Based on what I'm reading, you'll get to see him more than once. After the next preseason game, visiting hours at Mercy Hospital are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. I'm sure he'll appreciate your visit.
  4. Learned last night that the Niners gave both John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan six-year deals.
  5. I think it's less about this and more about hoping to win the lottery. When does our Tom Brady* show up? Where's our Dak Prescott? How come when our bad starting quarterback gets hurt, all we get is a bad backup? Every time a new QB shows up, everyone hopes he'll be a miracle.
  6. Oh, great. Now you've triggered Spurna.
  7. Y'know, I appreciate how easy it is to have hindsight, but there is so much more to this than simply "a fourth for a second." In fact, I seem to recall everyone giving the Bills high marks for that draft. We can only wonder what kind of year he would have had had he not been injured. It's not like he was just a crappy pick in the second round.
  8. Called today, went to Customer Loyalty, and got a very nice lady with a sense of humor. Instead of goofing around, I just explained I just don't want to pay for Ticket, and have no problem canceling it but wanted to see what she could do. Free ticket. Free Redzone. ATT Uverse, which I recently upgraded, cut $15/month forever. $50/month DTV credit for 12 months. HBO, Cinemax free for 6 mos, Starz for 4 mos, and Sports Pack free for a year. I have no idea what Sports Pack is, but apparently it has every sports channel you can think of. Except ESPN The Ocho, which means I'll miss out on the National Dodgeball Championship. Oh, well.
  9. I'm curious why you need to understand my view of Jim Brown. This discussion is what he said about Kaep, not his history. Why change the subject? Oh, wait. I know. Because he doesn't agree with you about Kaep, so it's easier to bring down the messenger than to argue his message.
  10. It's always interesting to me that the left will yell "racism" at the drop of a hat, until a black person calls them out on their stupidity. Then he's no longer a black person, but a POS human being. Terrific.
  11. Tim Graham compared him to Ali. No, I'm not kidding.
  12. I've been following a crappy football team for years and still watch. I'm not going to stop just because liberal sportswriters find it comforting to put the spotlight on how a bad quarterback worth millions hates the country where he earned his millions. Mute and FF are your friend.
  13. Was watching video of these nutbags beating anyone who walked by yesterday. At one point, the journalists had to jump in to stop the random beatings. I suspect very soon they are going to take a swing at the wrong person. Maybe when someone fights back and puts a few bullets in these face-masked cowards, they'll ask Soros for a new assignment.
  14. Is there a reason you're basing everything on the color of a man's skin? I mean, you seem go be the ONLY one talking about skin color. Don't you find that to be a bit, y'know, odd?
  15. It's been like this in virtually every preseason game I've watched, regardless of who is playing.
  16. Declaring McDermott crap this early into his first gig is ridiculous. That's all.
  17. Again, put me on ignore. It will make your life much easier. I'm not your keeper.
  18. Actually, I come for the game but I stay for the meltdown. And I used to talk football during the season, back when every thread had solid discussions in it. Not like now, where every thread is a special thread dedicated to someone's thought while driving to work. Meanwhile, if you don't think it's ridiculous to blame McDermott -- two months into his first head coaching job -- for not immediately changing the culture and fixing the problems of a football team that hasn't made the playoffs in 17 years, then just ignore more.
  19. No, no. These guys are special. Their opinion is most important opinion. I mean, look at his original post. Such insight. Such productive input.
  20. If you can't fix an NFL team's discipline and culture in two months, you should be shitcanned, amirite????
  21. Was BBMB also called The Whiny Bitches Football Club, because I swear I don't ever recall this many whiny bitches during a preseason game in the past.
  22. If only there were a game thread you could bring us your incredibly insightful musings to. I think it's becoming more clear why the Bills shut down BBMB.
  23. How did he even make it this far in his career??? He sucks! Why can't everyone else see this!
